Not true at all. Several nations, like Sweden, are still Christians only. We also have Catholic masons attending special masses with Catholic Bishops in the Philippines.

America has a long history of Masons attending Christian service together in full masonic regalia, including George Washington. Historical lodge minutes also show Christian sermons being given during lodge.

There are some theories that the Irish Rebellion of 1798 and tensions between the Grand Lodge of Ireland, the Grand Lodge of Scotland, and the Grand Lodge of England were a factor in the English Modern's attempt to distance itself from Christianity. Given the War of 1812 between the US and Britian which included British troops torching the White House and the rest of Washington DC, American freemasons were not concerned much with what happened in English Freemasonry at the time.

Nor did London freemasons themselves buy it. The Moderns quickly fell in both membership numbers and their ability to fund any charities. Their Grand Master, after being elected, failed to attend Grand Lodge or any London masonic event for multiple years, finally appearing only at the election of his successor. Meanwhile, the Antients, who continued to cling to the old ways of freemasonry, both grew in numbers and flourished in London until they were equal, then eclipsed, the failed secularist experiment of the Moderns.
