I was initially using Lynda.com's C# courses, then I bought this book from Amazon as a nice quick reference.

On this project, I've made use of various YouTube videos, StackOverflow, and Reddit, powered by a crapton of Google searches!

PS. For Lynda.com, I'm able to get a free subscription through my library card (also free). If you're interested, try doing the same!

I have looked at a few books, though I feel a tad overwhelmed by the sheer volume of C# books out there. I am not interested in just Unity though, I don't want to use it as a crutch and want to be able to make programs/games outside of it as well. Here are a few I picked out that seemed good via reviews.

When I started with Unity I first decided to learn C# using The C#player's guide (http://www.amazon.com/The-Players-Guide-RB-Whitaker/dp/0985580100/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413286452&sr=8-1&keywords=programming+c%23+players+guide), which is a really good book to learn the basics.
After I had gone through the first 17 chapters or so (took a week), I started doing the tutorials on the unity website.

I'm currently using this or you can go here. I've tried Head C# but sadly instead of starting to learn how to do some basic code I got some problems because I'm using windows 7 OS and you can't use UWP (Universal Windows Platform) on windows 7 and instead you will need to go through WPF tutorial which will take a while before getting to the basics that's why i recommend the "A C# - Players Guide" book. Also I'm doing this on Sharp Develop and no problems so far :)
