Reddit mentions of The Naming: The First Book of Pellinor (Pellinor Series)

if you love them this much, then i know exactly how you feel. you seriously need to give Pellinor a try. Harry Potter used to be my favorite series, and i read almost constantly when i was a kid, but now its my 3rd favorite. Pellinor is now my 1st, and Chronicles of Ancient Darkness is my 2nd. you should give them a shot, you may find they surprise you.

LOL, thats so funny that you mentioned that, I have that book somewhere and never finished it for whatever reason.

I think my taste is generally a little less mature than yours but let me think... Like nothing is really coming to mind, but I think I'd go with The Naming. I read it a long time ago, but I remember thinking it was fairly serious feeling, and I thought the world was very cool. I read more for the world being described than anything else :/
