I am not agree with you about "most people are religious". May be I was not accurate again. I mean next: religious person is different in their psychic, look:

And 99.9% peoples CAN NOT be in mind states similar to Ramakrishna's one. Don't forget about phenomenas of stop the heartbeat, breath, about "samadhi". So, such persons are different from most other and first step is - religious peoples, ability to to fall into ecstasy from words, thoughts, visions.
  
  And if you read about such persons, you know that they are very expressive or temperamental or passionred or closed or artsy or original, and most importantly, often obsessed with the super-idea as in examples that I mentioned. They easy become geniuses as well as killers, maniacs, etc. This is a specific kind of the mind and it's typical for most religious ascetics. Imagine shaman. I suppose you know, that you can become shaman only after the other shaman will find you the shaman's disease. This is what I'm talking. "Mustaches" - is your trolling only :)
