I borrowed some of my dad's hiking boots (Can't tell you the brand) but I mostly wore these shoes.

They are great if you won't hit much water, or if there isn't snow on the ground. Get wool socks (They dry faster) and learn to dry shoes over a fire. I fall under the belief that lightweight shoes that get weight is better than heavy boots that dont' get wet.
