I love the suggestions for a shower stool. I didn't know those existed, either, and with a small space, they look like a total game changer!
Here are some everyday bath items that, in addition to the stool, can help you conserve energy and stay safe throughout your shower routine. You probably have most or all of these items, but I figured I'd list them just in case. (Links go to whatever turned up on Amazon and looked reasonable; I haven't tried them out myself or researched them.)
Handheld showerhead: It helps a ton with minimizing movement (and also not getting the dreaded blast of cold water when you switch from the tap to the shower which is no small potatoes).
Back scrubber: Wet it down, rub a little soap on it, and bam! You have an energy-conserving way to scrub hard-to-reach places and a back scratcher! (Also available with those mesh-puff things instead of a brush if you want to be gentler on your skin.)
Suction cup hooks: Hang your long-handled scrubber, your washcloths, whatever you want.
Washcloths with loops: Keep them at arm-level on your suction cup hooks and you're ready to go. If you don't want to buy new washcloths, you could buy some fabric remnants or foldover elastic for cheap at a big-box craft store and make loops for your existing washcloths instead.
Shower basket with suction cups: I like these better than those shower caddies you hang over the shower head because you don't get pelted in the face with water when you're reaching for things and you can place these within easy reach.
Suction cup soap dish: Again, you can put this at whatever height you want and never have to worry about having to lean over to reach for soap again.
Wall-mounted dispenser: If you're not into bar soap or bottles, you can use this guy to hold body wash, shampoo, and conditioner instead. (I don't know how much of a hassle they are to refill, though.)
Reacher: The classic! If you've dropped your washcloth, you don't have to stress your body by bending to pick it up. Just make sure you get a length that'll work for you in your shower or that thing'll turn into more hazard than help.
Lastly, I gotta ask if you'd consider having grab bars installed for safety. If you have difficulty going from sitting to standing, it sounds like using a shower stool would be helpful, but might come with its own issues, and I want you to be safe. There are some suction cup grab bars out there, but man, I don't trust those things. A little bit of soap scum or something builds up near one of the suction cups and it's Bad News Bears.
If you have an occupational therapist, this would be a perfect thing to discuss with them! Seriously, they live for that kind of thing. :)
I was looking for something similar for a while. I ended up getting 3M command strips, and using those to attach to a cut piece of over-door hook that worked surprisingly well. Clear too so not really noticeable and mountable just about anywhere. If you needed a pic I could get one for you. Also 3M has a spice tray that works pretty well for a standard controller but not so much on an elite. If you shop around they should have something that would accommodate an Xbox one controller nicely by now..
Edit: I know from experience that these work pretty well. The medium size holds a ps4 controller nicely, as it's a bit more slim-lined. I would think the large would be close to perfect for an X1 controller. I can also provide a pic of the medium size of you need it.
Something like this or this could work. The reason I went this route is so I wouldn't have to drill into the walls, and easily moveable as I move my room around often. Good luck
You should get this because if you're living with other guys it will be a huge help to keep your bathroom stuffs separate (though you may still have something like this at the Dorm). Trust me with any roomies it's just easier to keep the bathroom crap separate or people get cranky... Also if I win I would like a GC to help me save toward my IPOD touch :)
You're such a pretty pretty pretty pretty person ;)
Just to add to warwatch who had most of what was on my list:
Some of this depends on how much cooking you are planning to do, but it's all pretty essential in my experience.
When I got my own place I was surprised how important this one pan was!
Can opener
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Cutting boards The flexible ones are the best!
I've seen others have already said the obvious plates, bowls, pans, silverware. I'm trying to think of other usual stuff that after living in my own place for 6 years that I could simply not do without!
Bottle and wine opener
Nigh light To help make late night trips to the kitchen or bathroom less scary and dangerous for toes.
Shower caddy another style of caddy
Shoe rack another style of hanging shoe rack
Wall clock that doubles as a secret hide away!
I could go on and on but I know the great people of this sub will be recommending everything under the sun. Congrats on the new place. Good luck. Thanks for the contest.
In my studio I got lucky with storage but I know that I would get this bag holder as well as collapsible kitchen essentials. A slim trash can helps. If your bathroom has no storage, something like this can help. Hang your spices on the cabinet. Use this in the shower if you need more space. XD I use command hooks near my front door to hold my keys and daily jacket. :)
That's what I can think of now. You can get a LOT of this stuff on craigslist for low cost.
I forgot to consider you might be out of the U.S, but my tips should still apply.
This might sound obvious but don't overpack clothes. Some of my roommates and myself included brought so many clothes that we don't use and it's just taking up space.
For kitchen use, take your own utensils but just one of each you're not going to need more than that trust me. For kitchen equipment like pans and pots, if your buddys do get in coordinate who takes what so you don't have multiples.
In the beginning it's all about taking what's absolutely essential, if you're able to go home during breaks that's when you bring some more stuff if you have the space.
I'm gonna link some stuff in a moment that you should absolutely consider buying. They're going to be amazon links but big chain stores in your area should carry similar products.
These three products fold so they're easy to pack in any suitcase.

A little bigger so you'd have to buy these once you've settled in but they help if you're low on space.

Plastic is your best friend if you're low on funds and can't buy dressers. I have one in my closet for T-Shirts/socks/boxers and one under my T.V desk for electronics/school stuff

I ship to Mexico sometimes so maybe you can ship to Chile as well.
How about something like this, a really nice robe & slippers, jets, or one of these to make the bath deeper.
I know some elderly people who use those suction bars instead of having grab bars installed and they seem to work pretty well, but I would recommend checking the weight restrictions (I mostly know little old ladies who use them) and ensure that you have a good seal on a smooth solid surface before using.
From my girlfriend not me lol
"The corner shelf was originally a steel/aluminum bathroom shelf that I painted white. I actually prefer it because it doesn’t soak up any lingering water or cause mold. I can’t find the exact one I have, but here are amazon links to similar ones.

As for the peperomia hope, I’m not 100% sure if this will help with the curling, but I make sure to give mine a thorough watering when the older leaves closest to the roots are soft and the soil is completely dry. Mine is quite small, it’s in a 3” terra-cotta with really airy soil and gets bright light (currently from a grow light) so I do tend to water more frequently.
I hope this helps!!"
Its surprising some of the things you find out that you need after you move in.
AND A FISHY TO BE YOUR FRIEND!
These are just a few things. I just graduated college and I will never again underestimate the necessity of duct tape and a plunger :P
EDIT: Would you like a falafel with that?
Awww♡♡♡ you know what the best thing to get her. Is
this https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B008DBQMF0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Hub3Db6KJ00T5 and fill it with her favorite care products, a topped up meal card and depending where you live a space heater or mini air purification machine. Dorm rooms are either super cold or stuffy!
I just graduated from college!
And let me tell you... the following items served me incredibly well!
Would you like a falafel with that?
Couple of recommendations based on this comment:
A good laundry basket is essential. I love using a utility tote because it's easier to lug around. They're also completely collapsable.
Rocketbooks combine hand writing notes with digital storage in the cloud. I'm a teacher, and I love mine. I plan to pilot a program using them with students next year.
I'm a big fan of my shower caddy. It dries quickly and holds lots. She'll need shower shoes.
When I went to college, we weren't allowed to have cars on campus. I thought I was all set, but realized about a day after I'd been dropped off that I had no laundry detergent. I'd recommend the pods because she can throw a few in a tupperware and not get her detergent stolen or have to lug around so much. I'd recommend a broom and dust pan, clorox wipes, and other cleaning essentials. In addition to a sheet set, I'd recommend three towels and eight wash cloths depending on her habbits.
fun fact: putting tea in a bath can be surprisingly amazing. i used raspberry tea and had a cup of the same tea cold. it was sooooooo good.
i also suggest purchasing a bath caddy if you have the funds for it.
Such a cute idea! I think my son would love this little setup.
For square aquariums, this suction-cup corner shelf would be the perfect land platform. Might need to glue a piece of screen to the bottom to keep the sand in, though.
I love my Nspire but nobody is going to show you how to use it, you have to be proactive. I got mine the summer before and watched Youtube tutorials.
For the room here are a couple recommendations:
https://www.amazon.com/Hanging-Toiletry-Organizer-Storage-Compartments/dp/B00VAP3WQS
https://www.amazon.com/Whitmor-Wire-Storage-Cubes-Black/dp/B007ELALZC
https://www.amazon.com/IRIS-Portable-Letter-Organizer-Black/dp/B00DWFR0B2
Sounds similar to what I had then, hand glitches when turning in the space. I found it annoying so gave up. My setup was the same.
From what everyone is saying then, this is just how it is with 2 sensors? Maybe they will fix it in software? or 2 sensors just won't work without glitches?
Rods / clamps look like a great idea! I was thinking of using some of these SnapUP Shelf things and sitting the sensors on them: https://www.amazon.com/Hampton-Direct-40579-SnapUp-Shelf/dp/B0184K05DE
Will look at the desk scene too thanks.
http://www.amazon.com/Zenith-Products-Caddy-Nickel-4-Basket/dp/B004EPXKKE/ref=br_lf_m_1001946371_1_1_ttl?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&pf_rd_p=1767042802&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1001946371&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1RR3QXN4MJ570P6XY1X6
We have this caddy (or one like it) in our shower which had no storage. It has been great, lasted 2 years so far and looks pretty sharp.

