🎓 Reddit experts on snore reduction chin strips
The comments and opinions expressed on this page are written exclusively by redditors. To provide you with the most relevant data, we sourced opinions from the most knowledgeable Reddit users based the total number of upvotes and downvotes received across comments on subreddits where snore reduction chin strips are discussed. For your reference and for the sake of transparency, here are the specialists whose opinions mattered the most in our ranking.
I've had very similar issues for almost 15 years now so here's my best advice for you to discuss with your doctor(s):
Nasal/Sinus Surgery is your last resort, it may very well be necessary but unless there is a structural anatomical obstruction you want to try treating the symptoms & seeing if allergies are the root cause before you go cutting stuff away which will help but is definitely not without side effects so scheduling testing at an allergist should be your first move.
In the meanwhile there are some things that can help open your nose up at night that are cheap & easy try out:
-wearing a Breathe Rite strip to bed is 1 cheap way to see if you can improve your breathing. If it helps at all there are reusable "nose vents" or clips to help breathing & snoring that are also cheap to try. I’ve found these most comfortable but YMMV based on what fits your nose best: https://smile.amazon.com/Anti-Snore-Devices-Nose-Vents/dp/B07MJ75MMW/
-Nasal Irrigation with a Neti Pot may help as well. NeilMed has a nice squeeze bottle starter kit. I like to exercise to open things up then do my nasal irrigation while things are opened up then shower
-If dryness is an issue at all I have found that rubbing Ayr Saline Gel inside my nose significantly improves my quality of sleep. Both antihistmines & Afrin can dry you out so that may help more than you realize
AS for Afrin the rebound congestion MAY be less of an issue if you're on a steroid spray so obviously try to not abuse Afrin but if it was me I would keep using Flonase or Flonase Sensimist until the allergist gets you on their recommended mix of meds. FWIW I’ve found NeilMed SinuFrin Plus better than my old fav Afrin Severe as it includes some moisturizing aloe & nasal dryness is an issue for me.
As always, ask your doctor about all of this & good luck feeling better! I know the misery all too well as you can probably guess
Copypasta just to be sure nobody gets taken on this crap:
As a package, I'm not impressed. None of these are a viable alternative to CPAP. I've used 4 of the 5 items with some small success, but I see no reason to pay their astronomical prices for such mediocre products. Better products are available for less money on Amazon.
The pacifier thing I haven't used, but it doesn't seem to do much to actually open the airway. Even when custom made and medically supervised, these TRD devices aren't very effective. If you're seriously looking for an alternative to CPAP, look into some real oral appliances by checking with an ENT or oral surgeon who specializes in "sleep medicine". Keep in mind that these are all second line treatments to CPAP and that they aren't as effective with severe sleep apnea. Here's a couple examples:
http://www.dentalsleepsolutions.com/index.php/about-sleep-apnea/obstructive-sleep-apnea-treatment-three-types-of-dental-sleep-devices
http://finder.tapintosleep.com/patients-treatment-options-tap-therapy/
The chinstrap may be useful in combination with CPAP. Perhaps this could make CPAP more tolerable if it were more comfortable? Sometimes a chin strap can help people who breathe through their mouth use a nasal mask (which is less cumbersome and easier to use). I like the simple wide band variety that's $12:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006O8LVX2/
The eye mask looks cheap. It doesn't have deep sockets, so you eyelashes are going to hit the mask - something I can't tolerate. I've used this $8 mask and it works great with a full face mask (but not a nasal):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016OQYNL0/
For a nasal mask, this one is a luxury item at $50 but it's worth it. There really aren't many alternatives that can compete with this:
https://www.eyeeco.com/tranquileyessupsup-with-instants-for-moderate-dry-eye-relief-charcoal.html?cat-id=45
The little nose things can help get more air through the nose but don't expect miracles. The ones in the package could be adequate, but they only provide a single size of a single type. There may be better ones, but here's the assortment I've tried, which is a great way to see which size and type actually fits:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MSWZW0U/
Lastly, the earplugs look generic. It is absolutely nuts to pay $50 for something that's under $5 at any drugstore. Here's a better option:
https://www.amazon.com/Macks-Pillow-Soft-Silicone-Earplugs/dp/B003LZQGN6/
PS: with all the money you've saved, get a decent soundbar for your bedroom and get some ambient noise going. This is what I've been using:

Some type of heavy foam to cushion the strap? At least on the back of the head. Maybe there is some type of heavy shoe inserts that is foamy or of a gel type that would work and can be trimmed. Not sure how to keep it in place to align up with the strap. Might also find some lighter material that can cushion the nose area. Something spongy like maybe made out of the material they make those makeup sponges out of for foundation for women. It is similar to the spongy material they sell as padding for the nose rest on a pair of eyeglasses.
