May be phenomenology of dream and its epistemic and metaphysical implications? If you are going there, may be also go into the idea of 'dreamless sleep', and eastern debates. Can be an interesting area to go, because not many people in the West explores some of these concerns and debates that have existed in India. May be something to start with?: https://www.amazon.com/Waking-Dreaming-Being-Consciousness-Neuroscience/dp/0231136951 (Evan Thompson can be interesting to look into, in general. He have some papers on dreamless sleep too, IIRC).

Transcendental hypothesis may be interesting to look into because the argument draws much of its force from facts related to dreaming: http://www.jamestartaglia.com/publications/Illusionism.pdf

Eric Schwitzgebel (http://www.faculty.ucr.edu/~eschwitz/) may also be interesting to look into. You can take an epistemic and a skeptical direction to knowledge of consciousness through some data related to dreams:

May be mix-mash them.
