Scavenger hunts are too much fun! I should be working! RAWR! Thanks for the fun break =]

1.) Something that is grey. My name is makeup and I am grey! WL

2.) Something reminiscent of rain. This color is called "Naughty Nautical". Nautical = water, water = rain. =D?? WL

3.) Something food related that is unusual. Pretty sure most people don't have teeney shaped veggie cutters. WL

4.) Something on your list that is for someone other than yourself. Tell me who it's for and why. (Yes, pets count!) This is for my two parrots! My quaker especially loves dried papaya. I'm teaching her how to fly right now and have been using food as a reward, but we ran out of papaya a couple of weeks ago, and our local bird store has been out of stock for a long time. Turns out that Whole Foods doesn't carry dried papaya either. Rawr! WL

5.) A book I should read! I am an avid reader, so take your best shot and tell me why I need to read it! The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I had heard about this when the movie came out in English. I liked the movie and then moved on with my life. Come this spring, I found myself facing a LOT LOT LOT of driving by myself, so I started borrowing audiobooks from the library. I borrowed all three of these books and REALLY enjoyed them. It wasn't at all what I expected. They're murder mysteries with a lot of themes about violence against women. When I learned about the author, it became that much more interesting. The author wrote these books with the intention of making 10, but died after the third one. They found them after he died. The themes about sexual violence stem from a gang rape he witnessed as a teenager. He never forgave himself for not being able to help her, so he channeled all those emotions into his writing later in life. Anyway.....interesting stuff. Good books. I recommend them :)

6.) An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related! Pfft.

7.) Something related to cats. I love cats! (keep this SFW, you know who you are...) If I was a cat, this would be my JAM!

8.) Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it. Dresses are admittedly useful for avoiding public indecency charges, but not really useful beyond that. BUT LOOK AT THE RAINBOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WL

9.) A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life. Why? Not on my wishlist (it's on American Netflix though!), but everyone should be aware of the impact of plastic on the environment and our bodies. Education is everything. Plus, there's a newborn baby at the end.

10.) Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. Explain. 1. Stab zombie in the skull. 2. ??? 3. Profit. The reviews rave that it's super sharp and doesn't stick so it probably wouldn't get stuck in their skull like other knives. WL

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals. I don't know if I'd use the word profound, but it would sure help me out. A big passion of mine is learning to ID birds. I'm pretty good at most birds, but finding information on juveniles is VERY difficult sometimes. I've used this book before to help identify birds in hand, but I think the information regarding juvenile plumage would help me identify young birds from afar. It's even part of my job to identify birds! WL

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items. This is an Add-On item, but it's also a hair addon =P Not on my WL, but I'm losing my hair like crazy so I might have to look into these >.>

13.) The most expensive thing on your list. Your dream item. Why? This isn't the most expensive item on my list (that was #8), but it's the one that would help me the most! When I do field work, I tend to have a lot of gear on me at once, and the extra strain of binoculars around my neck tends to give me some really freaking sore muscles. A harness would be MUCH easier on my shoulders/neck/back. I start field work again in October, so I plan on buying it for myself by then anyway =] WL

14.) Something bigger than a bread box. EDIT A bread box is typically similar in size to a microwave. This is larger than the average bread box.

15.) Something smaller than a golf ball. I am smaller than a golf ball! WL

16.) Something that smells wonderful. This smells amazing!!! I'm infatuated with cinnamon, but had to stop using cinnamon Crest YEARS ago because I developed a bad reaction to it. This stuff is expensive, but the company is very environmentally responsible and I feel good giving my business to them. WL

17.) A (SFW) toy. This seems pretty SFW unless you're playing Cards Against Humanity. evil grin WL

18.) Something that would be helpful for going back to school. I used sticky notes all the time in school! WL

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be. I've obsessed with birds since I was 11. I've been obsessed with rainbows forever. I'm currently obsessed with sushi. THIS IS ALL THREE! WL

20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand. Hear me out! This baby can keep ice for DAYS. Sitting out in the sun for hours on end? NO PROBLEM! YOU'LL HAVE ICE AT THE END OF THE DAY!! Seriously, Thermos needs to pay me for how much I rave about their stuff. My water bottle has still had ice in it after three days AND being refilled twice. No joke.

