You cannot physically suck water up with any pump from deeper than about 33 feet, so 35 is just too much for the laws of physics.
However, what you can do is put a pump at the bottom of the well, or about 3 feet down from surface

I might also suggest seeing if you can stick a garden hose with one of those narrow "jet" nozzles at the bottom of your old well, and pumping in water (from some sort of container) to see if you could wash out the sediment.
