Arctis 7 for $62 seems like a good deal - buying the ones that only say imperfections on packaging might end up being brand new ones in damaged boxes.

Okay then here is my recommendation from what I was looking around at. I currently have an Arctis 7 wireless headset which I would recommend.. Super comfortable and includes a lot of stuff. You should be able to connect the wireless headphone transmitter to your computer. and then connect the aux cable into your xbox controller. This will enable you to have the game and audio chat settings on your computer. If you go in and disable the game audio settings you can have discord audio in the audio slider and the xbox on the game slider and both should be able to use the mic. If not I would recommend getting a either a Blue snowball or Blue Yeti mic as they aren't crazy expensive and they work amazing for stream quality. Here is a link to the headset.. ( https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Lossless-Wireless-Headset-Headphone/dp/B07FZVXS8H?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1) if you want to dm me and get in a discord I can kind of show you my set-up and how I think it would all work and help you set it up too!

That's the 2017 version. Here's the 2019 version.

Also for those wondering what the differences are:

I'm definitely not an audiophile, I actually rarely ever listen to music but I do spend 4-6hrs a day gaming or watching tv/movies. Before I did much research I fell into the trap of buying a gaming headset and bought the wireless Corsair Void RGB 7.1 surround sound. They're not bad especially for the price ($45 from a coworker) but lately I've been wanting to invest into something that gives me more of a competitive advantage in fps games with a better soundstage.

I bought the Open-Back Virtual 7.1 Sennheiser 373D which I've been using for the past week and have been liking. The open back experience wasn't a huge change for me but it's still a quality headset I believe. With blackfriday sales going on I've also been looking at the HyperX Cloud II's on sale for $65 and the Arctis 7's for $100. I know people say not to use virtual 7.1 but I really do find it helps in locating players who may be above or below you in a building.

Alternatively, I just recently discovered modmic which opens up the possibility for more audiophile headphones since I was against a desktop mic before and was considering trying out Beardynamic DT990 or a nicer pair of open-back Sennheiser like the HD6xx or similar.

i'm also considering buying the cloud flight, do you know if its any better than the Arctis* 7? i see its on sale for 99$ on amazon

Just bought the steelseries Arctis 7 headset for 100 bucks. Looks like that matches its all time low price.

I would personally go for the steelseries headsets. They're a quality durable brand that are worth the investment.

If anyone is wondering, this is the 2019 Edition. It goes for $150 on Amazon.

Also, these or the Arctis 7?

u/romseed · 1 pointr/steelseries

I have the console edition for my Xbox, I got it on sale for like 35-40 dollars or something a little ago, and for my PC I have the Arctis 7 wireless and love them, but I’m biased because I love how these feel on the head compared to other headsets
