Great! Thanks for the tips. Haha the chairs are actually recliners...but didn't think the detail of the chairs mattered as much as location. They can and WILL be moved to best suit the environment.

I also am going to have a fairly large entertainment unit to house the xbox, cable etc. below the mounted TV and was going to use this to help hide the wires going from unit to TV. For that speaker system you mentioned (haven't had a chance to look through it all yet) are there going to be wires everywhere? Is that why you suggest having wires run all through the walls on the sides?

I'll be going through those other posts you mentioned and hopefully grow my knowledge base.

its pretty common to run everything through the wall except for power. installing a new outlet is extremely simple and you should have no issues with that. as for the other cables I would recommend getting a nice faceplate to neaten it up a bit. Such as these:
