This one is one of my all-time favorites, and it's a wraparound, too.
I wound up buying Maynard's House after reading about it in Paperbacks From Hell (great book BTW), solely because of the evocative cover art.
All of Cherie Priest's Eden Moore novels have beautiful covers, and I started buying the Nightscript anthology series solely because I liked the first volume's cover. It's now up to volume 4.
One last one : The Midnight Tree by Charles Higham. Easily the worst book written in the horror genre in the 1970s, and I am not exaggerating. Mr Higham was a serious historian and biographer, and I think he cranked this one out in a fit of pique when "trashy horror novels" outsold his works. His contempt for his readers and the genre shows. Interesting cover art, though, and one worthy of a much better book.
