These kits are pretty good as they have a variety of brushes of different sizes aswell as dotting tools, but i think these ones are better for detail and are better quality.
I would recommend getting a good topcoat and basecoat, it'll make a big difference using a good topcoat. My personal favourite is HK Girl by Glisten and Glow. This stuff is the best, it will literally make any manicure look good lol. As far as basecoats go I use Orly Bonder and if im using glitter then I'll use Opi peel off basecoat.
Also a flat eyeliner brush is great for cleaning up around the edges of the nails, and make sure she uses 100% acetone (not nail polish remover) to do this.
Acrylic paint is great for painting on details as it's a lot easier to work with and any mistakes can be easily fixed.
Nail vinyls are also really fun and a lot easier than frehanding designs, there's tons of websites to get them from like:
