The Reverse Flash is a messed up dude.
He tried it again when Barry remarried, too.
It's collected here: http://www.amazon.com/Showcase-Presents-Trial-Unnumbered-Paperback/dp/1401231829 but it's a quicker read here: http://www.amazon.com/Life-Story-Flash-Mark-Waid/dp/1563893894
Here's a post I made a little while ago:

It details the major differences between Barry, Wally, and New 52 Wally (note this was before DC retconned it so New52 Wally is different from Pre 52 Wally).
If you want a very concise rundown of Flash history before the modern era then I suggest you check out this 100 page flash primer: https://www.amazon.com/Life-Story-Flash-Mark-Waid/dp/1563893894?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0

> Read The Life Story of The Flash by Mark Waid. This will crashed course you through the silver and bronze age stuff right into the modern era where the good stuff starts. Then Read Flash volume 2 #62-225, which includes both Waid runs, the Morrison/Millar run, and the Johns run. From there you can pick up the modern Barry stuff.
I've seen other covers online and where its a stand-alone issue not a #1 - so I'm not sure.
