The ancient art of tea

This book is very cool. Got it from my gifter for the book exchange and it is incredibly interesting. The book is kind of an assessment and translation of old tea texts and writings that provide lots of insight to the role tea played in past china. It also gives you a sort of glimpse into how the Chinese perceived tea in their society and to what it really meant to them. It also goes into detail of preparation, set and setting for drinking tea. All while referencing the texts from which the information is drawn.

I highly recommend it.

I wish I did so I could read it myself. The passage I was referring to is translated in The Ancient Art of Tea--a great read!

Have you written a book about tea? I just ordered tea_author's book. I realized last night that I don't know anything about tea that is more complicated than my limited understanding of Chinese and what I can see with my eyes. I got really frustrated when I wrote an article citing a bunk Qing period article. After the article came into question I spent some time searching around trying to find a critique of it in Chinese, with no luck. I'm really disappointed by that because when I checked the article myself it was so obviously written with the typical faulty scholarship so often found in China.
Can you recommend any books in Chinese or English?
My level of Chinese is still pretty casual, but I'll take note of any more advanced books and read them in a few years.
