So I have these OTK socks. The material is thick so not good if you want to layer with pants. But it makes you feel sexy to pair with a skirt or to lounge around at home with panties and a shirt :) I ordered a size up so that they would reach the upper thighs and if they're too long, I can bunch them around my feet/tuck into my shoes. The band at the top is rather thick so it seems to stay in place pretty well. Haven't tried wearing them with rainboots, but I bet they'd look freaking adorable!

Knee high socks always reach up to under the knee, which is frustrating b/c the pictures indicate otherwise!

Might just be me, but I don't think many women wear headbands lol! For makeup, you could try going to /r/MakeupAddiction and look for advice!

These are the gloves I'm talking about. There's the knit glove and then this faux-fur lining. On the harshest days, I'll use this since they block out cold air. I also have cashmere fingerless gloves from Club Monaco from a few years ago and it wasn't too pricey b/c there wasn't much material. On super cold days, it's not warm enough, but it's usually good enough b/c it is cashmere after all. I think this kind of glove would be great for you since it does look slimming and hey! Long fingers are beautiful!

Side note: How you cut your fingernails affects how long and dainty your fingers look. Ever since I started clipping them into an almond shape, my fingers have looked so delicate. Youtube vid on how to file nails into almond shape. Example of acrylic almond nails. Even though my nails are shorter than in both examples and always natural, the almond shape definitely helps the look.

Oh! By padded, I meant push-up! Also, with all those layers and the extra winter fat, the push-up bra helps aesthetically too lol

I like using a stainless steel insulated water bottle since I can keep really hot liquids and not burn my hands.

I'm grateful for my best friend. Yesterday, she asked me to lunch and brought me a wonderful bouquet of assorted flowers and made sure it had the most purple (my fave color!) along with a wonderful card that I've been carrying around with me all day. She said she thought I might have needed it because I didn't respond to her texts all weekend and canceled a plan for my birthday (I felt 25 wasn't worth celebrating and couldn't actually afford the big island/tiki theme like I was planning). I've settled for a nice dinner and drinks, hopefully full of laughter. I didn't realize how much I needed it with the stress of my new job training, that it completely took me by surprise, a small gesture without being told anything hit me with smiles all day and continues.

I think anything that is a "Women's [traditionally male clothing]" is bound to look fairly androgynous. Like women's button downs, women's sweatshirts and sweatpants, women's leather jackets, etc.

An a-line skirt could be good? Something like this and cheap fishnets were my partner's first 2 women's items (bought as a joke gift at least a year before she figured out she was trans, life is interesting). The skirt is still a favorite though. She'll wear it with t-shirts (sometimes unisex she bought before, sometimes mine or new shirts of hers) and no matter what it's cute. Also lipstick is a classic. Knee high socks and wide neck sweaters are super cute and comfy, especially if you live somewhere where it's getting cold now. Good luck!

These are pretty great. They're not very thick but I like that. Very breathable and no tab. I wear a size 5.5 or 6 and they fit well with plenty of stretch.

This is kind of a dumb quesiton but whatever. I have pretty small feet (usually a size 5, but sometimes 4.5, depending on the shoe). I feel like "no show" socks (this style, not the really tiny style) are not no show on me. Like they come up over my ankle bone, instead of being under it like the models in that amazon picture. Does anyone else have the same problem? Do I just need to convert to the really tiny socks if I want "no show"?

I'm also considering knitting all of my socks by hand, because I am an insane person.

Tbh I don't like hanging out with other trans people, or at least MtFs, because a lot of them only want to talk about trans stuff. On the one hand I get it, because they probably don't have anyone else to talk to about it with, but on the other hand, I spend every day and night of my life living it, I want to spend time with friends to get away from thinking about the fact that I'll never be normal and my entire life was ruined because I lost a 50/50 coin flip at birth. I'd rather be friends with someone on a solid foundation of common interests and a strong relationship, not one predicated on a shared, painful medical condition and my biggest insecurities. I'd like to be friends with a trans guy, they seem pretty chill, and our issues are different enough that there isn't so much overlap.

I think in many ways it stems from the fact that a lot of trans people have serious lingering mental issues from dealing with dysphoria and depression for so long, plus are probably insecure and feel a need to attack people to reassure themselves that they're okay. That's a bad combination for having a positive and constructive community, when half the members are or were suicidally depressed etc. I know there have been several times when I'm around town and seen a girl wearing those cat tights that were pretty popular and think like "Ha, I look so much better in those than that girl! Must feel bad to lose to a man at wearing tights!" because I am profoundly insecure and my legs are one of the only features I'm semi-happy with. Somehow it feels like if I compare myself to someone else in that kind of way, it makes me somehow less of a complete disaster by comparison. So I kind of get why some people end up doing the kind of things OP talked about, I don't really know what can be done about it, so I choose to not involve myself.

As a fellow thiccie, I find it useful to wear thigh highs on top of tights, as it keeps them from slipping down. I live in a northern climate, so this also functions to keep me warm snow or shine, so ymmv. I wear these socks from amazon almost every other day. I'm 5'7" and around 180 lbs, so they may work for you.

The material is a bit thinner than I'd like, personally. Very cute though.

What brands did you try? I use these ones from HUE (they come in nude or black) and they work great.

Hue no show socks are worth a try - they have grips on the back and won't fall down. The only issue with them is they're so thin and sometimes boots fit better with thick socks.

I have two pairs of these adorable cat tights!

I look for ones like these that are low enough for a smoking slipper/flat and have a silicone piece at the heel. I also don't buy "one size fits all" and look towards ones that are divided into small/large categories. When I leave the house in the morning, they will unclip from my heel once or twice, and then they are good for the rest of the day.

Otherwise, go with nude tights and accessorize with jewelry or an interesting jacket. It's tough to add tights to this without making it seem blocky.
