I got an awesome pair from Columbia recently before I went on a big hiking trip. So stretchy, so lightweight, but kept me warm enough when it was really windy out. They also have zippered pockets which is great, and were weirdly very flattering. They're sold out on the Columbia site, but here they are on Amazon.
Heyo! 6'2" here. I like these, might be extra handy with the buttons in the legs to pull them up to capris while biking. I've also found these really comfortable for day to day. Prana does about a 36" inseam on their tall sizes and they seem like miracle pants.
For merino my wife got several pieces off Merino Ridge and a few dresses and tech pants off Icebreaker. She loves the stuff from MR, Icebreaker hasn’t gotten here yet.
She also got a fewPrAna pants
Hope this helps!
Remember it is often windy and wet, so just down won't cut it.
This is what worked for me. I have a Uniqlo compact down coat under the Marmot component jacket (mine is a bit earlier version but same type of thing).
On super cold or snowy days I have these marmot precip pants and good warm boots. The pants have full zips on both sides so you can zip them on and off.
I tried the north face arctic ad metropolis but they just aren't warm and aren't as good as the marmot stuff (leak feathers).
You really need a long coat, so I am not sure if the component jacket will work - my Marmot comes to my knees.
I will try to see if I can find the long Marmot coat with the isolation and waterproof shell.
