I absolutely love it. When i want to sink into a lush bed of string melody, it's one of my first choices. I'm glad that it's generally performed uncut these days.

Favorite recordings, in order:

  1. Kitaenko/Moscow (hard-to-find recording from the 80s). The most memorable version I've ever heard, despite the Soviet-period engineering. It even has the first movement exposition repeat, and makes you love every moment.

  2. Ormandy/Philadelphia (I prefer the late uncut recording, although his 50s recordings have even better strings).

  3. Bychkov/Orchestre de Paris (my favorite recording from the last 25 years).
