Top Reddit comments about Tablet Stands:

Here’s my loadout:

First, I like being able to play in tabletop mode as I like having the joycons removed and separated while I play on the go, I carry the straps (though I removed the strap part so it’s just a way to add extra width to the joycons) and this tablet stand because I do like the normal one.

Next up, I use a portable USB-C charger with a PD port on it. I used to use a third party Switch charger since I’m not using it to dock, but I like having the option to charge my phone as well.

Finally, I use a case to carry everything in. The normal slim ones definitely aren’t enough, so I use one like this that fits everything so I can have everything on the go in a compact space.

TLDR: I keep a tablet stand, joycon straps, and a portable charger in a large case for when I’m on the go with my Switch. None of these are must haves, but I enjoy them all.

P.S.
One ESSENTIAL accessory is a screen protector. I got a small scratch on my bezel from my dock and it still bugs me I didn’t get a screen protector immediately. It baffles me that there’d be a design flaw like that, but it happens.

Finally, a lot of people like the Satisfye grips. While I’ve never found them necessary, a lot of people have. It would also be worth getting the bundle with the carrying case since it wouldn’t fit in a normal one.

Hope this helps or gives you some ideas of what you might want.

u/godelbrot · 14 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

It's a bit on the pricey side at $39.99 USD

but the fact that it's sturdy, allows charging, and takes up so little space that it should fit in pretty much every Switch case to me makes it a winner.

Runner up was the Arkon Folding Tablet Stand much cheaper, but not quite as sturdy, significantly larger (won't fit in most Switch Cases), and would likely require a right-angled USB C cable to charge while in use.

edit

If the price of the Compass V2 throws you off, the original Compass V1 goes for like 15 bucks on Amazon and it's actually slimmer then the V2 but apparently less sturdy.

edit 2

also there is a cheapo version of it for 10 bucks but I can't attest to its quality. Thanks u/doublespoiler and u/soma04 for the tip.

u/JacobusSpades · 1 pointr/Surface

(Disclaimer: This post assumes no hardware defects with either unit; plenty of people have been reporting problems with the Surface Pro 2017 and the Surface Pen being used together, see this sticky. As far as I know the SB2 doesn't have this issue.)

I'd personally give the edge for drawing to the Surface Pro just for the kickstand. You can kind of get the same thing by reversing the Clipboard and propping up the Book in the same way but it's not quite as stable and takes up more space. Of course since the i5 model doesn't have the dGPU in the base you can just as easily detach the Clipboard and prop it up on something like this. If you typically draw with the tablet flat/near flat on the table though it's a moot point as either will do.

I don't have enough experience typing on the Surface Book to say which is better but I love typing using the Type Cover on my Pro 4. The scissor switch keys have just enough travel, the layout is much better spaced that previous Type Covers, and the magnets holding it at an angle let you choose between the incline or flat orientation (the flat is more comfortable than you'd think). With the Surface Book of course you'll get a more traditional typing experience, including it being much more "lapable".

Finally, if you're willing to drop down to the 128GB SSD on the Book you can actually get it cheaper than the equivalent Surface Pro ($1,199 vs $1,299), whereas with the Pro you'll want to factor in the cost of the Type Cover (pretty much a necessity) which will put it at ~$1,430 USD.

I bought the good one on Amazon if you search "Nintendo Switch Bed Mount" I believe its the $19 one. It is solid and totally enjoyable to play in bed with the joy cons. You can lay in any position and the joy cons make it possible. everyone appreciate the Link https://www.amazon.com/EasyAcc-Nintendo-GooseneckCellphone-Rotating-Flexible/dp/B01J19TE84/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1494610050&sr=8-2&keywords=nintendo+switch+bed+mount

u/mikejandreau · 3 pointsr/drums

I think you could do the same thing with a music stand. You just need to make sure the part you’re clamping on to is thick enough for your clamp.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for anything with a straight arm leading up to it.

You could also consider going digital with your sheet music and put it on an iPad and then use something g like this CTA Digital PAD-AFS... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HFRYAGQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. I have one to my left of this exact model that I use with my iPad to play the tracks I’m playing along to and it works perfectly.

u/azavie · 2 pointsr/k12sysadmin

First I would try to as much as possible figure out how to prevent the situation that caused the tablet to break instead of trying to find the perfect armor.

I'm assuming it is not drops and falls breaking the ipads since they still seem to be breaking frequently with good quality cases. But if they do drop them frequently maybe something like this http://www.amazon.com/URGE-Basics-Swivel-Grip-Tablets/dp/B00DZXS8DK

or this

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BCSYZVY could help.

