Can you mount it to the wall? From a functional perspective I think where the racquet is on one of these arm brackets. You could keep the stand underneath of it as a media console

There are absolutely no triple 30" monitor stands or mounts out there. I could only find a 27"x3 stand.

In the end I used for single screen tv mounts. Gives greater flexibility. Hard to apply on a drywall(Gyprock), but i was lucky i have a pure cement wall.

I used 3 of these:VideoSecu ML531BE

Dirt cheap, but didn't ship to UAE. Shipped to one of those forwarding warehouses. 3*25=$75. Great! Shipping forwarder charges me $275 shipping because of weight :(

Sometimes I wish i lived in the States just for the damn cheap shipping and shopping.

u/TheHumbleVeteran · 4 pointsr/battlestations

You'd be surprised how cheap these things can be nowadays

u/camplightsatnight · 2 pointsr/DiWHY

I got mine for $29 at amazon and it's a full motion swivel articulating arm. It can hold my 46" TV 20" from the wall. AND it came with an HDMI cable and a 6" bubble-level. That bubble level has been very, very useful.

It was pretty easy to install - Kinda wish it was one of those cool hydraulic arms, but a good one of those is quite expensive.

Here is the mount I use for my TV if you are interested. Really low price, nice and sturdy and give a lot of flexibility if I want to pull it forward towards my monitor or put it up against the wall.

Any strong VESA mounting arm that only actuates in one two dimensions (one that doesn't move up and down) and has a capacity over 50 lbs.

Here's one with a particularly good weight capacity: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WYVBR0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Make sure you mount it onto a stud!

Just moved into this apartment and there is only one wall that I can put the bed against in my room. Unfortunately, there are no viable places to mount a tv on the opposite wall (all taken up by closet doors.) I thought there was a stud in between the closet and the window but I was wrong. Is it possible to mount the tv onto the wooden frame right next to the window? I have the following TV mount and a 37 inch TV.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WYVBR0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I was also considering mounting it on the wooden beam in between the two windows. It would be much closer to the bed which isn't ideal but I just need to find somewhere to mount it. Lastly, if i were to mount it to one of these surfaces, how difficult would it be to repair the holes/damages from doing this?

u/qovneob · 2 pointsr/DIY

You probably want a beefier wall mount for a 42". I suspect the one you got is in a stud so you can mount a new one over it, but they used the wrong hardware on it. Those are supposed to be hung with lag bolts, not wood screws and washers. So you might be able to reuse one (or both) holes but they might need to be drilled out a little wider

Something like this should fit and cover the existing holes.

u/Bezike · 2 pointsr/GoodValue

I used something like this with my TV at my old place (42 inch TV I believe):

https://smile.amazon.com/VideoSecu-ML531BE-Monitor-Articulating-Extension/dp/B000WYVBR0/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1501772684&sr=1-3&keywords=tv+mount

It held up well, make sure you use the proper mounting procedures. Make sure you take a look at the angles it can turn and such and make sure it's what you want before you pick one out.

u/niceflipflop · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

You bet. The good news is that TVs are getting so light these days that the mounts are getting smaller and smaller.

So if you do opt for an extension/swivel, many of them only require a single stud for mounting to.

Like these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WYVBR0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Lr6vzbHPC02RV

Much smaller footprint than your current bracket.

Cheers.

VideoSecu ML531BE TV Wall Mount... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WYVBR0?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I have one of these for each monitor but Im sure there are comparable and cheaper models that do the same job

u/Jack_Raiden · 2 pointsr/hometheater

Commercial A/V installer here, simple solution! Your TV's Vesa mounting pattern is 400x400. I recommend a single stud wall mount cable of a 400x400 pattern.

There will definitely be a stud between the two windows, use a reliable stud finder to mount this. You can use an articulating mount with a 16" back plate but is more work to mount. Your TV is light and a single stud mount will work perfectly.

u/svirbt · 2 pointsr/hometheater

Well the problem right now is that most tvs people will recommend are going to be hard to find because they have since mostly discontinued last model year and are trying to sell out of them before this model year comes out which is usually between March and June. So as far as getting a good deal, now is the time just ready yourself for potential disappointment if you cant find the one you are looking for.

Getting to my recommendation. With the windows there and if there are no windows behind you, go for a nice plasma and mount it on that wall with an articulating wall mount. Just be sure that the mounting pattern on the back of the tv is at most 400mm x 400mm.

u/-_galaxy_- · 2 pointsr/cade

Absolutely. You can configure certain games (Pac-man, digdug, etc) to automatically start in portrait mode.

Here's my mount, works great and a bit cheaper than the one you listed (also comes with a free HDMI cable and a level) :

This mount has been on two different walls both with great results, but it's not super low profile. It has an arm that lets you bring it out from the wall a bit.

