$20 range is probably very reasonable for most people. Some in the $50 and $100 range. And a few people might want to give you something beyond that range, so it's ok to have those items on your registry. As long as you have a wide range of prices, you are fine!
In our case, most gifts we received were in $50 range from the registry (either a single item or bundles of smaller items). A few in the $150 range. And a few very generous gifts, including money gifts from baby's grandparents and my favorite baby gift, a Stokke xplory stroller.
