Ah, that is certainly a different issue. Some folks say there are wifi dongles that work now with Chromebooks, but you should always assume you are taking a risk when buying one. It shouldn't be too long before certain wifi chipsets are natively supported on Chrome OS. This link on Amazon has a wi-fi dongle that some say works with a Chromebook (you can search the comments). You'd need a USB C converter to use it as it has a USB A connector. But, if you feel like risking $15 or so, it might be a worthwhile experiment. One other thing you might try, just for fun... turn off Bluetooth and see if that does anything. If that doesn't work, once you notice the wi-fi is no longer working, see if the wifi on/off command I placed in the previous comment works. At this point I guess it can't hurt. Also, see if it occurs when it is plugged in to a power source and unplugged. Good luck.
