It was when I decided that my relationship with my fiance needed to end. I didn't want it to, but I accepted months ago that it would be best. I loved her with all my heart for so long and I wanted to keep on loving her, but I wasn't getting what I needed in the relationship. She wasn't capable of giving me what I needed and I was miserable. I'd fallen out of love with her but didn't want to admit it because then I'd be proving every "One day you'll see how awful I am and leave me" right. I finally did something for myself and told her I couldn't do it anymore. It hurt so much and I felt like I'd made a mistake, but even with how badly it hurt, I knew it had to be done. Since then I've started doing things for myself instead of spending my life trying to be everyone else's caretaker. It's felt amazing and I wish I'd started sooner, but at least I started when I did.