Anyway, here's some pictures of my pedestal setup (I dismantled it recently ) :

This is the mount I got. I'm going to try to mount it either during this week or over the weekend. I'll let you know how it works.

u/milhuevos · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

Yes this is for a TV mount, the good thing is I have an idea of how the studs are laid out, I just need to locate the middle at this point.

For reference, this is what I'm working with: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WYVBR0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In terms of the drill size, I'm using a 5/32" drill bit.

u/torena · 1 pointr/DIY

The TV is 46" and the mount I got is this one. I guess what I need to know now is whether that IS a stud or not? Does it qualify for mounting? I can put plywood up on two studs but sadly it won't be centered on my wall anymore :(

u/Bathroomdestroyer · 1 pointr/DIY

I have my 50" TV mounted to a single stud with two lags. It's an arm mount and the TV is only about 40 pounds though.

OP, why not get a piece of nice plywood to attach to your mount, then use the lags to put into the top of the mount. This is going to be hard to explain, but if you mount the bottom mounting holes to the plywood(use nuts and bolts with the bolt head on the backside flush with the plywood), and the top lags through the plywood and the studs. Then you only make two holes in the wall and the mount is secure. The bottom may try to pull away from the wall when you adjust the TV though.

The bottom has it's force going into the wall and down, while the top has the force going away from the wall and down.

Get a single stud mount. I have had this one for almost two years now. You may need a set of these as well.

u/dustinr26 · 1 pointr/ultrawidemasterrace

I have same monitor and for mine I used this one

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WYVBR0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Due to the back of the monitor being angle though and not flat I went to Home Depot and bought several plastic spacers to have it stick out off the back I can attached photos after I post to show you. But I has been great wall mount I had it previously already for my Dell 27inch S2716DG 2560/1440 144hz Gsync before upgrading to Ultrawide.

Took screw in to find best fit and bought two and electircal taped them to make sure didnt touch against monitor you will see in pics. Been up for over a year no issues and I do pull and shift at time off wall no issues what so ever.

I never read anything about that - what were people saying?

As long as your mount doesn't wobble, youre fine.

The first wall mount I ordered (because I was just going by weight) was wobbly with this TV so I then ordered this one and it is sturdy as can be.

u/Santiagodraco · 1 pointr/ValveIndex

Quick release stands should be fine if you need them. As long as the lighthouses are stable anything works.

I bought the FastCap mounts... and didn't use them. They are overly obtrusive and you are much better served, imo, by installing small corner shelves or just mounting the lighthouse's included stands to the wall. It's really not worth putting up those stands. They are neat but imo not the best way to go.

For my VR room I used the following to provide unobtrusive access to the VR Pc (note the PC is in the closet and the door can be closed when in use):

Keyobard mount (I then used a Logitech keyboard and trackball with magnets to secure them when the mount is closed): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018D5ALDY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

TV wall mount and a 4k TV (40 inch). One note here... I don't recommend this for a larger 4k tv like what I have here as you are too close to the display when using the keyboard. It's great for people to see whats going on while observing but it's harder to work with when accessing the PC out of VR. Use a smaller display.

TV and mount:

TV Mount:

I'll post pictures of the room sometime. I like what the OP did with the gym mats. Good look and protection but if you do your chaperone properly it's probably not necessary (but certainly doesn't hurt).

Lastly I have all of the equipment running on Smartthings controlled switches so I can power on the "room" (PC, display, lighthouses, etc etc) on demand. I normally turn off the PC normally and have BIOS set to power on the PC when power is restored (ie the Smartthings switch is turned on). So I can tell my Amazon Echo to "Alexa, turn on the VR Room" and everything powers on and is ready for use when I get there.

u/dfinf2 · 1 pointr/DIY

Good job on the project, but they do make cheap mounts, although they are wall mounts I own both of these which would have been cheaper.

This is correct. All of the mounts will instruct you to drill into the studs and will have a weight rating. I have had a 32" wall-mounted with this for over six months now and it has worked perfectly.

u/MMfuryroad · 1 pointr/hometheater

Or you could do what this Amazon purchaser did with this same wall mount. On a lot of things requiring installation of some kind I often read many of the Amazon reviews for ideas like this. It's how I got a good idea for mounting my larger side surrounds speakers so that I could slide them forward or back on the wall with just a slight push. Where there's a will there's a way.

Hi, thanks for chiming in.

Nothing huge. Likely between 40 and 55 inches. The mount is a VideoSecu ML531BE - that claims to support screens up to 88 lbs.

Most 40-55 inch screens I am seeing are around 35lbs, give or take 10lbs.

I figure by the time the next upgrade comes around, in 10ish years, the mountable portion of the tv will be next to nothing regardless of size.

u/jetcopter · 1 pointr/DIY

I would buy a mount similar to this (http://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Articulating-Extension-Post-installation-ML531B/dp/B000WYVBR0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1381798137&sr=8-2&keywords=tv+mount) and mount it on a post.

A Plexiglas enclosure may be a little elaborate and cost upwards of $100 in parts alone. I would just make a cover for the TV with a good quality tarp and put it over the TV when not in use.

I am using this mount: VideoSecu ML531BE TV Wall Mount https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WYVBR0?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf since I was very paranoid as well (also had a pillow on my desk for like a week, especially since it is made of glass). It works great, holds a lot of weight and has a good range of motion.

I do not have a second monitor, but if I did I’d probably mount it above if that was possible with a wall mount. I think a desk mount is better for mounting two, unless there’s some way to make a wall mount hold 2. If that wouldn’t work I’d flip it on it’s side next to the ultrawide for reading webpages/text/whatever. I use that at work for software dev and it’s pretty convenient.

u/DrummerDKS · 1 pointr/Televisions

I ended up getting the TV! I also have been using this wall mount for a few years now, it'd done well by me. It's also held a '08 50" plasma which was heavy as fuck and didn't have any issues.

It's a really solid set up, I'm super happy so far.

Hmm what I can think of is maybe buying 2 of these

And mounting one to the wall to just get distance from the wall, use a peice of plywood or something to be able to connect it to the second one (second one would need to be faced sideways to be able to tilt down)

Idk if that would work at all but only thing I can think of lol

u/MrDuck · 1 pointr/howto

That is a very 'special' monitor. Most monitors have what are called VESA compatibility, the base can be removed and the LCD can be attached to a standard mounting system, look up VESA on google for examples. I have seen some very impressive 4x2 screen systems set up with standard monitors and four position VESA monitor stands. This dell on the other hand does not have anything like that. You could use epoxy to try and attach it to a standard plate, or take the back off and put screws through the plastic, but for a good solution you will need a better monitor.

http://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-ML531BE-Mount-Plasma-Screen/dp/B000WYVBR0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1416890219&sr=8-2&keywords=vesa+mount

u/nolo_me · 1 pointr/buildapc

EVGA are generally well regarded for Nvidia. I couldn't tell you about 1440p monitors (I'm a 16:10 man myself) but look for one with VESA mounting, compatible wall mounts are fairly cheap.

u/PM_ME_YOUR_LUKEWARM · 1 pointr/DIY

I was planning on using the 65mm screws that came with the mount.

The studfinder I am using, also in the picture, does have the AC voltage detection. But, like you said, I don't know how accurate this is so I will be sure to very cautious.

As far as the wall material, I'm not sure what it's made of. I'm going to try to find out.

If interested, this is the mount I bought. Seems to be one of the most popular and versatile on Amazon.

Thank you for your response. Never even considered the material of the sunroom wall.

I'm not sure I can envision your room layout, so I don't know if this would work; but have you considered mounting a TV to a wall using an extendable swivel mount? That way a tv "over there" can be viewed "over here". Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WYVBR0

u/sirdudethefirst · 1 pointr/DIY

It's not very likely that your closet molding will hold the weight of a TV plus whatever you're planning on mounting the TV on.

What I would do is get 2 of these [exercise bars] (http://www.amazon.com/Sunny-Health-Fitness-Door-Chin/dp/B0016BNDXI) (or similar) and make a mount for your TV to hang on both of them. Depending on how deep your door frame is you can even tilt it down a few degrees. The concept is based on this sort of mount.

The bars are going to be placed across the door frame, one higher than the other to allow for the TV mount to be hang on them.

If you're experienced enough to build your own mount for the TV, go for it (it can be a bit tricky especially if you want to tilt, rotate and reposition the TV), or you can get something cheap like the link above and use only the part for the TV and store the part that is bolted to the wall for when you can drill holes to the wall.

You can also use this sort of mount to mount it on the exercise bars.

HTH.

Edit: more clarification.

Something like this should work https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WYVBR0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_iAz6xbJ7XREX8. Just mount it on the side. It might not be perfectly centered over the opening but it will work.

u/SwissMoose · 1 pointr/hometheater

I had a similar issue, with a built in that was big enough for a 30" 4:3 TV but wouldn't fit a 40" 16:9 HDTV. I ended up just cutting a custom shelf that bolted into the existing space but hung out of the cabinet just enough to support the stand of the new HDTV. Something light that might work for you and you wouldn't have to deal with a custom mount for each new TV.

Of if there is a solid wood mounting location on either side of that space you could just use one of these.
