Daily Go-To: Black ballet flats. I'm kind of tall (5'8") so I'm rarely looking to add height. I wear ballet flats almost every day; if not to work, then on errands or going out. I like that they're dainty-looking and chic, don't call attention to my feet, and are comfortable and relatively practical. They've been my signature item for more than ten years. After wearing holes to the ground in countless cheap Target flats, my current favorite are the Sam Edelman Charlotte. Comfortable, durable, leather outer and soft fabric inner. Amazing. I wear them with Washable Insoles so they don't get so gross. I've been trying to find a brown pair I like as well with no luck currently.

Boots: I own two pairs of boots: cheap black ankle boots with a 2" block heel, and the Frye Courtney in Cognac. The cheap ones are nice because they still look okay, are relatively water resistant, and were so cheap (I think I got them at KMART?) I don't care about wearing them through mud, slush, etc. The Fryes are, naturally, amazing. Soft leather, sturdy sole, great ankle support, no break-in period. I baby them a little but I LOVE them.

Heels: I wear heels to work 2-4 days a week. I usually wear knee-length skirts and dresses so I find heels to be the most flattering. My favorites are a black Naturalizer t-strap I thrifted that look like character shoes, and Seychelles vintage-look heels. I have the Dolly in brown and black. I also have dark brown wedge sandals and plain black court pumps that get regular rotation. I find the Seychelles sooo comfortable: secure straps, sturdy heels, dainty cut, and soft leather that conforms to my foot instead of pinches.

Sandals: I really just hardly ever wear sandals since I'd rather wear flats. I have dressier wedge sandals I wear to work and one pair of strappy AE "leather" flat sandals. I would actually really like to find a pair of flat sandals I love, but have had no luck finding ones that meet my wishlist. One day.

I must have these elephant slippers! I am a huge fan of elephants and I think they would look awesome on my lovely manly feet :P

As for my username I am a huge Kingdom Hearts fan! I love the weapon in the game (which is called a keyblade). There is this group in the 2nd Kingdom Hearts game called Organization XIII. There are thirteen members (shocking, I know) and my favorite is the 8th one! Which is where the VIII comes from.

Every year, I come home and dress up for the little kids and hand out candy all night. I don't have any costumes- I usually just improvise with colorful shirts and a crown. My favorite though was last year some little girl smiled shyly at me and I heard her say to her mom as they were leaving, "Mommy! There's a pretty angel at that house!" <3

Anywho, this year I wanted to do something a little different. I have lost almost 40 pounds since June and I wanted to show off a little and go out and feel good about myself. So, I found the perfect costume- something that combined my fondness for classic movies and a little bit of sexiness as well- A Dorothy Wizard of Oz costume with just the right style to show off my curves without looking too slutty.

Yay! I always look forward to this thread. Here are some of my go to gifts:

• S'well water bottles or tumblers. I know they're overpriced BUT they do keep my water ice cold all day and I think the new tumblers and travellers are really cute.
  
• Zippo hand warmers. I live in Ottawa so these really help for when I'm at the dog park or whatever, I have two that I keep in my coat pockets to keep my hands warm.
  
• Baggu shopping bags. I have like 6 of these and always get complimented on the cute patterns. They make grocery shopping a bit more fun.
  
• Fun socks. I can't be the only person who loves goofy socks right?
  
• Ugg Slippers. So comfortable and have lasted me years.
  
• Fossil Hybrid Watch. I’ve wanted something like this for a while but just found out they existed. It has all the features of a smart watch but with just a normal watch face.

I have the Ugg slippers because I love the hard bottom. I also have wooden floors and these are a dream on them. You can easily slip them on and off without hands, and the insides are so comfy! I’ve had my pair going on 3 years now. The only wear and tear it has is now the sheep fur inside the shoe has contoured to my feet perfectly. I also wear them outside when taking out the trash etc!
I highly recommend them. They are expensive, but considering how long they have lasted I think the value is there. :) good luck finding your dream slipper, Mama!

My SO has the same problem; she sometimes gets cold easily in mild weather. I tend to run very hot, but I can relate -- I get the Raynaud's phenomenon sometimes when I'm feeling crappy. For me, the worst part about getting warmed up is feet and hands. Once I've got my hands and feet toasty, the rest of me is usually fine.

On that theory, I bought her a little Zippo hand warmer which she's really enjoyed, and some goofy insulated sippers which she grudgingly tolerates. They look like hilarious tiny sleeping bags for your feet, and she laughs at me when I wear mine. She never wears the slippers for more than about an hour -- they get kicked off when her feet get too hot.

Both are pretty cheap and packable. If you decide they're not helpful for camping, they're good for plenty of less interesting occasions.

I ended up going with Totoro slippers (though not the ones you linked to-- I chose [these] (http://www.amazon.com/Totoro-Soft-Gray-Plush-Slippers/dp/B004RJRAVW/ref=pd_sim_sbs_t_2) instead), chocolate and regular D10 dice for B (though I was VERY close to purchasing the crusader mug from your link), and a Paul Muldoon broadside for C. I enjoyed your suggestion for C the most, but figured if I was going to spend around $30 for a teacup set, I might as well shell out an extra 10 for something truly personal (he's a big Muldoon fan).

Okay, umm I am going to our local community college (i had to transfer back home for mental health issues). I am studying Social Work because I really love talking to people, helping them out. And with the kind of crap I've been through in my life (like a "you name it, ive dealt with it" kind of thing), I'm starting to think the reason I am still breathing is because I can help others.