Just recently got this same deal too! I’m turning it into a budget planner for my mom and opted for this snap on pouch (I couldn’t find the link to it on the Michael’s website, but I found it in their store with the other regular priced Happy Planner stuff) It matches the pattern and the size really well and sits really nicely against the back, and felt like a better alternative to the stick-on pen loop I was gonna get for it, since you can use it for multiple, different items. They were having a 40% off sale on all planner stuff when I went last week, so it made the planner feel like even more of a steal.

I also picked up an awesome large list/ sticky note pad from that same section that I think acts as a good place to jot down notes without having to add too much weight and extra paper to the small rings.

& It also never hurts to add a dashboard to pop any cute sticky notes onto! here are some pictures I just took because I was too excited about this not to share! 😂

A fidget toy might be nice! After looking around, I got one of the vortex balls, because it seems like it would be weighty, fun to play with, and less likely to run away from me than one of the slidey/foldy ring toys... though I caved and got one of those too!

If you do decide to go with one of the vortex balls, check whether you're getting aluminum or stainless steel. That's a detail I only noticed as I was fetching the link, and I had a moment of alarm because I was afraid I got the aluminum one. (I want mine to be heavy.)

Assuming the comments are trustworthy, people really seem to like this seller, and they appear to be genuinely hand-made, too, for what it is worth. The vortex ball also comes in all sorts of colors and could be seen as decorative, too!

Also, I like the idea of the Tile -- tech is fun, and that is supremely useful! I might stay away from the planner and instead get a giftcard to someplace. That is speaking as someone with er... attachment issues with office supplies. Your friend might not be as picky as I am though, so it's just a thought.

You might also get them a dot-gridded journal, like this or this (I've also heard great things about Leuchtturm notebooks, but they are more expensive and I don't have experience with them) -- and then put a post-it note on the cover with www.bulletjournal.com written on it. ADHD-ers tend to love that journal system, at least for a good while, and it is extremely flexible, customizable, and not specific to the notebook you use. (Though the dot-grid allows for the best of a clean appearance and straight lines.) So no concern about planner incompatibility -- and no concern about mourning the waste of a dated planner that was never used. (hangs head for a moment of guilty silence)

For post-its, I enjoy the full adhesive ones, since they can be used for labels and all sorts of things, without a flappy nonadhesive edge (when I am really in a mood, I'll snip off the very narrow nonadhesive edge on these -- and they can also be cut into smaller pieces for smaller labels). You might be better looking in a local office supply store, though -- the colors on Amazon are not always the colors you end up with. (sour look)

Anyhow, hope this helps!

Yay! Welcome back! =)

And thank you for holding a contest to celebrate ^ _ ^

If I happen to win, I'd really appreciate these sticky notes! I just realized I have none, and I've found I've needed them as of late. Grad school studies just seem like they'd be a bit easier, hehe. Thanks again!

u/Tetchy · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

You reach your hand out, tentatively grabbing its side. You tug, and it resists. But you insist, and pull your arm up, muscles rippling down your forearm. As if yielding to your strength, it releases itself, and a slight stickiness separates with a satisfying pop. You take your prize, pushing it against the wall. You firmly place your hand on its top and shove it into place. You know you're rushing, so you breath in deeply, calming yourself. There's no need to race. With your other hand, you bring up a long, pointed contraption. A smile gleams from your mouth, knowing the moment has come. You bring it down... You precisely and slowly tickle it with your words, careful not to penetrate it:

'Out of milk!'

You leave the room with your pen, the post-it note stuck to the refrigerator.

Just place yourself in this situation! Look at how helpful it will be! 5 out of 5 stars

My favorite Disney movie is My Neighbor Totoro!

This!

See ya real soon!

This is super cute! XD

I love Disney World, I remember my mum brought me a Micky mouse rice crispy treat for breakfast in our hotel room, it was a really good moment!

u/martysthreegirls · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Pimp my cube is actually a "kit" or as amazon calls it, a book supplement...

No matter what decorations you get for those stylish fabricy walls, you're gonna need this to hang it up with.

