OK, so I'm late to the party but have to chime in:

Technically, Marines currently in combat will be using FROGs and not the standard MARPAT uniform, but whatever it works. The plate carrier issued to Marines is the Improved Modular Tactical Vest. But Marines in Afghanistan can be issued the Eagle Industries Scalable Plate Carrier. That can be had on eBay for cheapish.

Helmet is a Lightweight Helmet.

The Marines are now largely using the M4 with an ACOG, PEQ-15, and sometimes a Surfire weaponlight or vertical foregrip depending on that Marine. Aimpoints were pretty much never used. The M16A4 was once used, and still is but being replaced by M4s. M16A4 is fully railed, with top rail and set up as the M4 above.

The arrangement of pouches does matter a bit. Current SOP is three mag pouches (usually across your front) at least and your IFAK on the right side. Beyond that, you're supposed to have grenade pouches but not necessarily anything else. Proper mag pouches are Eagle Industries but these are identical and work well:
