I would strongly recommend you read Linda Monk's "The Words We Live By."

It is a very easy and interesting read that will give you a very good overview of the Constitution and the development of Supreme Court precedent. It is also very balanced, exploring arguments from all sides.

I wish I would have read it prior to law school, it would have really helped me put things in perspective during that first year.

Also, considering you are going to law school, I assume you have a genuine interest in the law, so this book should be nothing but fascinating for you.
