Honestly, the seperate Keyboard situation is totally fine. The thing about the Keyboard case is, they get banged up so easily. I've seen a few reviews on them and most looked super rugged and used up after just a couple of months of usage. Personally, that bothers me given the price.

There are almost perfect replicas of the magnet case without the keyboard for 10-15$. I just got one of those and when i'm on the go i pack my wireless microsoft keyboard in the bag.

When i lay in bed i like to plop the Ipad out and just hold it without any casing around it, so the magnet cases are perfect for that. Plus, if you need extra protection for carrying it around in your bag, just get something like this https://smile.amazon.de/gp/product/B075L45WXP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/nmill11b · 2 pointsr/Surface

1- It's a convertible case.. you can use the flap to have multiple viewing angles in either landscape or portrait mode, but you can detach the flap and use it purely as a tablet; it even has a convenient handle for holding as such. It also has it's own kickstand when in tablet mode that has a slightly more intuitive viewing angle. The viewing angles and the kickstand are sturdy as well. I can take some pictures in a little bit if you want. I just kind of fold the keyboard into the flap and stuff it in my bag.

2- it's not heavy at all, especially if using it in tablet mode. The whole Case adds about .25 in to the overall thickness... about half that in tablet mode. It also does a good job of keeping the bezel free, so you can swipe from the edges just fine.

3- It's ventilated around the edges of the tablet. It does heat up, but my Surface heats up even without the case, and I can't tell any difference with or without it.

Here's the link to it: http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Rotatory-Detachable-Companion-Microsoft/dp/B00B0O16XK

I don't think it says anything about a pen loop in the specs, but I can assure you there is a pen loop.

u/aaon80 · 2 pointsr/Surface

I'm a big fan of the "Sleeve and naked Surface" method myself. I think it is such a nice device, putting a clunky case on it really spoils the appeal. But since I don't want it to get all scratched up, I keep it in a sleeve. I use this one: http://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Surface-Carrying-Microsoft-10-8-Inch/dp/B00YDRYGMO?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00

I really like it. The wool looks nice, and adds a bit of light protection, and the soft felt on the inside really keeps the surface of the Surface clean. Plus, it fits nicely and snugly with the type cover on, and it holds the pen well.

u/SmellsLikeHerpesToMe · 1 pointr/Surface

For anyone wanting to spend a few extra bucks, try out this one. http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00KGTPVH2/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's an amazing case that fits the SP3 perfectly. It has diamond shaped memory foam feeling material on the outside, and a furry inside to prevent scratches. Easy to use, and works well in a napsack.

u/ExiledBesmircher · 1 pointr/iPadPro

I have this tomtoc and I really love it. I keep it inside a Tom Bihn Synapse 25 backpack along with a MacBook Pro 15 and some other gear. The bumpers in the bottom have saved me from less-than-gentle set-downs on a few occasions. I’m sure tomtoc’s other products are great too.

u/nosit1 · 3 pointsr/GPDPocket

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EURJUD2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's a great case and fits the pocket perfectly! I put the charger brick and USB C cable in the little pouch in the front. Perfect size!

u/ThrowAway-47 · 2 pointsr/gadgets

If they are as fragile as a tablet you might have a bit of a problem. Looking around I don't see terribly much from a quick glance that might be of use to you as is under the assumption that these items need some protection and you want to put them all in something like a binder say, or other organization method that keeps them together better then in a multi-pocket bag.

What you might consider doing is get a somewhat cheap bag/briefcase or whatever you would prefer, and 5 small and cheap tablet carriers that you put inside.

I'm taking a guess here since like I said I'm not sure exactly what you want, but several of something like
http://www.amazon.com/Luxurious-Synthetic-Envelope-Carrying-Designed/dp/B0099B0CWC/ref=sr_1_113?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1457969023&sr=1-113&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A7817239011

If it's not too far outside your price range to get several. More details on what you would like might help me or others here.

u/brian21 · 1 pointr/ipad

I have this one for the 9.7 and it looks like real leather and has thus held up really well in what I'd say is a pretty grueling travel schedule the last few months. Looks like the company makes one for the 12.9 too. Pretty cheap.

u/mtl_as_poutine · 2 pointsr/Surface

I use a nixon sleeve, it fits the surface pro 2 with type cover 2 attached. It also has a pocket where I store the pen, a DP->VGA dongle, DP->HDMI dongle, a surface edition arc mouse. The power adapter fits in, but it's a bit too tight and produces a bump that is noticeable.

