You don’t have to use the 5W charger ya know.

Also, swipe down on any page of the home screen to access a search widget that is full system search + web search. And Hey Siri is a thing. Also I can only assume you knew going into it that you were getting an LCD screen so I feel like you shouldn’t complain about it.

There’s also a newer that’s coming soon from Anker in a smaller form factor.

Apple USB C to Lightning cable plus a USB C power delivery charger like this one. Fast as safely possible.

Edit: and yes we agree that Apple should be providing something like this out of the box. Not a shitty white brick that trickles.

What you are doing is dangerous, I strongly recommend you just throw that dongle away.

You CANNOT go from USB Type-C to any other type of port with a dongle. That is explicitly forbidden by the USB spec for good reason, as USB C can supply such high amounts of charge, converting blindly to other ports can cause fires.

The short answer to your problem, is you're going to need to buy a USB Type-C to mini/micro USB cable, and not a dongle. The cable will know it's only a mini/micro port and be incapable of charging at the full USB Type-C speeds, but it will charge your speaker properly.

The dongle you own is trying to trick the USB C cable into working with a different type of port, which is why it could be very dangerous because the USB cable itself doesn't know what type of charge to properly send.

If you want to use a dongle, you have to go the other direction, with micro/mini to USB C, which will then limit USB C to the slow charge speed that the cable can actually handle.

EDIT: Just to note, since your pictures are very vague. If that Samsung charger does not have a detachable cable, you'll also need a different charger, where the USB C cable is detachable.

Here are some suggestions to get you down to just a single charger and 1/2 cables:

I'm pretty happy with this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DFGKFM3/ and picked up this cable https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071WNXY1R/ to go with it. Fast charges my Samsung Chromebook Plus (v2) and also my Note 8. If your CB is 30 watt or below, it should do a fine job. It's pretty small, doesn't take much room in a bag even though the prongs don't fold. I would guess that any PD charger that supplies at least what your old one did will work fine as well.

I’d recommend the newer version of what /u/Duglitt recommended.

Anker Atom. Uses GaN instead of silicon so it can deliver 30W in the rough size of the iPhone’s 5W brick.

Far from ideal... consider PowerPort Atom PD 1 with a USB-C to Lightning Cable.

Lightning to C cable I use an Anker, a Mophie one and the apple one. If you need links let me know

Now I understand what you’re saying, and I know that it will charge the phone fast, so maybe I shouldn’t have said charge fast because I know the difference. However, since iOS doesn’t really indicate any other way your phone is PD charging it’s really hard to tell

u/jmcg0192 · 2 pointsr/ipad

Get two of these. You would need a usbc to lightning cable to use the mini, but not with the pro. Also these are 30w so they’ll charge both devices fast. Bonus if you have iPhone 8’s or newer, as those could benefit from the fast charging as well.

I was actually thinking the same thing, but for those who don't need to charge up a smaller laptop, this lil brickwill do the trick too. On that note it is also a great choice for those looking to match that "Apple Aesthetic."

I bought this for use on the go. USB C Charger [GaN Tech], Anker 30W Ultra Compact Type-C Wall Charger with Power Delivery, PowerPort Atom PD 1 for iPhone 11/11 Pro/Max/XS/XR, iPad Pro, MacBook 12'', Pixel, Galaxy, and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DFGKFM3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_MxHRDbX4ABHRC
It's very small and leave the one it came with at home to use there at my desk

I have a 13" 2017 MBP, and wanted a combo charger for travel that would charge both my MBP and my iPhone. I went with this one that outputs 30W on the USB-C port for the MBP.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FCFCRX6

I've been using it for a few days and it works amazingly well. Even when I'm doing all of my normal work stuff with tons of Office apps open, web meetings going on, etc. it still provides enough juice to top-up the battery.

It's no smaller than the Apple 61W charger, but packs more functionality. Anker has a single port 30W charger that would be significantly smaller than the Apple 61W - it's tiny.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DFGKFM3'

I'll probably pick one up once it's finally in stock in the coming weeks.

The moral of the story is don't overlook the 30W chargers, they work just fine for a 13" MBP unless you're doing stuff like gaming or video editing for long stretches of time.

I looked into the Ravpower GaN charger and saw some reviews that it can be a problem with some outlets while traveling. It's thin but really wide, so if your hotel/airplane/work outlet is in a tight spot you may not be able to plug it in.

I strongly recommend 30w Aukey usb-c charger as a travel companion. It is true that it is slightly underpowered (compared to 45w) but it is ridiculously compact(size of a lighter) and lightweight(50g).

https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Delivery-Ultra-Slim-Compatible-More-Black/dp/B07LBG1C3Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?keywords=aukey+usb-c+charger&qid=1558882956&s=gateway&sprefix=aukey+usb-c+cha&sr=8-9

It is rated 30w max but you gonna get 27w as XPS supports 9V x 3A and not 15v x 2A.

Seems like Anker has a model even more compact, but I haven't tested its compatibility with xps13
