I play with the new-ish PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset and it rocks my brain. Mic and full blown sounds of war, hell yes.

u/jbigboote · 8 pointsr/PS3

the official Sony ones are pretty nice, and go on sale from time to time ($80 right now for example), but the MSRP is only $100, and they use up a precious USB port, so you may be looking for something a bit more high-end.

u/MisteReddit · 7 pointsr/headphones

Budget: $175 or less

Requirements for Isolation - I live in a dorm and want to block out sound from my roomate's tv

Prefered type of headphone - over ear

preferred tonal balance - don't really know, I want something that sounds good but have never had a good set of headphones

Past headphones - sony wireless stereo headset http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Stereo-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B0053OLY9O

Preferred Music - Alternative (Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys,), Indie, Rock, Classical music / Game soundtracks on occasion, Use with gaming on occasion.

I was considering Sennheiser HD 558 but they are open and I don't know how good that would be for my current situation. I was also considering Senn 439, but I would like to still have really good audio quality. Do closed headphones significantly isolate you from background noises enough to warrant a drop in quality?

u/KaneHart · 7 pointsr/PS4

This will make you cry but it was on sale for $20 the other day at FS/BB on their site. IDK if it was price error.

I have this old model: http://www.amazon.ca/PS3-Wireless-Stereo-Headset-Edition/dp/B0053OLY9O

What is this Gold Wireless like vs it?

u/OpticalNecessity · 6 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

For VoG/Crota, not really. Especially if you grab a sherpa run, where someone explains all the mechanics for you.

Getting into KF, though, a mic is pretty necessary as a lot of communication is needed from all members.

I own the Playstation Headset which are falling apart but I refuse to get rid of. Save up and buy a pair. I'm sure the newer "gold" model are good as well, I just have no personal experience with them.

u/microxerox · 5 pointsr/PS3

This is easily the best PS3/PC headset for the money. I got it the day it was released (September 6th) and gave it a lot of abuse and it still works like it did that September afternoon.

They are better than Astro A40 headsets at the cost of HDPVR and XBOX 360 incompatability.

They blow Turtle beach out of the fucking water.

I never used Trittons but I can't imagine them being better than these.

u/Grazsrootz · 4 pointsr/PS4

Here's Exactly what you are looking for. LINK
there are more inexpensive options, but this one is highly rated and comes with the optical cable

And then one of these to convert the Output (RCA) to 3.5mm
LINK

I'm going to be honest with you. By the time you buy this you would probably be better off buying an inexpensive surround souind with an optical input. Sony also makes wireless headphones that are compatible with the PS3 and PS4
I have this one and they work and sound awesome

i know i have played with a few of our guys that were just using a Bluetooth earpieces and i didn't hear them complain about noise. I for a long time just used an earpiece but had to upgrade to a new PlayStation manufactured wireless one, due to that I wanted game sound coming through the head set and not the speaker (don't need the kids running around repeating what they hear on GTA) plus easy mic set up. It’s real crisp with both in game sound and online chat. It’s about 70$ for it, used some Amazon points so got it cheaper but I have really liked. Also will be work with PS4 (not at launch but later in a firmware update they will put out).

Here is the link.

u/argyle-socks · 4 pointsr/PS3

Is it this mic?

With Battlefield 3, multiple users have noted headset problems and it seems like DICE is releasing a patch to address this. Is it just BF3 where you're seeing these problems, or in other games as well?

u/angeleus09 · 4 pointsr/PS3

The official PS3 wireless headset is far and away one of the best values for the money out there at around $100. Great sound, extremely comfortable, 7 hour battery life. If you don't want to spend that much I'd go with the either the Turtle Beach P11 or the PX21. Both are in the $50-$60 range but are also wired. But in all honesty I can't recommend SONY's wireless 7.1 headset highly enough.

u/foss333 · 3 pointsr/PS3

Sony Wireless Stereo Headphones

These work great with the PS3 and sound excellent.

u/JoeDaddio · 3 pointsr/bfvoip

It's a little wacky that Sony branded Playstation headsets won't work right away. I've got this headset that works really well and I'm not looking to drop another $100+ on top of the money I'm already spending on the system to upgrade a perfectly good headset, so it looks like you all may not get to hear my beautiful voice until they do the system update.

edit: I forgot that the PS4 comes with a "headset." So I guess I'll use that (what I assume will be a) POS for the time being.

