A number of things from this post might help you too.

There are explaining texts and resources there, and also hints concerning looking for support. For example PFLAG may know someone parents may accept as authorities.

And here are a few more resources that could help :

And here is a review by Maren that may help parents understand that things can be different for younger generations :

And suppressing how people really feel often leads to unhappyness and it can also lead to issues like depressions etc. Those can improve vastly after treatment.

And its a trans spectrum. With a high enough number of people there will always be some who are undecided, or on the fence. What they feel does not have implications on others who have it to different degress.

And there can be a vocal minority there. The vast majority has the opportunity to be more happy and tries to live as the gender they identify with, and tries to blend in.

And in general a number of things from this post might help you too.

There is a vid with questions in the resources. Answers could help talk to a therapist in case. Some people ask for a therapist for reasons concerning emotions ( which is true) and pick someone who has, amongst others, gender on their list. They may help explain later.

There is a vid there with unobtrusive things that can be done for motivation, there are hints concerning presentation, starting with neutral styles first, there are hints concerning looking for a gender therapist, and there are also hints concerning looking for support there.

And persistently and in depth questioning gender assigned at birth can be a sign in itself. Cis people usually do not do this. For them its a few short thoughts of how it might be, and they move on.

"The Transgender Guidebook: Keys to a Successful Transition" -- by Anne Boedecker. Fantastic book.

It helped me learn to cope, learn that I am worth something, etc. It was an awesome adjunct to therapy.