Something I could really use would be a lunch box to eat in between classes I chose this because its small enough for me to pack food without feeling overwhelmed (i dont like to eat) but big enough that i get some noms :) also a water bottle because I'd rather drink water than pop (soda if ya call it that) and slippers and/or socks I know slippers aren't technically "school" but in Michigan it gets SO cold all the time. As I'm typing right now I can't even feel my toes :(

My all-time favorite pair of shoes are these Cushe slip-on loafers. I bought several pairs before they went out of business, then started looking for a replacement.

Merrell offered a nearly identical shoe for a while, but it seems like those are being phased out as well based on the sizes available on Amazon and the lack of listings on the Merrell site.

My ideal shoe is comfortable / breathable, but with a solid sole for walking around urban areas. Boat shoes and loafers seem like the most likely alternative, but the soles don't seem great for extended walking. I also prefer a slip-on instead of laces.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure if you'll like these or these better, but it's starting to get cold out so everyone needs some boots! Like pronto! Just imagine how warm and soft they'll be, what's your favorite drink when it's cold? I bet they'll feel great in the winter when everyone is complaining about cold feet and yours are toasty warm. And you won't be that girl that's reusing hers from last year, no you'll be that awesome chick with the brand new awesome boots that everyone wishes they had!

I need this guy really bad. Like really really bad. Just moved to a new town not by choice and some scumbag broke a similar one of mine and now I have nothing! And did I mention I just moved? Size 12 as well. Tried these last trip. Worked fine for the beach and showering. They're as small as it possibly gets pretty much. I didn't love them but I don't know if its possible to get any more practical. I think next time I would try one of the other models like this or the more expensive ones for a little bit more structure.


I have also been eyeing these and these for the vibram and a little more structure. I've even considered teva but don't think I love sandals enough.

I personally hate sandals, especially chacos. I do wear rainbows a lot at home, not really for style, but more for practicality and I'm too lazy to tie shoes. I guess taking that mindset to onebagging, if you take up a ton of space and weight for chacos or tevas then you better be wearing them a lot. So if I'm going to bring sandals which I only use for showering and the beach/lake, the absolute smallest pair does well. As with most things r/onebag, there's a cheaper alternative that does fine too. Poncho instead of rainjacket. Trashbag instead of raincover, etc. A pair of $3 plastic dollar store flip flops honestly does the job just as well at the same weight and space.

But with those xero sandals, you technically could even hike in them, so I think they have the best overall balance

On the other hand, I will never trek without camp shoes! I’ve done two long treks now, once on the Lemosho route up Kili and once to Everest base camp. I think that having an alternate pair of shoes to switch into (along with dry socks) is invaluable. It’s just so nice to let your feet relax a bit while chilling at camp/eating dinner. Even if you are 100% spent, eat and go straight to bed, that’s easily 30-60 mins extra time in those sweaty, heavy boots. I use darn tough wool socks and insulated slippers found on amazon. So if you have any sandals you can wear with socks, I would bring those, but the shoes in the pic would definitely accomplish the same thing.

Treks with porters are some of the few times you can prioritize comfort over weight (within reason). I would never take these slippers backpacking, but for a trek, I won’t leave without em!

I nominate my Wife. Truth be told we do not have children of our own.. sadly it's impossible... however over her life she has raised just about every child in her extended family. From a multitude of cousins, 2nd cousins, 3rd cousins. her brother, her sister as well has her nephew and her niece. She has raised more children then the mothers that had given birth to them. She is protective of all she has raised even though they are far and away grown up. She will literally give her last dollar to her nephew because it would make him happy. She recently has gotten a bluebird card that allows her to set up sub accounts for others. she has set up a sub account for her Nephew and her Niece so she can take some of the little bit of money that she gets per month and give some of it to them so they have a little bit of an allowance. sometimes it breaks my heart to see everything she does and goes through and the sacrifices she makes of herself so others can have.. including me. She lives in total pain every day dues to having advance neropathy ( Spelling? ) in her feet, legs and hands. Yet now she works even harder then before so her own mother doesn't have to work hard while taking while they take care of her grandmother. Yes... my wife has gone from being the mother of her family's children to being the mother of her mother and Grandmother as well... No I'm not kidding. She is the Mother of mothers in my eyes.

For gifts? Well as I have explained before she has a skin condition that causes her to break out in really dry itchy blotches that are really annoying and embarrass her because of their looks. She cannot use conventional soap anymore as it makes things worse. Nothing she has gotten from the Doctors has really helped. However I have found that THIS Really can and does help.

Or Her feet tend to get really sore really easy due to her neropathy, so some fuzzy and soft slippers not only help keep them warm but her protect her feet when she walks around the house.

I'm actually really ladylike. The only thing I can think of is that my friends joke that I bought the least feminine looking pair of bowling shoes. I went with a black and white pair; a guy I bowl with actually has a similar pair. It seems like everyone thinks I should get a pair with pink, purple, ot some other girly color on them. However, I am not worried about looks. I want good bowling shoes, end of story.

Although, I think the coolest thing on my list is the bear slippers. I made a bet with my boyfriend that if I get them, I will go as PedoBear for Halloween and he will be the little girl. :-)

I make capsules and it can get dusty. My kids get grossed out. It got worse after Banamageddon I have a lot of unwieldy kilo bags.

I've found that microfiber cleans it up really well. Especially these. I just put one on my hand when I'm done and it's like the kratom was never there :)
