I save 50$ a paycheck in my vacation fund, and then when its on the horizon I might amp it up to 100. That way, none of my other goals are impacted and the bill doesnt wipe out a full paycheck or two, money is ready to go.
And I sound like a broken record recommending this book, but its really inspirational re: living lean to create wealth vs living large to feel wealthy (when you are in fact keeping yourself broke).