How about something like this for TP?
Get something like this or the many varieties of corner tension shelves. They will give you tons of storage and hanging spots and might leave a mark on the ceiling, but super easy to fix.
I use these
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJ5XH4O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Mounted on these without the trays installed
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014X7ARI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just set them up in each corner of my play area easy to take down if needed.

Index kit also comes with wall mount brackets if you are looking for a permanent solution and are not scared of drilling holes in the wall.
I don't have a ton of horizontal flat space for makeup. So to allow for more space and storage these Command Hook Caddies are phenomenal! They hold up super well too so far.
I also have implemented stackable, foldable kitchen shelves that are hard plastic. This gives another level to set organizers on (mine are all kinda mismatched right now).
It doesn’t show in the pic but the shower caddy has rubber around the hanger at the top. It’s very secure and doesn’t really move around at all. Here’s the link to the shower caddy:
https://www.amazon.com/mDesign-Bathroom-Hanging-Storage-Organizer/dp/B0731NV98B
As for the guitars, maybe look into getting some guitar wall hangers so that you get those off the floor? Plus it would look cool and fill up some wall space if your room is sparsely decorated.
Shower caddies help with organizing the personal hygiene stuff.
Meow
So i can shower without knocking 20 things down D:
Happy friday!
Not OP but it sure looks close to this! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EPXKKE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Aww, that's not too bad! :) Is your shower caddy from a dollar store? It looks just like mine. Paid $1 three years ago and it's still (mostly) holding up. You should get yourself one of these guys to get back a little floor space.
I got one similar to this. I really like the smaller baskets because it’s easy to group things by person in our house, and they don’t fall over as much.

one regular thing of shampoo/conditioner and a bottle of body wash should last you two semesters if you don't waste globs of it at a time.
I got these off Amazon, and they work pretty well. I just didn't put the trays on them.
$17 bucks on amazon.

You'd need one of those shower head caddies, along with a couple corner shelves for all this shit.
Oh just realized you may have been asking about the shower caddy rods. You have to get these mounts for the shower rods. (these are the rods I got)
There is a cage thing you can have over your bath tub that you can put books or phones to keep them out of the water. See

They also have (clear) caddies and these smaller ledges.
I have read of others using shower tension bars similar to this

Do you mean something like this? Or am I way the fuck off?
Do you have room on the back of the door to hang something like this?

It doesnt give you more counter space but at least it provides storage.
Another potential option would be really tall shower tension caddy that you can place in the corner:
