Thor: God of Thunder OHC Volume 1, which is the entirety of the God Butcher/Godbomb arc.

Hey, welcome to /r/comicbooks! This is definitely the place to ask any questions you have about comics!

I think you've got a pretty good list there. Here's a few more of my personal favorites that I think would fit in well with the kind of comics you want:

I'll look into it tomorrow. Need to figure out how to use it but shouldn't be a problem.

Just to check, this is the one you're looking right?

Hi!

For starters, we got a big ol' recommended reading list that should suit most of your needs. Most of these characters have also had some kind of reboot/relaunch in recent years, so looking around for anything with their name attached and "Volume 1" is a pretty good way to get started if you're so inclined. For example...

Batman (note that this story is about 12 issues, so you'd want volume 2 to go along with it)

Deadpool

Spider-Man

Thor

Black Panther hasn't had anything major recently, I don't think, but he has a new series starting soon. Also please note that except for Batman and Thor, I cannot personally attest to the quality of the comics I've linked. There's also some even more recent stuff, but it's not collected yet like these are.

No worries, man!

With 30 usd you can probably get the Batman story, "The Black Mirror" (I am the one who is not a fan of Batman haha that's why I said it :P, so me actually recommending a Batman story is a big deal haha) and the first volume of Runaways, honestly you could read only the first volume and be done with it (the one I linked on my previous post), volume 2 could be a nice bonus but not necessary, Volume 1 has a complete story and a lot of people consider vol. 2 to not be as good. I would go with those with your budget.

And regarding Thor, no, "The Mighty Thor" is like his second run with the character, this is the first one. In "The Mighty Thor" it is a "new" character.

Haha, I agree, everything Rush is amazing.

By the way, in addition to amazon, check out http://www.instocktrades.com/ sometimes they have better prices. For example, the Runaways Vol. 1 Hardcover is like 4 bucks cheaper there http://www.instocktrades.com/TP/Marvel/RUNAWAYS-COMPLETE-COLLECTION-TP-VOL-01/MAY140939

Volume 1: The God Butcher collects the first five issues of the run, which make up the "God Butcher" arc.

Plain old Volume 1 collects the first eleven issues, comprising the "God Butcher" and "God Bomb" arcs, which are actually just one big, super badass story. Definitely get this one. It's over double the content for an extra five bucks.