It has a strap that fits nicely over the hand, which makes it more secure to carry around. But for longer trips, I throw the nixon sleeve in a regular school bag.

u/yungstevejobs · 1 pointr/ipad

Get the otter box symmetry 360 case! It protects the edges unlike Apple’s smart folios. I use that plus this as a sleeve when I put it in my backpack. I take notes with my iPad as well and when I do I usually just flip the cover all the way to the back and it feels nice to write on because it’s pretty flat.

u/lunaprospect · 2 pointsr/ipad

I'm in the exact same boat as you for the exact same reasons. I want something like what comes with the Asus ultrabooks.

Upon hours of searching, this is the only thing that comes close

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0099B0CWC/ref=pe_385040_30332230_pe_334110_28247860_dp_1

I would prefer one made specifically for the iPad Air 2 but it looks like this is the best we'll get.

u/DamoIRL94 · 1 pointr/ipad

I think there might be a 12.9" version of this

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075L45WXP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought this and am extremely happy with it (11" 2018 Pro with Pencil)

The fit is perfect!

u/onemanwufpack · 2 pointsr/kindle

I decided I wanted sleeve instead of a case and have been super happy with my choice. It definitely has a premium feel.

https://smile.amazon.com/Bear-Motion-Premium-Paperwhite-versions/dp/B00M2LJSYY/

u/prosperosmile · 2 pointsr/boardgames

I have a laptop zippered clamshell case and a card deck box clamshell that I keep my rulebooks and boards or cards and pieces in, respectively.

They're nice because I can fit 3-4 games in them, they both fit in my backpack, and they protect my games fairly well. Total cost was about $6 because I got the laptop case from a thrift store and I repurposed the case of my FauxPro camera when it broke.

This is what the laptop case looks like.

This is what the card box looks like.

u/iceicebeibei · 1 pointr/chromeos

I got this one!

Tomtoc 360° Protective Laptop Sleeve Case Bag for 13 Inch MacBook Pro 2012-2016 Early | 12.9 Inch iPad Pro, Spill-Resistant 13 inch Laptop Briefcase Cover, Black Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H57VY9G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_lZl4ybM1FN5ZG

There's a little free room so it's not a snug fit, but it's good for what it is :)

u/qcoomer3 · 2 pointsr/Surface

A case is always nice to protect your new investment... I personally picked up one of these. It even has a loop to store the pen. I absolutely love it.

u/jpotpuppals22 · 5 pointsr/ipad

I generally prefer to keep my iPad thin and light while using it. So I am a big fan of running a slim case along with a sleeve for added protection while traveling. My current setup for the iPad Pro 11” is the Smart Keyboard Folio with a tomtoc shoulder bag sleeve (https://www.amazon.com/tomtoc-10-5-11-Shoulder-Microsoft-Keyboard/dp/B078RKMJMT/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1542215107&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=ipad+pro+11+tomtoc&dpPl=1&dpID=51-ANWSD09L&ref=plSrch). Tomtoc seems to make quality products, so I tend to recommend them. This sleeve in particular has a dedicated section for the Apple Pencil and enough room for the iPad’s cord and charger.

As far as screen protectors go, I’ve seen limited options that properly accommodate Face ID. I’m currently considering this one on Amazon from amFilm (https://www.amazon.com/amFilm-Protector-Tempered-Compatible-Rounded/dp/B07GVN143H/ref=mp_s_a_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1542215571&sr=8-15&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=ipad+pro+11+screen+protector). Their newest update to the product appears to address the prior issues with Face ID, by cutting out that area of the protector.

u/Mayormitch100 · 2 pointsr/ipad

I have this one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01D9LJ0IO/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It is nice. I have a 10.5 Pro and with a case on it is a tight fit to get into this sleeve. Without the case it slides in perfectly. The pencil fits regardless.

u/MrYiff · 1 pointr/Surface

I got an Evecase neoprene sleeve a bit like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Surface-Evecase-Water-resistant-Notebook/dp/B00KGTPVH2

So far seems to protect my SP4 pretty well as it travels in my rucksack to and from work.

u/bevmed · 1 pointr/ipad

I have not found any cases that are slim and yet not compromise safety.

