I spent three largely happy years as a not-so-crypto-Calvinist member of an LCMS congregation when I lived in a small town without any Reformed churches. I think the main benefit for Reformed folk from Lutherans is as a counterbalance to the excesses of broad evangelicism.
I learned a great deal in my time among the Lutherans, but oddly enough it pushed me deeper into the Reformed view of things. It was there that I really learned to appreciate things about my Reformed heritage that I hadn't learned growing up and as a young adult in Reformed churches.
For anyone wanting to learn more about the Lutheran way, I woulld recommend The Spirituality of the Cross by Gene Veith.
Not OP, but I'd recommend the Small and Large Catechisms. Relatively short and simple to read; they're part of the official Lutheran confessions of faith; they're by Martin Luther; and they're free online at those links. Another good resource from a modern writer is The Spirituality of the Cross by Gene Edward Veith.
My top suggestion would be the Book of Concord and exploring the Just and Sinner Podcast archive. You will get a fair, balanced, and orthodox take on Lutheranism.
As others have said, Spirituality of the Cross is one of the better, single serving overviews of what Lutherans believe, as well.
