But, some quick and dirty tips for stresses. Try whispering the word or sentence to yourself very quietly. The syllables that will sound the loudest are most likely the stressed ones.
Also, try switching stresses in syllables if you're not sure. For example: we pronounce window as WINdow (stressed, unstressed). But if you say winDOW (unstressed, stressed), it sounds wrong. Try playing around with stresses until it sounds right--because it's really easy to know when it's wrong.