At the moment I use a UAG metropolis case for my iPad 2018 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XYRHP7C/) and a cheap case for my iPad 2017 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079MB43RM/).

The cheap case is temporary because I'm currently living in another country for university, and I left my other UAG metropolis at home. When I get home during the summer or next year, I'll be replacing it with a new UAG case.

The cheaper case feels very flimsy to me that I'm not very confident that I want to bring my iPad 2017 outside. I can't imagine how people actually use Smart Covers and nothing else. But that's just my preference.

My UAG case has been time tested though, I fell twice on the pavement (yes, I read when walking to my exam hall, fell when I did not see the large dip on the pavement) and both times, my iPad came off pristine and unscratched, while both my knees were totally scraped. So I know for sure that my iPad is pretty safe inside the case.

The trade off - it's pretty heavy. I calculated that if I carry iPad 2018 + Logitech K380 + UAG case, it'll work out close to about 1.1 to 1.2kg, which is almost as heavy as my MacBook Air 2010.

Also one thing that bothers me with the cheap case is that it only covers 3 sides of the iPad: top, right and bottom sides. When you close the lid, the left side is covered of course, but when you open the lid and fold it, the left side is exposed. So if you read on the bed or you use it on the table, some dirt and crumbs can stick to the exposed side (I buy the case for protection and to keep my iPad clean and pristine, but it's useless if one side gets dirty).

I only found out about this after I bought it. I did not scrutinize the product pictures on amazon. Next time make sure to check all the sides on the Amazon product pictures. I only discovered recently that if I had paid more attention to all the product pictures, I would not have bought the cheaper case because of the exposed side when you folded it.

UAG Metropolis covers all sides of the iPad (with both folded and unfolded cover), so when you read on the bed or when you put your iPad on the crummy table in McDonalds with the cover folded, you know your iPad will stay clean.

The bad thing about UAG Metropolis - the iPad 2018 case does not come with a pencil holder, so if your kid is the kind of person who always loses stuff, you might be better off getting a Fintie case. I have not found a good case for iPad 2018 which can replace my UAG and comes with a Pencil Holder. I did not get a Fintie case because I wanted to get a silicone tip cover for my Pencil and Fintie case Pencil Holder would not fit that.

I have a separate Pencil case for my Apple Pencil (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XQXM89Z/). Since I'm in school I also use it to carry a real pen or two (for exams), my Lightning USB cable and a microfiber cloth in there.

I also bought this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XJDNQ2L/). I replaced my Apple Pencil Lightning Cap with this one, and I use the silicone tip to protect my Apple Pencil tip, because I've heard that if you drop it on the tip, it's a goner. It also helps the Pencil not to roll over the table.

See my other post here about using the same silicone tip to dampen the sound of the Apple Pencil against the iPad surface, so your kid can use it to study in the library

u/SoaringFox · 2 pointsr/ipad

I think you should go for it. I never had my pro in college, but I use it for taking notes in meetings at work now and it is awesome. It takes a bit of getting used to because it feels different, but having everything in one place and being able to search through my handwriting (with Goodnotes) is worth it.

I got this case for mine. It's less than $20 and it has a little loop on one side to keep the Pencil in.

Have this and it fits the iPad Pro 11 with ASK and pencil 2 magnetically attached. It’s fantastic.

u/FlareHeart · 3 pointsr/Nexus7

I bought one of these from my local computer store for $10.

Simple, black, and a single pocket for the cable. The neoprene is durable and padded, and the tablet fits into it like a dream. I love mine.

tomtoc 10.5-11 Inch Tablet... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CC423ZL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I got this sleeve off amazon. It’s been great. No complaints. It really is a perfect fit.

u/kogami24 · 2 pointsr/huion

Tablets around this size are quite rare so I guess searching for "14 inch/15 inch laptop hard case" would be a better alternative? Sure it's made for laptops but hopefully they should serve well as any tablet case.

Few results I found are this and this.

u/rechade · 1 pointr/Nexus7

Neoprene are quite nice. I've ordered this Amzer one for 7 inch tablets. It's also got an accessories pocket. I'm hoping I can get a magnet in there to use the smart cover feature (desirable+).
Does anyone know how precise and close the activation needs to be?

u/Cybarrius · 1 pointr/PixelBook

That's an awesome looking case. The loop for the pen and the lock makes it even better. Having space for the cable is a plus too. I might have to buy this as a backup

but that's not 87% off and it's way less fun to play with.