u/Raivos · 3 pointsr/PS4

I have the one before the pulse elites, this one basically, and damn it sounds amazing. Perfect quality and i noticed i used it for pc alot more than i though i would, works great with skype aswell. Since the pulse elite is basically an upgrade i'm sure it would sound perfect aswell. I would say go for it dude!

u/Ni_No_Kun · 3 pointsr/gaming

I can highly recommend these. They are wireless and work great with PS3 and PC. They are super comfortable and I can wear them all night long even with my eyeglasses on.

http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Stereo-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B0053OLY9O/ref=cm_rdp_product_img

I am not sure what you mean by:
>PC Audio + Ps3 Audio at the same time

I don't think any headphones can receive two different inputs at the same time?

u/RisingBlackHole · 3 pointsr/PS3

Just a clarification on PS+. You will have these games available as long as you are subscribed to PS+. When I got my new PS3 last black Friday it came out with 1-month subscription. I downloaded some games and when the subscription ended I couldn't play them anymore. However, I got a year subscription last month and all these games I downloaded can be played again. Personally I think it's a great value. I'm playing games that otherwise I would've never played, like indie titles.

I suppose you were paying for XLive so you may be able to stay subscribed to PS+ once your trial ends. It's even cheaper than XLive. Sometimes there are deals when you'll pay less and get more than a year. Expect more info around E3. Check the PS+ subreddit for info on games and more deals.

PS+ Tip: Feel like getting a game but want to hang on a little? There's a risk that the game may be pulled out the Free Games List. So download it but cancel the downloading process. What did just happen? The game now is part of your purchase history. You can download it at any time and even if the game was removed from the Free Games List.

Headset? I'm pretty sure any bluetooth headset will do. I used to have one of these cheap bt headsets for cellphones and it worked good. The one I have now is around $100 but I got mine for $80. Works with PCs too and the sound quality is superb.

u/TauRyan · 3 pointsr/PS3

I like the original Official PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset for $70 at Amazon. I've had mine for a little over a year now. They sound fantastic, even a year later. They also work on the PC with no additional software.

The only downside is that I'd wish the battery would last a bit longer. I get about 4 hours out of it on a full charge. That's estimated from season binging on Netflix.

Good luck on finding the right headset!

u/ohmanitsjoseph · 3 pointsr/thelastofusfactions

I use the Sony PS3 wireless headset. It's pretty good. You can get it for much cheaper than $99 though if you look around.

u/CarnePopsicle · 2 pointsr/ps3bc2

I've got the Tritton AX 720, which I love, but seems to have some manufacturing issues where one side sometimes shorts out.

I'd probably wait for reviews on the official PS3 wireless headset coming out Oct 1st.

Redditor NineToez's review for the Turtle Beach P11 makes it look like a good budget option.

u/r_k_ologist · 2 pointsr/PS3

[$70 on Amazon] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0053OLY9O/). How did you get a PS3 cheaper than that?

u/cityboyphx · 2 pointsr/VinewoodLocos

I have The Official PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset and I'm 99.99% happy with it. When it's on, all game sound and chat audio goes to it. It has a slider for volume and another for audio/chat balance which is kinda nice. It's wireless, but rather than bluetooth it comes with a small USB dongle that drives it. Has a bit more weight and bulk than a regular bluetooth headset but I ultimately find it more comfortable. With the wide headband and cushioned ear cups, it kinda just sits on top of your head and stays there vs. pinching with the thin band type. A quick tap on the power/control button on the side toggles the microphone mute. My only complaint is the small LED on the microphone is blue when un-muted, and purple when muted, and I can't tell the difference between the colors when I'm wearing it. Seems like blue/red would have been much more obvious. In my experience I suspect you'll get 6-8 hours of playtime per charge, although I tend to plug mine in after every session so it's ready to go.

Here's the Amazon link. Lots of good reviews there too.

I believe Trent_W has the same one and mentioned he's happy with it as well.