These are a handy passive-aggressive way to tell a fellow cube dweller to fuck off... politely that is. Or, take it one step further and get this Fill in the blanks and hang your current hatred on the wall for some sweeeeeeet satisfaction.

This little gem looks like a great addition while still being functional. Holding supplies and toilet humor? Count me in.

A desk calendar made of lego like objects? SWEET.

this should come in hand if you're like most of us and have sticky notes EVERYWHERE. What would be more peaceful than turning them into little cranes?

For the days when you don't have a spoon... these would be a great addition

I recommend this to keep spirits up

u/the_skyis_falling · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

To help keep it on the cheap side I recommend just buying this pink wrapping paper and hello kitty duct tape...use them to wrap all his things ie: computer, chair, desk, any books on his desk etc etc.

To up the girly factor, a cute pink mousepad

Pink, "get your sparkle on" mouse pad

Then you could replace all his notepads/post it's with girly/pink ones. And pens and pencils ALL pink and feathery!

Pink paper legal pad

Pink heart shaped post its, but you could get them anywhere

Super girly/princess pens/pencils, could also be bought anywhere

Happy Pranking and good luck. Pink is the new black

Here's some things I like that I've ordered for myself that would be good in a gift box.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009E6J52U/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_4 The super sticky notes

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00016AU3K/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A017459625RX007BJKRR6 KAva Stres Relief Tea

http://www.amazon.com/International-Arrivals-Neon-Gelly-Sticks/dp/B00FFIIFH2/ref=pd_rhf_sc_p_img_5 Gel Hilighters

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FDR47E/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_6 (I love these gel pens)

And I'd add a bunch of notecards, empty folders, maybe some advil, and a cute badge holder.

u/poussezlevraimentbon · 1 pointr/slp

do you know if she is interested more in working with adults/in medical settings or kids in educational/clinic settings? that may help narrow it down because they're very different fields. If you want to just get her some general interest stuff, a few good novels related to the field are The Diving Bell & the Butterfly, Where is the Mango Princess?, Schuyler's Monster...search this sub for other suggestions of books. There's also a bunch of cute gifty junk on amazon that is SLP related (not sure if you can get it in the UK though) If you find out what setting or population she's into we can probably think of some more useful/specific suggestions.

u/zjs · 18 pointsr/Pathfinder_RPG

Tiny post-it notes work well for this. You can roll a bunch and write one on each note. When you want to "roll", just peel off the top sheet to reveal the new number.

I like this better than a sheet where I can see what number comes next to eliminate the potential to "metagame" myself.

If you grab a multi-color pack, you can have one stack for single rolls and one stack that has a roll for each member of the party. This makes situations where everyone needs to make a check really easy (which was more important before passive perception was a thing).

Edit: Another handy use is to pre-roll initiative for each planned encounter, write the results on a tiny post-it, and stick it to the relevant page of the module/notes. I find this makes it easier to keep things flowing when transitioning from adventure to combat.

u/WhattheNorris · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I keep a planner in me, the kind with a week on each two pages. I have enough space to write what's due for classes on what days, when I need to go grocery shopping, when an item is on sale, etc. :)

Really helps me stay focused on tasks and really helps keep anxiety down. I don't freak out at the end of the week wondering if I've missed an assignment or something.

I have some cute bookmarks and post-it notes on my $5 and under list! These are also great for organizing books or leaving notes on my desk/fridge/planner!

u/terazosin · 5 pointsr/pharmacy

I'm honestly all for the Keurig idea. I think most people would be just fine buying their own coffee for it. Depending on what you are looking to spend, you could also do customized coffee tumblers (or even alone or some cute mugs to go with it.

Fun office things could also include stuff like these Post Its, fresh set of nice colored pens, small bluetooth radio, office desktop/cubicle games, conference call Bingo sheets.

u/dizzyvonblue · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I would love a giftcard, if not this book is adorable.

Happy cakeday :)

I have an alarm app on my phone that is pretty good. I also use the notes on my phone to write things down. I would look into using Google calendar. I know it works really well for some people. You can set up reminder alarms.

I have a calendar behind my desk. Even if I have the date on my digital calendar on my computer and in my phone, it's on my wall. I get an entertaining calendar every year to keep it interesting. It takes time to remember to update the calendar but I set a day each week to update my calendar. I have 3 different colors on my calendar for different things. It helps a lot. I also put my personal appointments on there.