I'm really good at modifying things and designing solutions to things I just wish I were closer to you and I would help you in person. I'm in the San Diego area.
My other suggestion is to entirely change the way you are treating apnea and switch up the mask situation. usually you require a visit to your sleep apnea doctor and they will have a representative that can offer you various options and often when I go in they have the latest inventions in sleep apnea masks to show me.
I don't know if this would be an option due to anatomy and severity of sleep apnea, but I have changed my mask multiple times before I was able to truly get the treatment that I need. I use a mask that has headgear and sits snugly and gently under the nose, but I am thinking of switching to one that is an upgrade of the same mask that also goes over the mouth. Before I do this, I am probably going to try some headgear that someone shared a link to recently that is from Amazon that helps keep the jaw closed, because that is one of my biggest issues. I always put a small piece of clear medical tape over my lips vertically, about three eighths of an inch wide piece of tape from top to bottom lip to just keep my lips together but it doesn't necessarily hold the jaw shut. For me it did greatly reduce the mouth-breathing, though. I don't know the name of the mask right now it's the Dream something or other. I only use the nasal pillow that rests beneath your nose right now, there are no parts that actually go into the nose. It's done okay for me, but my sleep apnea might not be quiet as bad as yours as I have no weight issues to complicate things. The rep from the company showed me an example of the one that goes over the mouth also, and it really is comfortable and not at all obnoxious to wear. It attaches to a separate strap that has magnets that hold it to the mouth part of the mask.
I suggest finding a type of mak that doesn't have to seal over your entire face and get something that just goes around the nose underneath and trying a good jaw strap that will help you. The one I saw advertised and mentioned here, I believe it was under $20. If I can find the link I will add it below, let me take a look...

As for Ryobi ONE+ battery, I have something to say. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FLJ19Q8 I have had my Ryobi cordless drill for quite a few years and the batteries that came with it do not take a charge any more. They lasted for many years before finally dying. These Ohyesbat Ryobi P100 ONE+ 18V 1.5Ah NiCd Battery, works in my cordless Ryobi perfectly. It is almost like having a new cordless drill. This batteries are compatible with all past & present Ryobi & 18-Volt products. The batteries are just as strong as the ones that came with my cordless drill. I used it to drill some 3/4 inch holes in a four by four and the battery has plenty of power to do the job. It works like it did when the cordless was brand new. I am extremely happy with the battery and highly recommend it
Why not return if you find that one is not good? I just bought that OHYES BAT Ryobi ONE+ battery on amazon store, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FLJ19Q8
( I find that one above is out of stock.) I just cost 31 dollars for 2 packs, I found that the review shows that battery is good, and I give it a try. I am really interested in finding Cost-effective goods. Luckily they looks and packed good while I receive them.
Those are very cute! I love the lace up look. I'm going to get these when I have some money Owls!
Edit: Oh these too Sharks, so amazing
I bought these, they cut through anything like it’s not there... pricey but very worth it. If you do get these then make sure to clean them prior to trimming any wick as they have a coating of machine oil, but nothing will blunt these bad boys!

So yeah, overkill, but so what!
After using this product who bore use this product you can buy from Amazon. Hope you get a better solution from sleep apnea
You could try the product called Restoration. It is used to take most every stain out of linens. [Here] (http://www.amazon.com/Restoration-Hypoallergenic-Powder-Antique-Delicate/dp/B002ISCPD2/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1395918446&sr=8-6&keywords=restoration) it is on Amazon.com. It is great stuff.