Playstation Wireless Stereo Headset

Cant go wrong with this thing. Great sound, recharagable with same cable as controllers, MIC with great performance (mutable). Granted you do have to use the included USB dongle but really for such a great mic headset it works wonderful.

u/archaicruin · 2 pointsr/PS3

Amazon has them for 79.99. There are 469 reviews and they're sitting at right around 4.5 stars.

u/schnuck · 2 pointsr/mw3

it will. particularly with sitrep pro. it's confusing in the beginning but with time you'll start hearing the direction the footsteps come from and on which kind of surface the enemy is trampling on (grass, wood, stone etc.). if nothing at all, it'll warn you someone is just around the corner, so you can take appropriate measures.

i've bought this one and while it's nowhere near top of the range it's really good and has tons of great reviews. it's around $50. i am dreaming however of this one. PS3, 7.1

p.s. good luck getting sitrep pro, now that they've fixed the trophy system glitch.

u/RStiltskins · 2 pointsr/gaming

To be honest my bro gave me his wireless sony head set and i think it personally sounds amazing and is actually quite comfortable. and it works on the PC too.

Some people balk at the fact that I purchased Astro A40s... I love 'em and don't regret the purchase one bit but in your price range I'd say go with the new Sony Wireless [here]. I've heard great things about those.

[EDIT] That is IF you are on PS3... I didn't even think about that... Sorry, though I was in r/ps3.

u/cheetoburrito · 2 pointsr/ps3bf3

By "SONY WIRELESS HEADSET", do you mean these?

If so, how do you like them? I've been thinking about picking some up.

People always say that but I took care of my gold headset and they still broke after a few months. Yet I still have these that aren't broken and still work completely fine.

I really enjoy my ps3 headset. Link there's a newer, cheaper model, but this one has treated me well while playing dota.

I have the actual Sony ps3 headset sitting in my closet. Still like new http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0053OLY9O/ref=pd_aw_sbs_9?pi=SS115&simLd=1

It's pc compatible as well

u/scrufylooking · 1 pointr/buildapc

Just a thought...On the other hand you could go with a wireless head set if you're playing any multiplayer games (your online comrades don't want to hear your speakers over your Mike.

I dual purpose the Sony PS3 branded headset with my pc and ps3. The sound is excellent right off the bat, no moving of physical speakers around the room to find the sweet spot for an immersive game.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0053OLY9O?cache=7dc385d13d4cafc4b651651362824b2f&pi=SY200_QL40&qid=1405837653&sr=8-3#ref=mp_s_a_1_3

But I guess if your planning to use the speakers for movies and musics, this would be the way to go.

u/NeoDalto · 1 pointr/gaming

I've used Astros a lot and they are really nice but they arnt sturdy at all. I ended up having to buy a new one every year. The headset i would recommend would be a standard wireless PS3 headset. I got mine about 2-3 years ago and its still strong today. Its about average on price and sound but the microphone might be subpar. But holy crap these things were built to last. I've dropped it numerous times and it still works great. It's going two years strong and i dont think I'll need a new one any time soon. Looks like its on sale on amazon too.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0053OLY9O/ref=redir_mdp_mobile
EDIT: forgot to mention it works for PS3 PS4 and PC. I'm not 100% sure if it works for Xbox but i wouldn't bet on it. And being a long time multiplayer gamer. All i look for now is a sturdy headset and so far this is the strongest one I've come across yet.

u/Luke_Atmadik · 1 pointr/GYBB

I use these. I've had them for 3 years and I love em. My only complaint is that they're really squeaky, not the audio, but the whole headset in general. I use them to watch Netflix at night when my family is asleep. I don't know how the voice quality is, but I haven't had anyone complain.

u/JJMcGee83 · 1 pointr/PS4

I'm still using theis (PS3 headset)[https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0053OLY9O/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1]

Is this an upgrade? My headset cuts out on me sometimes and I'd like it if I didn't have to plug in a dongle when I wanted to use them.

u/Tsilent_Tsunami · 1 pointr/RedditDads

Wired: TurtleBeach Ear Force P11 (LINK)

Wireless: Sony Wireless Stereo Headset PS3 (LINK)

Both work great, and also plug into my Mac. Both have separate game/chat volume controls, and options to mute the mic. The Sony is more comfortable to wear all around; softer ear cushions, and a wide, soft head band.

u/_Kryptik_ · 1 pointr/playstation

Sounds like it's this one. Sorry, can't really say I know what the problem is, as I have no experience with it, but it's most likely losing sync for some reason or another.

If you haven't tried yet, you could attempt to reset the headset? Best of luck to you!

u/stegnersaurus · 1 pointr/GameDeals

I've been thinking about getting this headset for quite a while, but I already have the original Wireless Stereo Headset:

http://smile.amazon.com/Wireless-Stereo-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B0053OLY9O/

I still think this would be a good upgrade due to the headset companion app and the AUX jack for usage on 3DS/phone/whatever. Has anyone else used both headsets that can weigh in?

u/Vezperia · 1 pointr/gaming

Just pick up a wireless headset.

