Amazon sells high quality, relatively inexpensive cable extensions. Everyone seems to focus on cablemods, but there are others that are just as nice for a fraction of the cost.

I have this exact kit, and it's fantastic.

If you add a set of sleeved cable extensions like this one it'll look amazing.

This a good build for 1080p 60hz, and you can even get a 1080p 144hz monitor with Freesync if you want to play lighter games (like Rocket league, CSGO, Siege, Overwatch, etc) at higher framerates, and still enjoy a smooth experience in AAA titles thanks to freesync.

Thanks a lot! It's just the regular GTX FTW. And here's the link to the extensions!

They're a bit too rigid for my personal tastes, even with the combs the 24 pin came out too loopy for my liking. I think I might return them and go for just actual white cables from cablemod or something (got a promo code from the z270E mobo)

u/OriginalDrunkenChav · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

yep, standard normal form factor cables. You can even get them to match your colour scheme. If you go to amazon a good example is is from UpHere

(these are extensions, you would just want a modular kit but just a starting point for you to look from)

Ayyy Maryland represent lol.

Anyways, here’s something I threw together that should go with your aesthetic:

It needs a Windows key, you can pick one up off of eBay for ~$5, and I would buy a set of white cable extensions, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/uphere-Sleeved-Cable-extension-extra-sleeved/dp/B06XNV7H6Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=cable+extension+pc&qid=1565993407&s=gateway&sprefix=cable+e&sr=8-3
u/Kittenpics4eva · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

I received these cables today. I am extremely underwhelmed by the gauge of the wire used. The wires are extremely thin. They are about half the diameter of this extension set that I purchased a few weeks ago. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XNV7H6Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1. The cablecombs that I ordered with the set would not even stay in place. They just slid back and forth because the wire isn't wide enough for them to grasp.

Although the jackets seem to be of higher quality, I am not sure that I will be keeping them. Since they are a complete replacement cable instead of just extensions, they will reduce clutter in the case, but this is not an issue (for me) as I have a PSU shroud and a cable management behind the motherboard. Since I bought these purely for aesthetics, I am going to keep my off brand extension set installed. I can barely believe that they normally charge $80.00 for these. BTW the pics on the Amazon (which look pretty good) are of the sets with higher power ratings. I had assumed that the only difference would be the number of cables included, but I was mistaken. The wires for this light duty set are definitely thinner. I would not recommend using these for any higher wattage PSU...

u/TheCarpenter671 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Extentions are good if you have the room to manage them, otherwise they are clunky and you need replacement modular cables. Personally I bought these but its not too much pressure on this and just go with what you like, but make sure you get the cables for your system, bundles are not universal.

I use "cheater cables" lol, you can't tell any difference from the front and they are like a quarter of the price as full length cables :)

u/trieu26 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

There are some like these or cable mods, but those are more expensive. Your PSU in the list is not fully modular so the 24 pin connector to the motherboard would not match the rest.

u/justfrankie · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

yes! here is pcpartpicker list

and here is the white cables

u/centennialShrine · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

check out the corsair iCue 220T. it comes with 3 LL120 fans and a hub for like 83$. Thats less than the 3pack of fans cost on their on XD

also if youre looking for an insane deal the 2700x is 160$ right now and the 2600x is 120$. the asrock b450/b450m pro4 are also much cheaper and robust boards for overclocking and will support 2nd gen just fine.

You might just have to buy a whole pack, you can probably sell the extras on eBay.

u/jasaevan · 1 pointr/buildapc

I am looking at the exact same thing (white). I do like the looks of cablemods pro line but completely lost me on the crazy flat shipping cost.

I am looking at link below on Amazon. Not sure if it is really good or not.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNV7H6Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_wSoSBbDZ67S14

Not sure you want to replace cables or just get extensions for power cords

u/Obi_John · 1 pointr/buildapc

No, I bought some custom extended cables (https://www.amazon.com/uphere-Sleeved-Cable-extension-extra-sleeved/dp/B06XNV7H6Y/) to make it look that way.

u/Trevor02297 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

They're upHere cable extensions. They were $30 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNV7H6Y/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_E90-BbN52KG3G

u/swoethley · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

OP this is probably your best bet. You can also get white cable extensions if your'e really going for the white color scheme like these

https://www.amazon.com/uphere-Sleeved-Cable-extension-extra-sleeved/dp/B06XNV7H6Y?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_5

u/SinisterPixel · 1 pointr/buildapc

Congrats! A nice set of parts. I'd look up some cable management tips/tutorials on YouTube just to make the cabling a little better in the future, I'd also suggest using your one LED fan as rear exhaust, as it probably has a slightly lower RPM than your current rear fan, meaning your airflow will be better, not to mention the LEDs won't look so out of place.

Essentially, I'd revisit it a little for asthetics but otherwise a solid build to be sure. Some white sleeved extension cables would probably also really help in bringing this bad boy together.

u/Trainraider · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Consider this: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/T3Vnvn

The 1060 is a few years old now, and it's going to start getting disappointing soon in new games over the next couple years. I'd say either get an RTX 2060, or wait for a new card to launch at the same price point with much better performance. Getting a 2060 should allow you to experiment with developing games with raytracing which will be mainstream eventually.

Save money on a cheaper lower capacity SSD and follow this guide to move the windows users folder to the hard drive: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1964-move-users-folder-location-windows-10-a.html
That way all your personal junk files automatically end up on the HDD not SSD, while the OS, and installed programs, and a couple of your favorite games benefit from the speed of the SSD.

Get a cheaper motherboard. It won't affect performance, but could slightly reduce overclocking potential slightly. Nonetheless the benefits of a more expensive motherboard are not worth the money.

Seagate Barracuda hard drives are faster than WD blue at the same price.

Get a cheaper PSU. Just make sure it's 80+ rated and has 2 pcie 6+2 pin power cables.

Not sure this subreddit helps you in AU but r/buildapcsales is great for saving money. I'd recommend making a new email and signing up to receive emails on promotions and sales from every PC component retailer you can think of, including places like eBay who've had a couple 20% off sitewide sales in the past. You may find that your local retailers have eBay accounts you can buy new parts from. By sale hunting I recently saved hundreds on a PC build for a friend. Spent <800 USD instead of 1000-1100 USD. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Trainraider/saved/gGQr6h

If you want your build to be extra sexy, get custom sleeved PSU extension cables like these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNV7H6Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_juhBCbW6M0S2Y
And RGB strips. Buy a 3 or 4 way RGB splitter cable or hub to connect lots of RGB devices.

The number of case fans you need for good cooling depends on the case. Make sure you have an equal or greater number of dust filtered intake fans than exhaust. This creates positive pressure and keeps dust out of your PC.

u/cfbModsAreAssMyDude · 1 pointr/battlestations

These are reasonable and would look great in your case!

In my build h200i I use these white extensions from amazon

Pics for reference. I’ve had them in this build for over a year and I still like them.

u/NotMocha · 1 pointr/buildapc

So these PSU cable extensions and cable combs would work?

u/seriosbrad · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Riser isn't really the correct term, a riser is typically in a card or thin cable extension form. Usually for mounting GPU's vertically, like you mentioned.

What you might want is a brace (example). I think I've seen a vertical adjustable brace too. GPU sag really isn't an issue though, unless it bothers you aesthetically.

Also, you could always get white extension cables to hide that extra plug. UpHere is a great brand, I bought a black extension kit recently, they are really nice.
