u/Tekkatite - I would get the $449 (on sale) Zoom F4.
It has the same -127dBu EIN and 15dB higher gain than the $499 DR-680Mk II, but will cost you $50 less.

The F4 is essentially the same recorder as the F8 with 6 inputs and 8 tracks instead of 8 inputs and 10 tracks.