I use This case, it works really well.
I'm a mechanical engineering student and take written notes on my Surface Pro every day in class.
The different positions it lets you prop it in make such a big difference. Also being able to remove the cover flap is nice. Pen loop and space for swipe in gestures around the screen are also big pluses.

u/Cameron167 · 1 pointr/Surface

I used to be like that too, I'm on my fifth pen now. I ended up buying a case for all my surface accessories and pens. I've formed a habit of placing it in the case and checking the case before I leave anywhere I do work. I also put a tile locator in it incase I lose the case. It seems to help so far.

i bought a generic 7in tablet case that zips up on 1 side and half of the other two, it has a decent pocket on the top to put stuff. for protecting it with handles it works but wish it was alittle tighter around the system.

There has been couple other posts about this on the subreddit with couple other ideas.

Fantastic idea! Didn't think of this. I just bought this one...

This one is pretty decent: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B017JG9SGE/ref=oh_aui_i_d_old_o1_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1. This is what I have.

It is not too expensive, decent quality. It fits well SB1.

Reviews on Amazon are fairly detail / insightful if in doubt or comparing to similar...

I have been using the ProCase (see link below) since I was using SP3s, I even got one for my Surface Go, it's a nice durable, yet soft-enough case. It's not cloth like the one you linked, but it has served me well.

I bought this one, and it works like a dream. Plus it uses magnets instead of velcro.

I have the Moko one and I really enjoy it. Link

Anyone have any experience with these two? Which is better?

If the P2 has same dimensions as P1, this is a great, form-fitting sleeve:

https://www.amazon.com/Google-Nexus-Tablet-Sleeve-GLE10100/dp/B00EURJUD2/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1549052922&sr=8-13&keywords=%22nexus+7%22+sleeve

Cheap enough to have as a low-impact sleeve in safer places. Along with maybe this:

But again, I don't know if P1 and P2 have same measurements.

I really liked the black Nixon case that Microsoft used to sell...

Currently using this Surface 3 sleeve while I wait for a Pixel C-specific sleeve. It's larger than the Pixel C but it's not awful. I love the materials in design, hopefully they make a product-specific version sometime.

I have a sleeve for my Surface Book. It has the power button in the same place as all other Surface devices.

The design has the button fall in the seam between the front and back panels. I bought it back in March 2017. Still looks good and I have never had it trigger a power up issue.

Fits in my backpack's laptop sleeve. And in my new roller bag's file folder section.

I got this, holds the iPad Pro 9.7, in the smart case, small spot for the pencil inside. Cheap and works.

I do not use a case when I'm reading. When I bought my PW, I struggled with whether to buy a case or not. I had a Kindle Keyboard at one time, and I always felt that the case made it too cumbersome. It's a sleek device and supposed to be very light. So, I finally decided to just get a sleeve to keep it from getting dusty or scratched up when not in use. I bought this one, and I'm really happy with it:

I have this one from ProCase. It fits really well (including pen on side of screen), allows you to charge while in the sleeve, and has been durable so far.

I use this:
MokoCase

I like it a lot and I don't really have any issues with overheating.

Get this sleeve:

https://www.amazon.com/Smatree-15-4inch-Laptop-Compatible-MacBook/dp/B07GL4BQ91

It's the one I personally use for my OLED blade 15, it is a hard shell case that feels quite rugged, especially for the price.

As for a bag, I'm using the Razer Mercenary backpack as it is very heavily padded and nearly waterproof due to the rubberized interior.

Not sure if it is discontinued yet or not (I got it back in 2016 when I got my blade 14 2016) it is this one here: https://www2.razer.com/ap-en/gaming-accessories/razer-mercenary-bag

Personally can't stand the tacky neon looking ones, so I've been using this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017JG9SGE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Decent price & decent protection for when your book is.. well.. in between some books.
Only downside is that there's no extra corner protection, but I couldn't find that on any sleeves. Does include a slot for charging and a place for a pen.

u/buddybd · 3 pointsr/Surface

I use this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L661Z6U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And I just throw it into my backpack. I also use the sleeve underneath the Surface when I'm writing on it. It's nothing too fancy, cheap and gets the job one.

Edit: One problem is that the cover does not fully close when the Surface is inside it, not a big deal for me as it's usually in the bag when not in use.