I lose papers constantly. I have one of these behind my desk that all important papers that I shouldn't lose go in. I label the pockets. It's been a lifesaver.

The best reminder? Sticky notes. Hands down. I always have about 5 flagging off my laptop monitor to remind me to do shit. If you have a desktop, I suggest getting one of these to put extra notes on.

I also usually carry a pen or sharpie to write quick reminders on the back of my hand or arm. I don't carry scraps of paper because I lose them. If I lose my hand/arm I have a whole other set of problems that are more important than the note.

u/CommunistElk · 4 pointsr/DMAcademy

My first suggestion that I wish I did - have the Redbrands be thuggish, extorting town guards. Glasstaff was sent to Phandelver to set up a constabulary so this is a great way to introduce the Redbrands.

Think about what campaign you want to start next so you can start planting the seeds and modifying the module to transition nicely.

As others mentioned before, sticky notes as bookmarks! I use these and write on the sticky what it's marking.

Don't worry about maps too much. I used theater of the mind or just tore out a piece of graphing paper for a quick map and scribbled on that. Let my players mark at the start of a fight where they think they would have been based on the marching order they described. I do have a fairly large chessex battlemap that I used for some dungeon crawling. Other times I just put sticky notes on the pages and used the maps out of the module. If players engaged a fight we would tear out some graphing paper.

Takes notes as you go! I should have done this more. It's not only great to remember what has happened so far, but you can also take small decisions they have made and have events come up that call back to those decisions/actions to either bite them in the ass or reward them.

Good luck!

u/Hollyingrd6 · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Sure I'll pull it up for you, I kinda want more as these will be great for weather map and text books here they are super reasonably priced

u/laterdayze · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Thanks so much for the contest! :)

without going over

I have this cute post-it set for less than $2.82 with free shipping!

u/rhaella_xharo · 4 pointsr/college

I found these note tab things are really helpful as well. I separate my notebooks by week but you could also dry it by chapter/topic etc. Not only do the tabs help break it up but I write important points/topics/equations on them so I know where stuff is and don't have to go searching!

I vote for the $25 home theatre speaker system and then some things for the kids. I'd recommend either Frozen on blu-ray so they can have a family movie night - which would come to right around $50 - or the things listed below.

  1. Rory's Story Cubes $6.84
  2. The Day the Crayons Quit $10.75
  3. Blueberry Girl $4.48
  4. These adorable post it notes $2.89

Either the stuff above or Frozen (plus the speakers) would come to $49.96 whichever we picked!
u/shellica · 4 pointsr/productivity

I thought of that as I was typing this comment, worth a shot if you can get enough info on a small post-it to make it work. In my copious experience with post-it notes the full adhesive post-its stand up to being moved and re-stuck much better than the standard variety. :)

3x3 post it notes

I'd like to know how many can fit into the shaded area without overlapping

So I'm a student, and an organization freak. I'm one of those kids that has to have a different binder and notebook for every class, and is meticulous about notes. It's a gift, and a curse. As a result, I use way too many of these, and these, and it's honestly weird how often I've bought these. Any or all of these items help me get my organizational fix in and help me study.

High score save kits are a thing.

Or for the budget-conscious.

whoah, nice link!

I see about 7 colors. To be safe, I'll assume at least 2 pads of sticky notes per color.

This product only has 4 colors, and it's $15.44...so maybe $30.

I like leaving notes everywhere

u/FunkyRutabaga · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I think the listing must have changed, because the only way to buy it now that I'm seeing is in a pack with the other designs as well. You can see them all here! (But I think you'll have to click on the $9.99 option below)

u/m13a8 · 35 pointsr/AdviceAnimals

I looked at these So 10x100 sheet packs = 1000 sticky notes. 29.99/1000 = $0.0299 so I guess they really are. I had to check and I was amazed.

Edit: From that same amazon page, it's actually cheaper per sticky note if you buy one pack of five pads, the price is $0.0126. The lack of a bulk discount disappoints me. I should get back to work.

u/losermedia · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon
