What's your price range? Also are you in the US or another country? I can put together something more detailed if you give me that. Going to assume this is a college dorm if it isn't let me know. Side note: my partner says your room looks just fine for a college room but she thinks I'm a bit too into design stuff anyways.

Won't make your room look nicer but if your college will let you replace the mattress do that first, if not throw a mattress pad on top. Sleep is so undervalued in college, both you and any visitors will appreciate it. Here is a mattress pad for ~70 and here is one for under $20.

Along the same line get some nice pillows. Here is a decent set of 2 for ~$20.

Can't see your sheets but if you only have one set, please please get at least more than one set and wash them weekly! Amazon basics get the job done and are dirt cheap for sheets Here is a twin xl in spa blue for $13.99.

Before you buy anything else, you can also go a long way by just organizing all the stuff on the top of the dresser and the bookshelf. Try to have a home for everything and anything you don't use regularly should be out of sight.

Ok that out of the way, we can now go into fixing some of the design/color issues. The dark blue comforter and the black clash too much with the white walls (black wall hangings rarely work btw). Also, none of the wood finish matches and there is barely any color in the room.

Here's how to fix those in order of importance

Step 1: Ditch the giant yin-yang tapestry, unless it means something to you. Same with the meme poster. Also, you don't need three whiteboards...Replace all that with some wall art. Erstwhile is my personal favorite for wall art, really any of there pieces will do. They are a bit pricey ($200-$400) for a college student though. I'd look through Etsy under wall art to find something you like at a decent price point. Or try society6.com like the other poster said. As a note get framed pieces or something that doesn't need to be framed if you can.

Step 2: Get rid of the Black curtain and replace with a lighter color or even something with a pattern. Match it to whichever wall art you chose above.

Step 3: Get a plant, assuming your college allows it. Arichea Palms, Boston Ferns, and Ficus are all super easy to take care of and don't need a ton of light.

Step 4: Replace your comforter and throw pillows and match to the wall art/curtain.

Step 5: This is a personal pet peeve but match the wood finishes unless you know how to make them play off of each other. I'd watch craigslist and slowly replace the furniture as cool things pop up. The desk would be the first thing I'd try to replace, it is way too small to be a decent workspace. There are tons of sub $100 dollar computer desks on Amazon. Also, check out IKEA if you have one near you.

If you need advice on color matching or anything else please let me know.

I just got a queen Zinus "Green Tea" memory foam bed. Currently $289 shipped on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q7EPSHI/

It is pretty firm. I actually ordered a 3" gel topper because of the firmness (you sleep on top rather than sinking into it), but that proved to be too squishy (the topper leaves an imprint of your body when you roll). I have a 2" topper on another bed & imo that is the right level of squish vs. firmness: (the bed is firm to the point where my side wasn't sinking in & was kind of being compressed instead, like when you lay on thin carpet when watching TV or something)

https://www.amazon.com/Sleep-Master-Memory-Topper-Queen/dp/B00FJNQBJ2/

Also, I picked up their awesome 18" tall frame:

https://www.amazon.com/Zinus-SmartBase-Foundation-Replacement-Noise-Free/dp/B017YETH8K/

TONS of storage space underneath, easy to setup (2 pieces that screw together & fold in half, lightweight & only requires one person to assemble...literally takes more time to unbox it than put it together), no noise in use, plus with the 12" Zinus bed, it's at a good height to walk up to & fall into bed. You will need a grip sheet underneath, otherwise the bed will slide off pretty easily:

https://www.amazon.com/TRU-Lite-Bedding-Slip-Mattress/dp/B01AS3HADS

I also recommend getting a waterproof sheet (goes underneath the regular sheets), as any spills will sink directly into the foam mattress & never, ever come out:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A2G9VFM/

I got these Mellanni sheets - they are thin, but feel nice:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NLNDU00

Slightly better than the Amazon Basics sheets I have on another bed. I have a plastic bin underneath the bed for storing a spare set of sheets & waterproof sheet (both are washer/dryer-safe). Total comes up to under $600 shipped for a 12" memory foam bed, 2" gel topper, 18" metal bed frame, a non-skid pad for the frame, two sets of sheets, and two waterproof mattress sheets. I was going to get a Casper or Leesa, but those were like $800 just for the bed...I got all that for $200 less, still a pretty hefty investment, but a decent deal. Other than that, you just need some pillows & a duvet or blanket on the top.