Only surefire way: Get a chin strap (or fashion yourself one out of a cloth women's headband or other fabric.) These types of Amazon listings boast that the chin strap will stop you from snoring but that's just hype, if you actually snore the best treatment is CPAP (or losing weight, which is free!)
Likely causes of dry mouth: You're physically dehydrated, so drink more water during the day (since you don't want to drink a bunch right before bed.) You could also consider a small external humidifier for your bedroom. There's a small possibility you have clinical dry mouth issues due to an under production of saliva from your saliva glands, in which case you can get moisturizing mouth spray.
We used those little sterile collection containers they gave us for free in the NICU (these things) so they didn't have to worry about losing fancy ones if we brought milk in from home. They screwed straight onto the pump valves, and maxed out at about 4 oz each. I was getting a whopping 2-3 oz whenever I pumped, so I would just put the milk from each session into one container and toss it in the fridge. Husband got good at swirling the little bottles to knock the fat off (it melts with the heat of your hand), he would make a bottle with whatever I'd pumped and top it off with formula, and then we would wash and reuse the little containers.
I never pumped at work, though.
Just got one of these http://www.amazon.com/cheero-Power-Plus-10400mAh-DANBOARD/dp/B00GD0HUTU
its fantastic :P
I bought mine when it was $35, looks like they increased the price.
http://www.amazon.com/cheero-Power-Plus-10400mAh-DANBOARD/dp/B00GD0HUTU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1412613965&sr=8-1&keywords=cheero+Power+Plus+10400mAh
I bought these.
I loved that each size came in a different color (easier to find in my bag of hooks), but they were cheap as hell but comfortable to use.
Word of warning, though. I did have to sand a few burrs off a couple of handles. Other than that, I love them.
Yeah, just slap a new label on this!
https://www.amazon.com/Anti-Snoring-Devices-Strap-Upgraded/dp/B07VBVVR3R/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=snore+jaw&qid=1570035586&s=gateway&sr=8-5
I got this chin strap and it works well enough, at least cuts my waking up in half
It'll do until I can afford a sleep study 😂
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07984PQS1/ref=mp_s_a_1_9_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1536155135&sr=8-9&keywords=chin+strap+sleep+apnea&dpPl=1&dpID=51DeSX32p-L&ref=plSrch
I think it depends on the user, but I've tried two. This one worked ok, but was a hassle and left impressions on my cheeks when I woke up. The one I use now, is this one, which is much simpler and works great.
It doesn't take a lot of pressure to hold your chin up and keep your mouth sealed - much less than I was trying to achieve with that first strap. I'm bald, so I was worried about it slipping off without extra straps to hold it, but I have had no problem with it staying in place.
Has anyone tried a chin strap like this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JUKN7UA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_JtsSyb6AC9541
I use one of these occasionally and it works quite well for me.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/ZJchao-Professional-Snore-Snoring-Adjustable-One/dp/B00N2OCYAA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1458258435&sr=8-5&keywords=anti+snore+chin+strap
The inspiration was a mix of Johnny Walker and Glenfiddich, taking most of it's artwork cues from the latter.
It also had typically bleen a single malt, but I think this STERLING edition is the first to be listed as a blend.
I tried a bunch that kept falling apart, but have recently had luck with the Quiet Panda chin strap.
If you look around Amazon there seem to be chinstraps that look identical in structure but have different branding. Those are cheaper; I'd probably get one of those.
It's really sturdy and won't fall apart. The only problem is that the blue ink dye will rub off into the FFM plastic, turning it kind of grayish-blue, but it doesn't seem to affect skin.
hmm I was worried that would happen to me. I bought a chinstrap to keep my mouth closed just in case I needed....haven't needed it though.
have you tried one of those?
looks like this
It's a piece of perspex (do you have perspex in the states? A sheet of acrylic essentially) of a long and narrow dimension (about 12" by 4" and thin), with a slot cut in it to see if the letter/package can be pushed through the slot (which corresponds to the max dimension that can be sent as a letter or large letter).
Looks like this: Royal Mail Postal Guide / Template for Pricing In Proportion https://amazon.com/dp/B0093OCE1C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EAB1DbHD3FK0N
