The statements are misleading at best. Yes, there are subtle differences between the razors. But as best I can tell those differences are cosmetic, and do not change anything functional.

What's especially funny is that VB emphasizes the uniqueness of its TTO design. If they were just re-branding Baili razors, they ask, why wouldn't they re-brand other Bailis, too? That's not a particularly compelling argument, but it falls apart completely when you compare the Godfather to the BD191. Yeah, panting those stripes on the handle changes EVERYTHING.

The folks at Vikings Blade have gone to great lengths to emphasize that that their razors are somehow different than those sold directly by Baili. And they are, but it seems the only differences are that the VB razors have acid etching on the silo doors or painted stripes on the handle or other cosmetic additions. I haven't gone through the statements with a fine-toothed comb, but a quick perusal turned up nothing that refutes this.

In addition, I put a lot of weight on the statement below by /u/chiseledface. He's a vendor (owner of the Groomatorium, in fact) who has spent a lot of time looking at these things. As someone in the business who has no dog in this fight, I trust him a lot more than I trust the guys at Vikings Blade.