The mattress comes vacuum-sealed in a box, so you just undo it from the packaging & let it air out for a day or two to fully decompress. The frame comes in a large but thin box (two frames folded in half with some assembly hardware). I didn't have to mooch a truck off a friend or go to a mattress store or anything...ordered it all off Amazon Prime, showed up in a couple days, put it all together by myself in minutes. Easy peasy. Would definitely order another one!

woowoo nuru session is one of my favorite! lol

so so so will break down some basics!

  1. as /u/sunniyellowscarf say gel may eventually get sticky and gross. this because water gel ratio mix off and room too cold. first must use enough hot water mixing with gel for proper ratio. second must start session freshly showered and not dried off (start session wet from shower). lastly turn up heat in room both bodies should be sweating because nori stay activated with humidity (shower steam) and sweat.
  2. use rubber sheet or inflatable mattress just for nuru. personally i love exxxtreme sheet i link.....super easy cleanup and kingsize bed so much more fun romping around lots of space.
  3. cleanup! have half dozen beach towel ready for cleanup. always always always wipe nuru off with large dry towel first. nuru reactivate with any moisture so using wet towel for cleanup just spread mess around. towel yourself off first and towel client off and while client in shower towel sheet off. sheet now completely dry in less than minute and can strip bed put sheet in machine wash. personally i hang dry have never used dryer but my apartment have large balcony can hang sheet over balcony rail for air dry. outcall.....sheet totally dry once towel off so fold into carry bag and wash later.
  4. contact! treat nuru session as happy ending massage not penetrative sex. body slide or body rub obviously make contact with penis but no penetrative sex or "stripper slide" or vaginal contact. during slide will contact penis with breasts and other "crevice" like armpit or between thighs or between calves but always preventing actual vaginal contact.
  5. penetrative sex only done after nuru slide over!
  6. condoms! is safe for penetrative intercourse after nuru as long care taken before pull out condom for sex. wipe hands dry with towel and wipe client penis and crotch dry with towel. never never wash because water just reactive nuru make even more slippery! dry nuru residue okay but must be dry residue. put on condom as normal and dry nuru residue create almost gluelike seal of condom on penis. have never had condom slide off as long as area dry before roll on condom.
  7. penetrative sex okay even with wet nuru on sheet and other part of body just be aware.....continuing nuru slide with condom on may work wet nuru gel under base of condom which may slowly work way up shaft.....which may lubricate condom inside enough slide off. so this why i say.....body slide first then penetrative sex as separate finale of session.
  8. if client cum during nuru slide.....do not take chance with condom for second go until both have had full shower. but even if nuru dry on bed during shower is okay. steam from shower and wet bodies and sweat reactive nuru residue on rubber sheet so will get slippery again as soon as hop back on bed.
  9. my favorite mr. nori's pink nuru and mix with hot water in large bowl (or ice bucket for outcall lol). but yesterday i notice mr. nori's web site and youtube channel disappear. i make post on /r/sextoys asking if anyone know what happen with mr. nori's.
  • /r/SexToys/comments/7fg8hj/what_happen_to_mr_noris_nuru_gel_web_site_and/

so.....uhhhhh.....hope that help! lol any other question just ask!

For a grown-up bed, I find that a more "grown-up" style might be appealing. However, it can still be fun!
First of all [these] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00D6PJ3ZE?qid=1405387428&qid=1405387428&qid=1405387428&sr=8-5&sr=8-5&sr=8-5) are the Best sheets. Jersey knit makes me feel like I'm wrapped up in my comfiest, softest t-shirt.

Next, you mentioned you like yellow. I suggested gray sheets because I think gray and yellow to great together. I personally would also chose a gray bedspread of some sort. I'd finish it of with [this] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007CW0IHO?cache=1d0d5788f6958ef2ec7009cf82b64177&pi=SY200_QL40&qid=1405387882&sr=8-2#ref=mp_s_a_1_2) for accent pillows.

I've always been into different fandoms and whatnot, but at some point I decided to change to a more adult style and put all the memorabilia type stuff in my fun room. My bedding makes my whole room feel a lot more clean and welcoming. I don't mean that in a bad way, I just grew to love a more muted, adult style than I thought I would, and you might too!

If you want some more whimsical bedding though I found a marauders map throw earlier that is in my wishlist! You'd probably like it as well! :)

OK, I got the Amazon sheets, washed them according to the instructions, and put them on. Here's an album : http://imgur.com/a/yIVo6

I got these sheets : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NY4RUW

They are definitely not as soft as the Wamsutta Dream Zone but they feel sturdier. The Dream Zone makes the top sheet of this set feel like a burlap sack. The Pinzon fitted sheet is much softer than the Pinzon top sheet, but still nowhere near the softness of the WDZ sheets. In fairness to Amazon, the WDZ sheets were washed a lot over the last couple years, so the Pinzon sheets may catch up in softness after a while, but the difference right now is noticeable. They feel like they will last more than two years, though ($200 for two years, thanks a lot, BB&B!)