I have like 3 now, and i'm telling you its WELL worth your money.

My ps3 stereo headset works AMAZINGLY with every game, but it also works for PC gaming, which is spectacular.

Not sure what breaking the bank is for you but the official playstation wireless headset is pretty damned amazing. They are around ~75 USD

Works on PC as well. (I've tried it myself, I actually use it on PC more than on my ps3.)

There are over 1200 reviews and its at 4.4 out of 5 stars.

I am really happy with it, the microphone is very clear and the headset is comfortable. It also recharges with the same cord that your ps3 controller charges with. They last for 6-8 hours before a recharge is needed so pretty good for extended sessions.

Budget - 100-120€

Source - My PC and my iPhone 5c

Isolation - I would like some, not full-isolation but maybe some noise cancelling would be great

Public? - Yeah, while travelling

Preferred Type of Headphone - Full-sized

Preferred tonal balance - Overall balanced

Past headphones - I only had a pair of PS3 Wireless Headphones, I used them with my PC via a wireless USB and I like having no cables and that they were comfortable to use. They died yesterday (the USB dongle did) and Im looking to replacing them

Preferred Music - I would mostly use them for gaming, but music-wise I like Jake Chudnow and OSTs like Interstellar

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - To use it on the go with my phone (no USB or base required), and to be lightweight

Location - Spain, so amazon.es

Current Idea - The ones I feel satisfy better my needs are the Sony MDRZX770BNB. However, Im not too sure about the microphone quality (some reviews say its ok, others say its terrible). So, what do you think about this option?

Thanks for your time and answers :)

u/TheEternal21 · 1 pointr/PS4

Unless they changed the design, you want to stay away from Gold's. The hinges on those things are almost guaranteed to break within a few months of use. I've had it happen on 1 set, and figured it was a fluke. Should've read Amazon reviews before ordering a second set. Same issue - here's the pic of both sets, I crazy glued the first one, and taped the second: http://imgur.com/a/p3OLq
I'll never buy another Sony headset after getting fucked twice, especially not one with pointless hinges.

And I was real careful with both sets as well. In fact I have an 8 year old PS3 7.1 headset that still works great without any mechanical issues. But that one wasn't designed by a bunch of retards that decided put a shitty plastic hinge in it.

EDIT: Nope, they didn't change the design, still plenty of broken hinge issues reported by Amazon reviewers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R31UMFBTKN22VH/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00HVBPRUO

I don't know about your budget, but I had the Wireless Stereo headset for the PS3 the official one made by Sony and it worked fantastically for footsteps and directional audio. Granted, I'm not an audiophile like /u/72APTU72E, but it worked great for me so I thought I'd recommend it. I got it for about $90 online and it seems to be just above $100 on Amazon, but maybe you can find a deal somewhere. Happy gaming!

I personally own the Sony Playstation Headset. After doing research on wireless headsets, because I need a wireless headset, this one seemed to hit a good price/performance mark. My experience with it has been great. For me it has great sound quality (not an audiophile), good wireless range (20-30ft depending on walls) and strong battery life. Also light on the ears and comfortable even after a few hours. You charge it using micro-usb and has a small dongle that is USB. Working on the PS3 is just a bonus, because I mainly use it on my PC. http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Stereo-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B0053OLY9O/

I personally swear by my PS3 Headset (the original over-ear one: http://www.amazon.ca/PS3-Wireless-Stereo-Headset-Edition/dp/B0053OLY9O ). You don't get the virtual 7.1 surround on PC, but the wireless is great, the volume controls on the headset are easy to adjust and though sound is subjective, I love the mix on this one, with just right bass for gaming imo. And they are comfortable enough with glasses, definitely some of the most accommodating in that respect.

Say whaaaaa?? I own this one and it works with the ps4. Or does it work only because it's from Sony too.

u/AdonisChrist · 1 pointr/rva

I am selling a few electronic items that are in like new condition for good prices.

I've got:

  • A Model YHT-497 Yamaha 5.1 Channel Home Theater in a Box System. Comparable model new for $430, selling for $350. 100W per channel and the sub has a satisfying kick, discrete receiver, sub, and speakers so they can be upgraded separately down the road. Comes with a decent roll of cheap speaker cable.

