Little things like pens and knives. Last week they showed [these] (http://www.amazon.com/Tramontina-Porterhouse-Steak-Knife-Set/dp/B0083I6852/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1381100762&sr=8-2&keywords=tramontina+steak+knives) instead of buying something that looks remotely like 1920s on ebay for $20.00 and they keep showing [this] (http://www.richardspens.com/?page=ref/profiles/balance.htm) from the late 30s which looks nothing like any pen from the 1920s: [flat top] (http://www.pentrace.net/RB_images/ft_pen03s.jpg) One of the most expensive shows in history can't buy accurate props on ebay for $20.00?

The best... don't care if they are knockoffs they still work great.

If money were no object I'd love to have Lamson:

But I'll never have enough money to justify that cost.

In our house we have Rada:

Nowhere near as beautiful, no mention of tang or steel quality, but still made in USA. And nowhere near as expensive. My parents have used them for 15+ years and we've had them 8+ in both aluminum and black handles.

I really don't like how they cut steak - a good non-serrated blade is much more to my preference (of course, this is purely subjective, to each their own).

I'm about to pull the trigger on this Messermeister set to replace this serrated set, I'm just looking for a set of knife guards for the Messermeister's...

I use Laguiole style serrated knives and couldn't be happier with these.

Their biggest advantage is they don't get dull quickly when cutting on a ceramic/glass plate.

As some people mention Laguiole, keep in mind that Laguoile is a place name and a trade name and not a brand. So not everything with "LaGuiole" on it is of the same quality.
I personally have a set similar to these, for about 5 years now, and they look as on the day were purchased.

I have a couple by Henckels and a set by Wolfgang Puck... but I think the key is just honing them regularly

I'd say steak knives. Right now we are cutting steaks with a paring knife and chef knife.

All I found were these: https://www.amazon.com/Melange-8-Piece-Ceramic-Handle-Knives/dp/B00RVZ07XW

Kyocera doesn't make any. You could get some 5" Kyocera tomato knifes and fake it though.