The fitted sheet has elastic all the way around the sheet instead of just at the corners and it has deep corner pockets. It fits over my mattress and topper, about 18" worth of bedding. If you have a king, make sure you get the right version (king vs. CA king) because the CA king are definitely made to spec and wouldn't fit a regular king.

One of the other posters mentioned Target. My gf bought sheets for her old bed, now our guest bed, at Target. She got some of the 500-or-so-thread-count sateen sheets. They're very soft. My experience with the BB&B WDZ sheets makes me think that soft, sateen sheet sets don't last, but if the Target sheets, which were $50, last 10 years as the other poster said, I would definitely buy those over either the BB&B (crappy quality) or the Amazon (not as soft) sheet sets.

edit : didn't get it in the picture, but the Amazon sheets are made in China.

u/creamersrealm · 1 pointr/financialindependence

Thread count is how soft the sheet is but it can lie. I have 3 sets if sheets, one is a Columbia Cool set and they have super deep pockets with an elastic band. Which is amazing for me during the summer and I have a mattress topper and a deep pocket mattress already. My second pair of sheets is a nice very soft Amazon choice set. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00NLLUP4G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Kc4SCb94ZMEDA

My third set is garbage and I hate them with a passion.

Also on a side note where my bed is super deep I bought a pair of bed sheet suspenders and they have saved my life.

u/saluja04 · 42 pointsr/BuyItForLife

I'm not sure about "shabby chic" but 100% linen sheets are the best in my opinion. They are more expensive up front, but with care, will last generations. At least among bed sheets, 100% linen sheets are the most buy-it-for-life.

I have sets from Linoto (sold on Amazon) and Restoration Hardware. RH sells both cotton-linen blends and 100% linen sheets; be sure to get the right ones. They also have pretty reasonable sales from time to time. I've had great experiences with both!

Edit: West Elm has a sale right now on Belgian Flax linen sheets. Not sure if the quality is up to snuff (others may be able to shed light), but the price isn't terrible for linen.

u/public_soliloquy · 3 pointsr/HSVpositive

I got my first apartment a couple weeks ago but my roommate went out of town shortly after and it took him a while to move in, but now he is and we have furniture! We have a complete cooking set and living room, now all we need are plates and silverware. I'm super excited. I also ordered my first bed. I've never owned my own bed before. I'm psyched!

Edit: Here's the mattress: [Zinus Memory Foam 6 Inch Green Tea Mattress, Full] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MT85NGJ/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_F3kmzbQTPCW0R)

And here's my beautiful bed

I'm going to buy light pink sheets and I have a cream colored comforter which I've had since college. I'm also going to have a bench at the foot of my bed.

It's so nice to finally be feminine after so many years ❤❤

Okay, understood.

If you want soft foam, something like Casper but softer, then there are basically two ways to go. Either memory foam, or latex. If you want a soft memory foam mattress, you could try the "soft" option from novosbed.com , but I would not recommend that as your best option for two reasons: (1) the soft novosbed uses 3.7-pcf density memory-foam which is below the 4-pcf density minimum for decent quality memory foam and (2) with soft memory foam you tend to sink in more than with other foams, which could result in sleeping hot.

So, I suggest that latex may be your best option. But you would need a soft latex layer, preferably Talalay because it breathes better, and a thin, stretch cover over the latex, otherwise it would not feel as soft as with latex below a thicker quilted cover. With that in mind, I recommend you try sedonasleep.com , where you can buy a two-piece mattress: a polyfoam base with a Talalay latex topper. The topper has four firmness options, and I assume you would prefer the softest ("#19 Soft").

I also suggest cotton jersey knit sheets, and (after the trial period is over so you are not forfeiting your ability to return) no mattress protector or mattress pad. You can double up the fitted sheet if you want to add a little more cotton above the latex. It is difficult to find good cotton jersey knit sheets. Here are the best I have seen:

My wife and I had a similar experience when we first started dating. After a while, the mattress began to stain and eventually began to smell musty (this was after about 2 years). After spending some time in a sex shop, I came across a rubber fitted bedsheet. It was a special order item, but it was damn well worth the price. Its 100% waterproof. Granted you'll still have to lay down a couple of disposable pads or towels, or your squirt will end up pooling and dripping to the floor, but this was the best investment I made, and it doesnt smell despite consistent use. It even prevents the absorption of lube. There was a point where we didnt wash the sheet for about 3 months and there was 0 musty smell. I highly reccomend you look into this as it saved our new mattress and hours of headache and cleaning. Dont ever make yourself feel like you have to hold back on your pleasure because of a minor inconvenience. Happy squirting!

