I don't know the answers but I remember some fascinating info in the book The Holographic Universe about how the brain functions like a hologram. (I'd expand on that but I'm on my lunch break about to go back to work.)

I highly recommend the book "The Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot that could explain many of the anomalies we find in our current understanding of the Universe.