  • An ARRIS/Motorola SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem, Model SB6121. New for $69, selling for $50. This has a three star certification for use with XFINITY internet services which is the highest and most thorough level of testing they do.

  • A Netgear Wireless Router w/ Dual Band Gigabit, Model R6300-100NAS. New for $150, selling for $120. This thing's just fucking great. I've never had any complaints about Comcast's service, and I think this guy (recently paired with the SURFboard) is the main guy to thank for that. I think I've had to reset it maybe once or twice ever.

  • Official PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset w/ USB Wireless Receiver, Model CECHYA-0080. New for $100, selling for $75. These are big bulky headphones with a microphone attached. Nice sound quality, though I'm sure audiophiles would disagree.

  • Monoprice speaker stands, set of 2. New for $15-20, selling for $10. These things are flimsy but they'll hold your small speakers off the ground just the same.

Now, you're probably wondering why I'm willing to part for such like new items at such discounts. The reason is that there was a fire a month and a half ago in my old building and these were affected by the humidity and/or smoke to varying degrees. But they're all back from the Electronics Restoration Service, who tested, restored, cleaned, and deoderized each individual component before testing them again to ensure proper function. I then tested each item when I resumed possession of them.

But, because of a gap in communication between the ERS guys and my insurance claim rep, getting these things back took over a month, and in the meantime I had replaced my sound system and internet devices. I'd hoped to be able to return them within the Best Buy returns timeframe but things dragged on too long. The speaker stands I don't need because in my new place I've mounted my rear speakers on the walls. The PS3 headset I don't need because my PS3 didn't make it through the ordeal. The 360 below it and the TV above it did, though, and both work fine as a testament to these guy's abilities.

Related to that I guess I also have a couple other things for sale:

  • A slew of PS3 games. No PS3 anymore and I'm not sure I'll replace it so these are for sale. All barely affected by the incident but still individually cleaned by the guys at ERS. Let me know if you're interested in something and I'll figure a price.

  • 2 PS3 Controllers, one black and one white. Note that they did not try to restore or clean these at all since the system was shot. You can test them and we can figure out a fair price if you're interested.

So yeah. Like new, restored items for good prices. Who's interested?

I have a similar problem. One of my cats has PICA so he chews everything plastic/wires etc. I can't go corded on my headset because he would eat through it. I looked into wireless options and the PS3 Wireless headset ended up being the best for me. I just bought mine used for $40 CAD IICR

I'm not sure if this is technically a PC building question, but I figured y'all would have opinions that would be helpful.

I've been using a PS3 wireless headset since around 2012-2013 and I have been pondering on what to upgrade to. The headset isn't really that bad, the battery life lasts around 4-5 hours on a full charge and sound quality is pretty decent, and if battery is a concern I have a 3 foot USB cable to charge it while using it. The main thing is that the microphone quality is very mediocre and the earpads are starting to flake.

Is there anything in the $50-100 range that vastly outdoes this headset? I have a pair of Audiotechnica M50x's, would a modmic 5 be a lot better?

Thanks amigos

Although they are designed for the PS3 they work on PC too. Oh, yeah, they rock also!

Sony PS3 Wireless Headset

The microphone retracts in and out, so it's not always out like that. Check out the amazon reviews:

Is that the PS3 wireless headset on your monitor?

http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Stereo-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B0053OLY9O

And if so how do you like it?

u/Mistrelvous · 1 pointr/PS3

Not sure you're going to find any new wireless ps3 headphones for under $50 CAD. Your limited options from Amazon are: you could buy the used/refurbished PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset for $60 CAD or you can buy this wired headset for $39 CAD and hope the cord is long enough. If you don't like the above two options, your best bet would be ebay, kijiji, or craigslist.

At times I find new games get trumpted by BF3/MW3. I bought Batman:AC and never play it because I am very much into BF3. There is always a chance you will buy him a game and he will continue to spend much of his gaming time in MW3. So, alternatively, you could get him:

A couple of these (they can get lost easily), I can't play without them -> http://www.amazon.com/Pelican-Triggers-Controller-Attachments-Playstation-3/dp/B001AW156U

Get him a 20/50$ psn card (map packs), a shit ton of sweet games on psn

Get him a psn+ membership, i don't have one, but people seem to like it

Youy can get these on sale for like $70 -> http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Stereo-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B0053OLY9O/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1322509544&sr=1-1

But then again, Skyrim always a good choice.