Not a whole lot of BIFL things that you can buy for $60, though I'm in full on shopping mode from putting together my wedding registry together so I have some ideas:

  1. Set of nice percale pillowcases, or cheaper percale sheets. We have these for our guest beds, and they're a little rougher than high quality sheets, but pretty thick and durable.

  2. Yeti tumblers are pretty nice, hold temp well, and are generic.

  3. Anything from Anker. They make great phone/USB chargers. We have 2 of these, and are looking at another portable charger for trips.

  4. If you cook/bake, these are some quality mixing bowls for around $60

  5. Maybe a shredded memory foam pillow?
u/Carlyweena · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Happy cake day sweetie!!!

I heard that these sheets are really nice. If they don't work, my favorite is Jersey Knit sheets. Can't go wrong! :)

I could really use this towel it would actually wrap all the way around me and that would be stellar. If you wanna do something else, feel free to surprise me I win!

From Target: Simply Shabby Chic microplush blanket...mmmm... Seems like they only have lavender left, which wouldn't be my choice:
http://www.target.com/p/simply-shabby-chic-blanket/-/A-13906662

From Amazon: The BEST flannel sheets in the world. Seriously - read those reviews! Right out of the wash the first time, they were the most comfortable sheets I'd ever slept on. We bought them almost three years ago, they live on the bed all winter, held up great, and have just gotten softer:

I actually love the Amazon brand! (Go figure.) They're the Pinzon ones. I have had three sets in the past two years and I've loved all of them. They haven't worn out, just wanted different colors :) They're sturdy, silky, and quite pretty.

In my opinion, what is worse than just cost reduction from operation scale in regards to small businesses is the memberships and credit cards that try to get the customers to commit to the seller. You'll simply never be able to achieve that as a small business, nor should you.

I imagine what they mean by 'secret selling and marketing data' is all the data they collect from the site. Beyond the significance of the raw data (seeing the keywords customers search from google, which items/colors sell the best) you can even control and suggest your products against the competition. Like these bedsheets, it will try to show you the amazon alternative in 3 areas on the page. The first "Similar item to consider" will only show if amazon has an alternative for that product and won't show if you're looking at an amazon item. The bar at the bottom of the page will only show amazon or amazon exclusive items if viewing an amazon page, otherwise, it may only include one or two.

You'd even have to consider that amazon won't be paying the expensive "fulfilled by amazon" warehouse costs or the sell cut that sellers must pay. Imagine a mall that on top of the monthly rent, force you to set up displays for their products right at your checkout line that always undercut your products.

u/Krysanth · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Satim sheets for the bedroom. This is really good for our hair, and it's heavenly to sleep in. Use the extra money to and buy a box of chocolates to set on the pillows.

Make the bed for her with her new sheets, light a candle, have the chocolates waiting for her. I'd suggest buying the chocolates in a store as Amazon is rather pricey on chocolate.

Here is a kindle book I like.

Thanks for the contest!

That is an amazing looking bed, btw. :D

I bought a yard of linen fabric intending to hem the edge, producing my own Iinen bath towel for about $8.00. Great plan, except I can’t find it, and might have tossed it in the goodwill bag for some insanely stupid reason.

Just received this one https://www.amazon.com/Green-Foster-Product-Natural-Indigo/dp/B01NB9IQLG which looks decent out of the package. Currently its in the dryer. I’ve run it through the laundry once to get any shrinkage out of the way. We’ll see what happens. Initial impressions are that a full-size bath towel that doesn’t take any more room in a bag, or weigh more, than a shirt is a good thing. I’ll probably get a hand-towel or washcloth sized one for the times when I really want to travel light, but the bath towel sized one might be a good one for even ultralight packing, just because it doubles as a tablecloth or beach/picnic towel .

Edit:

Size: 27” x 57” (ca. 68cm x 144cm), 180g
For comparison, a cotton terry towel from the shelf at home: 27” x 48”, 485g.

Tested it out this morning. Different feel, as it doesn’t have the terry-looped texture of a traditional bath towel. Drying off with this towel requires more of a squeegee action than a rub-and-let-it-absorb. That said, it did its job.

I left it draped over the back of a wooden chair to dry. I came home four hours later to find a completely dry towel.
I rolled it up - it takes about as much space as one of my t-shirts (usually XL). I can even fold it and stow it in my toiletries cube.

