(Part 2) Reddit mentions: The best shirts for men

Shirt stays, shirt stays and shirt stays again! They changed my life.

I like to wear Express slim or fitted shirts, I usually buy Small Tall size for Fitted and Medium for Slim. They're the cheapest shirts that fit me without tailoring. Fabric quality is meh -- better than H&M and than some stuff at Uniqlo, but not really good. Massive color and pattern selection. Price when purchased either 50% off with coupons or on Clearance is $20-29.

Shirt stays are amazing though, they've made all my other slim shirts fit me extremely well whereas before they did not. American Apparel Slim Oxfords used to constantly slip out from under my belt due to not being intended to be worn that way, but now they don't and what's more is that they look like my body was chiseled out of flat granite. The stays tighten your shirt until it's flat, it's a look that can only normally be achieved by pinning.

These are the best ones, be sure to get the metal clip ones for durability. You can get them on eBay or from other places on Amazon, but I gotta say, in fifteen years that I have worn dress shirts, this is the biggest and greatest thing that has happened to me. The image you project is fantastic, your shirt sits perfectly straight and unruffled, completely and perfectly tucked in with no creasing. It's like a dream, or like the models you see photos of online.

Beware though, if your belly area isn't flat, it will show! I am tall and skinny (6"2' 165-175lb) with a flat belly, but if I overeat with lots of liquids can literally see a small bulge forming due to the fact the shirt starts keep it so tight. It's not really noticeable unless you look from the side, but it's there. So you do kinda have to be fit or have a large chest that causes the fabric to contour the chest and skip the belly.

Personally I need my shirts to fit snug on the waist.

In Navy & Grey, both medium. I outgrew it a little thanks to my lanky arms growing even more, but the midsection is perfect and the quality is surprisingly very very solid - still going strong. I am not a fan of the stripes though... always reminded me of toothpaste... so this year I didn't re-up on this particular style.

Funny, because I was just looking for cheap, white t-shirts before I saw this thread. Didn't find much I didn't already know, but I still have a few ideas for you. My problem is that the sleeves are usually too big for my scrawny arms, for reference.

Hanes makes some basic, slim tees that can be found on Amazon and their online store, but they're a little too slim for me. Also, the ones I bought use a blended material that's really thin, but I believe they have some that are 100% cotton today.

I much prefer the Hanes Nano tee, though. It's a little slimmer then I'd like, but the sleeves are perfect and most colors are 100% cotton, I believe. They're nice enough to wear alone, but still thin enough to wear as an undershirt. These are probably my favorite, but I like the one below a lot, also.

Next Level makes one that's very similar to the Nano and it's pretty popular around here. Both the Hanes and the Next Level Tees can be had for around $5-6 a piece, which isn't as cheap as Walmart, but still not bad.

Those are the best I have, but I'd love to hear about more brands, as well.

1. My favorite card is the card that I played in the most decks in Magic Duels back when it was still current and never stopped loving; [[Nissa, Vastwood Seer]]. She helms my one and only commander deck (which needs updating), and I'm trying to make her work in Pioneer, where she's just barely above the bar. I also have a shirt with her image.
   
   
2. My second favorite card - that I'm sad is not good enough for Modern and will never be in Pioneer - is [[Abyssal Persecutor]]. It's such a glorious Timmy/Johnny/Spike mix-up; I love every part of it. I've used the art as my desktop background multiple times. It is a masterful example of extremely complex game-play from (relatively) simple design.
   
   
3. My third favorite card is harder, since it's a long drop past the first two. I think I have to go with [[Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger]]. I loved the Eldrazi ever since I first saw Legacy Twelve-Post decks trying to cast them off Candelabra of Tawnos back in 2012-2014. I'm a fan of Eldritch Horror, and I like being able to go absurdly over the top of people; the idea of hard casting Emrakul seemed delightful. Unfortunately, I'm also a Spike, and that's not really a viable thing in most formats.
   Cheating it into play just doesn't feel the same. But Ulamog was an Eldrazi that you could reasonably hardcast, still felt absurdly huge, and came around in a set while I was playing in paper. In fact, in my very first pre-release (after having played online for a few years) I went 3-1 with BW Fliers (on the back of a Drana, Liberator of Malakir who easily won every game I cast her in). Rather than draft with my three reward packs, I decided to open them, because they felt special to me. One of them had an Ulamog, and I'm pretty sure it's still the most valuable card in my (tiny) paper collection.

Ok. Look,’the reason these things look well together is simply because they are visually pleasing. There is nothing more or less to it. Stop searching for the why. There is no reason to the why. It just is!

The guides that people provided regarding fabrics working together is correct and a perfect guide to help keep you looking presentable at work. Patterns and cuts will change, new fabrics may be invented, but there are things that are “classic” looks especially for men that haven’t really changed much.

Button up you can pair with slacks of any color and jeans and look polished. You’d want, white, brown, black, blue.

Khaki pants look good with all the colors I mentioned above.

polos are also another option to shirts especially in warmer weather. These will also look acceptable with khakis.

As for belts and shoes, you’d want your shoes to match your belt. If you’re wearing a black belt, wear black shoes. Wear a brown belt, wear brown shoes.

The The color wheel can give you a visual ideal of what will look good together. Here is some overview of color theory to help you understand where the idea some colors look good together.

Your employee handbook is also going to outline for you what is acceptable to wear and what is not acceptable. Stay within those guidelines and find colors you like and look visually appealing to you. You’ll be fine.

I've had a lot of success with Amazon's Goodthreads line for pants! They carry a really wide range of sizes that typically aren't available in stores, down to a 28x28, and have a bunch of different cuts & colors. Plus you can do Amazon Wardrobe if you have a prime account, which is a lifesaver if you feel awkward shopping in the mens or boys section in stores. I own like five pairs of their skinny fit chinos for work. (For reference, I'm 5'6" & weigh ~135, and I wear a 29x32 but tbh I probably wear my pants too tight hahaha. Also I've found that the chinos tend to shrink a bit in length with washing & drying, so it's better to go a bit long.) I also just figured out that some of their printed dress shirts seem to be purposefully designed to pair well with the chinos--I bought this cactus print shirt & realized that the green cacti perfectly match the olive chinos, which made me feel super put together when I noticed at work! Obviously not exactly formal wear, but if you need anything in the business casual realm, highly recommend.

I bought them from costco, but these are pretty nice. They're kind of thick so IDK if you'd want them for the spring though. They are a regular fit, so if you are slim or looking for a slimmer fit I'd size down or look elsewhere. They're great for layering though, or if you're like me and don't mind a loose fitting flannel with a tee, they work nice as well.

1 Okay, I love this, but I think you should wear a men's button downwith a tie and glasses and knee highs over it. So , like come out in the button down and knee highs and tights and then unbutton it, because that's really sexy!

Professional seamstress /tailor/costumer here. You can get the shirts tailored pretty easily. Price depends on where you go. I'd say $35 and up to take a shirt in. Another option is to get a size smaller with a neck extension.

Amazon Next level basic tee's.. Very form fitting though a little tight on the arms (lifter bro). I find them to be great quality for a low price point