I'm up for it. Just got my headset and I think good team play is as good as it gets.

I bought a PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset a few days ago and I'm very pleased with it so far. I haven't used the microphone yet, but it's very comfortable and the sound quality is good. It's Windows and Mac OS X compatible, although some of the features only work with a PS3. I bought it specifically for computer use. It charges using a USB Mini cable (not included).

u/AsaBringman · 1 pointr/patientgamers

I have a pair of these and they are decent. I'm sure there are alternatives out there.

  • Grado SR80s when I'm listening to music alone (because they're open air). I really love the sound.

  • ARCTIC Sound P311 Bluetooth stereo headphones when I'm outside/listening to music through my phone. These are really convenient with volume and track controls on the left earpad. They charge through usb and sound great for what they are.

  • Sony PlayStation Wireless Stereo Headset when playing games on my PS3. I like the integration with the PS3 (UI display on screen) and the extendable mic. Sound is pretty good as well, at least for gaming.

If you can wait, they often go on sale at various retailers for ~$20 less. My wife got them for me for my birthday and I freaking love them. It resolved one of our marital disputes. The "Goddammit! I'm trying to sleep can you turn down your games/movie?" fight. The best part is that its usb based so you can just as easily use it for computer gaming as well. Speak of the devil...Amazon with free shipping

I just picked up the Pulse Elite Edition and it made The Last of Us even more enthralling. I browsed this subreddit and decided to get that one over the Regular Stereo Version as it just seemed to be that much better.

I included the amazon links so that you can do what I did: print it out and take it to Best Buy for a price match (yes, it worked).

This one

It's that one.

Edit: Fixed link.

£70 is about $100 right?

You should see if any shops near you have the Sony Stereo Wireless Headset.

I originally bought it for my PS3. Best headset I've ever owned, I was completely surprised, taken back, and blown away by it's quality. It was better than headsets I owned in the past that cost over twice as much.

My PS3 later broke, I moved, so the headset set in the garage for 2 years. Then one day I randomly came across someone saying these things worked for PC (I had wrongly assumed they would not work so I had never tried). So I plugged in the little USB dongle thing and turned them on and they worked beautifully, with no drivers or installation.

Very simple to use as well. Two sliders on each side. One is volume the other is a balance slider between voice volume and game volume.

I still use them to this day.

u/iEagleHamThrust · 1 pointr/buildapc

This may seem a little strange, but this Sony headset for the ps3 is actually really good. I just plug the BT dongle into my PC and they work great. The Amazon price is a bit high though. Of course, a headphones + modmic combo will probably still be better. Although in that line of thinking the VMODA boompro is my choice.

u/killbot0224 · 1 pointr/PS4

was that these ones?

https://www.amazon.ca/PS3-Wireless-Stereo-Headset/dp/B0053OLY9O

And this NEW one hasn't even been seen in the wild yet, afaik... so how can you say the old old ones were better? (just eyeballing, but the hinge in particular looks better than the Golds)

Like I said, a little expensive, but super nice headset! I've had mine for a few years and I don't regret dropping that money.

I know it says ps3, but they do work with ps4 and my laptop. It has a bluetooth USB device that you pop into a USB port and off you go.

u/magnetard · 0 pointsr/VoiceActing

I wish I had a better mic, but all I've got to work with is one of these, is that okay?

u/dsac · 0 pointsr/mw3

i have one of these, and highly recommend it. there's a slider to adjust the volume, and another to change the sound/chat balance, so if you're in a lobby with lots of innane chatter, you can quickly and easily turn it off.

u/yayparties · 0 pointsr/battlefield3

i have sennheiser hd280 pro i am contemplating getting the sony surround sound headset instead of a clip on mic because it has surround sound. How would you rate the increase in surround sound versus the loss in sound quality, because I am guessing that the loss in quality may not be very much versus the gain of perspective.

u/asdggd · -7 pointsr/gaming

Well my primary multiplayer game is Warhawk and that game pretty much requires teamwork to win. I'm sure if you play Call of Duty or Battlefield those games are pretty much designed around solo play. WH actually came with a mic which was pretty decent quality. I have the official Sony headset as well and that one is really good quality, though it hurts my ears a bit after a few hours. This official PS3 headset I heard is pretty damn comfortable though. Just expensive compared to my other ones.
