Lol not at all? The different sub genres of high fantasy vs sword and sorcerey are very well defined. Conan, elric, and fafhrd and the grey mouser are all sword and sorcrey tales. Lord of the rings, dragonlance, and sword of shanara novels are all high fantasy.

The differences are very well defined. I know this because i enjoy primarily sword and sorcrey stories, but not high fantasy. Ill take Kull or the characters of thieves world or the black company, over high fantasy characters like drizzdt or aragorn any day..

Here check this out, its a compendium of sword and sorcrey short stories written by sword and sorcrey authors. The tales in here follow the exact rubric of what makes a S&S story different from high fantasy:

>Elric . . . the Black Company . . . Majipoor. For years, these have been some of the names that have captured the hearts of generations of readers and embodied the sword and sorcery genre. And now some of the most beloved and bestselling fantasy writers working today deliver stunning all-new sword and sorcery stories in an anthology of small stakes but high action, grim humor mixed with gritty violence, fierce monsters and fabulous treasures, and, of course, swordplay. Don't miss the adventure of the decade!

To those who are well versed in the fantasy genre its commonly known theres a world of difference between the two sub genres. Conan is very very different from lord of the rings.

I completely agree - there's no fantasy version of Dangerous Visions.

Best fantasy antho I've read is Strahan and Anders' "Swords & Dark Magic" - Lynch, Abercrombie, Cook, Parker... really good collection with some very, very strong stories. It doesn't "reinvent the genre" (to quote one Amazon review), but there's some good stuff in here, and it is a good way to find new authors as well...