Between the quick drying time and packability, I give it a two-thumbs-up. If it were about a foot longer, and I had a third hand, it’d double as a scarf and I’d give it three thumbs up.

Percale is the best for hot sleepers. We went on this odyssey a few years ago and had a lot of aggravation but found a few good options. They feel a little scratchy for the first few washes but soften up a little pretty quickly. The only thing that may be annoying to some is that they wrinkle if you leave them in the dryer for too long, but... eh. Do NOT get sateen sheets. They are slick and gross.

Target has some Threshold ones that are great. I think we bought some of these awhile back but I'm not 100% sure that these are the same ones (labeling is a little different). The ones we have are made in India.
https://www.target.com/p/organic-cotton-solid-sheet-set-300-thread-count-threshold-153/-/A-51818784

I bought a set of these awhile back and they are thicker than the Target ones but the detailing isn't quite as good. They are cool and sleep well, though. (Made in China)

My girlfriend has these and they seem pretty good, especially for the price. They are microfiber which some don't seem to like, but much better than Target sheets (which I have used in the past and do like for the price.

For any guy who's trying to get a clean, masculine looking bed on a tight budget. You can get a set of dark gray mellani sheets on Amazon for $25. They're likely the most comfortable sheets you can get at that price, and they're breatheable enough that you won't run hot. Keep those sheets clean and folded in your closet and throw them on when you're expecting company. Also, start the bedding with the side towards the wall so you can flatten it out as you move to the outside, you won't have big imprints in your bedding.

Found em! These are the ones we have, though I'm sure any flannel sheets would be nice and cozy :)

What /u/lakashhar said. Exxxtreme Sheets from Amazon. <3

Edit - Actually, the ones I got from Amazon look different than the ones /u/lakashhar linked to. The ones I bought are more expensive, but they're super thick and soft. They don't feel like rubber at all and are two-layer.

So here's what I've gotten so far:

  • Pillowcases
  • Sheets
  • Rug
  • Throw pillows
I'm looking for a teal (or something) duvet cover to tie it all together but having immense amounts of trouble. I'm looking at these and these but not sure.
Right now everything is pretty much grey and white, I'm going to make the duvet cover be the colourful part.
And now I'm also wondering if I should get more colourful throw pillows. I wanted the grey ones I linked anyway, they'll go on the couch if I get different ones.
And I'm also thinking of a knitted white rug, something like this, for the foot of the bed maybe.

Ah I relate to this so much as I am Vietnamese, and in Vietnamese culture you sleep with 1 blanket on a bamboo mat. In American culture you have this fitted sheet thing that goes on the mattress, a flat sheet that goes between you and the top layers, a thin blanket, then a puffy layer that can be a duvet or comforter. There's an optional decorative blanket/quilt thing if you want to get real fancy. If you get real cold, you can stack on more blankets! Do you live in the US? If so, I would recommend Marshalls or TJ Maxx for affordable comforter sets and blanket (I currently use microfiber blankets). For bedsheets, I've bought from Target, Costco, and Marshalls, they all suck compared to this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IHPX9JY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

Flannel sheets.

You spend a quarter to a third of your life with sheets, you might as well enjoy them.

I need new bed sheets. The two sets I own have been destroyed! I tend to use things till I can't anymore and the one set has a huge rip down the middle so it got trashed and the second has little holes all over it from, I can only assume, cat claws. So its on its way out. Thank you for the contest!

velvet flannel(winter normally, since keeps warm slightly better), Egyptian cotton 400 thread count other times.

I got this one off amazon. Not as pricey as Outliers.

u/water_mizu · 2 pointsr/BuyItForLife

Saw the bamboo on Bamboo and linen I'm swaying towards the bamboo cause its a quite a bit cheaper. What do guys think in comparison? I've never had any experience with any of these before.

u/Squirmingbaby · 6 pointsr/news

Doesn't always work. I think that sellers will flood amazon with fake or bought for reviews to get good ratings.

Try searching for cotton sheets and you get stuff like this:

https://www.amazon.com/1500-Supreme-Collection-Extra-Sheets/dp/B00AMNAGV8/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?keywords=cotton+sheets+king&qid=1562192875

First of all, it's not cotton and second, the top review says that the product is bad. No personal experience with it, but it sure looks suspicious to me.

u/keriberry_420 · 3 pointsr/keriberry_420

Deal. I have the idea to use this tiny cheap white crop top, white cotton thong, lots of oil, whipped cream, fake cum... maybe champagne? White t-shirt theme w high contrast and lots of mess, squirting and a creampie.
They're not cheap babe- you would be granted access to the paid clip if you buy them for me
