In this case you should probably just buy one, given how cheap they are: https://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-com-8in-USB-OTG-Cable-Black/dp/B018M8YEX0
You can also just buy an OTG to A female cable and A male to micro B cable and plug them together.
That said, if you still want to make your own for some reason, the specification is here: http://www.usb.org/developers/onthego/otg1_0.pdf
And there are some DIY instructions here:
The key things is you need to ground the MicroAB side ID pin, and leave the MicroB ID pin disconnected. Besides that, connect everything straight through.
Amazon, unfortunately it's add-on only: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018M8YEX0/
I also ordered a shorter right angle OTG cable off eBay from Hong Kong. Gonna be a couple weeks before I see it...
I've been using this one. Less than 3 bucks, but it is a bit short if you're working with larger quads or ones with harder to reach USB ports.
wouldn't you just need a normal micro b to micro b cable? I can't see that being very difficult to find.

No problem.... and if you want to save a bit of battery by not using bluetooth and avoid any possible wifi/bluetooth interference if you do any sort of game streaming, get a cable like this:

It lets you just wire it in to the DS4 without having to sync it or anything. I leave a short one plugged in to the DS4 I have a gameklip on so I can easily use it whenever it's needed.
Oh jeeze that's my bad, hopefully this one works better. If it doesn't, what I was using was a double ended male micro-b to male micro-b connector. Essentially cutting the need for a second cable and the big clunky usb-a connector.