If they are breaking from being put in book bags and then being thrown around maybe something that covers the screen like this http://www.amazon.com/modulR-Tough-Cover-Accessories-C51-50-M/dp/B00I3YKEKG would work

u/exiledfathom · 2 pointsr/Surface

I think what you are describing is a mounting arm. Amazon carries a few. I linked one that is a clamp mount and one that is a stand style below:

https://www.amazon.com/ChargerCity-Release-Telescopic-Samsung-Microsoft/dp/B00SM4A9D4

https://www.amazon.com/AboveTEK-Heavy-Aluminum-Gooseneck-Holder/dp/B00X8C39J6

If you want to go the DIY route, a Microsoft engineer designed a VESA compatible dock that is pretty cool as well. You will need access to a 3D printer however, but it is a cool concept non the less.

Yes - Nexus 7. I use it for lyrics.

I bought the tablet stand on Amazon for $30 - TOTALLY worth it - and it'll hold multiple sizes of tablets.

I use LyricPad for lyrics because it scrolls automatically and has some great setlist and song organization features.

I have a Plinth which I got from a Kickstarter project - it's not integrated into the case but that means you can use it with any case you like (or no case), and in portrait mode as well as landscape. It didn't work with my 12.9" Pro, but it's brilliant on my 10.5".

u/IrreplaceableEraser · 3 pointsr/Zwift

I have this one. It’s in my garage for the same size iPad. It works great, is solid/heavy, and easily adjustable. I recommend it.

Been using it for a few weeks, mainly to watch shows in bed. It's... not ideal.

The whole thing tends to want to lean over. And I don't think it would work with a case (unless it was a very thin case).

u/spentthedayonreddit · 1 pointr/3DS

Scratch my comment from earlier, I thought of something different, what about a tablet stand??

One for phone, another for a tablet sideways or the switch or one that is super extend long ways for the switch. Perfect for being suspended and able to charge at the same time.

u/prophyx · 1 pointr/Beatmatch

I use the CRANE Stand Elevate, which is great for either a laptop or a controller. It's customizable in that it can be set up in either a C-shape or Z-shape configuration, with multiple angle adjustments and risers for height extension. In the Z-shape configuration it's a bit more stable, and can hold my Traktor Kontrol S4 in place without any side-to-side play or shaking.

It's a bit pricey at $79 on Amazon, but for the build quality it's definitely worth considering.

u/Outlet8 · 1 pointr/ipad

I love this stand, just a cheap amazon one. Works really well and folds nearly flat for travel.

Sure, VR keyboard would be nice. Huge waste of dev resourcing though I think. Just get a wireless keyboard and put it on a floating arm of your chair. Add some adhesive backed pads to select keys if the built in nubs aren't large enough for you to identify where you are placing your fingers by feel alone. You can get the pads for a couple dollars at any hardware store.

These are what I have attached to my ED chair. Simple, cheap, wireless mini keyboard mouse combo and a floating adjustable arm. Works perfectly.

For anyone that might be interested, I picked up this stand back when I had my Nexus 7 (went through 3 with issues, decided to get a refund + wait til Christmas to buy myself a new one.) Works great and it's cheap!

u/Jatilq · 2 pointsr/Lineage2Revolution

I am trying it now with my iPad Pro 12.9 and the nimbus steelseries it does work, but the buttons need to be mapped better
A is Attack, X is first skill, Y second and B last

Only left control works for movement.
Edit.. still testing as writing

A is attack and if you hold any of the other buttons it will use available skills. I play an elder and it will not heal me if I hold X , but Y will. You will have to test how your class works.

I use a magichold for my ipad, macbook and galaxy tab s3. I had to buy an extra arm for it.

Thanks to this question, playing the game has become much more enjoyable.

You might want to send him this link. That would solve his problem, he just needs something like a mic stand to mount it on. The Dremel question wasn't the brightest, but it's always nice to actually offer a solution.

u/ReliableSource · 2 pointsr/ipad

I got an Amazon basics bluetooth keyboard and it's nice for the money, but too cramped imo, so I'm going to replace it with a Logitech K811 which should be arriving soon. As far as a stand, i got this and think it's good for the price

If you have an iPad, try out this IPad clamp. Pretty easy to clamp to your treadmill and watch Netflix or the hundreds or “virtual runs” that are on YouTube.

I'd argue this one looks even better. That is assuming there's a good place to attach it to like on your headboard.

Found the American version. I'm pretty sure it's the same one, the joints, arms, and brackets look identical. They probably come from the same factory in China. http://www.amazon.com/LapWorks-Armbot-Tablets-Relaxed-Viewing/dp/B008GMGNBE/ref=sr_1_22?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1453410524&sr=1-22&keywords=tablet+arm

Yeah, I use mine with a cheap version of this (which is no longer available, it looks like) in tabletop mode so I can charge/play at the same time. Using an angled charger with one like this should allow you to get even more possibilities for angles, and of course, you have the upside of not having to worry if you're resting the Switch on your stomach.

There are already a lot of 7" tablet accessories out that would work well with it. I like the Amazon stand to hold it up like an alarm clock.

u/stan_qaz · 1 pointr/sonos

CR-200s are getting pretty old and are prone to several common failures so it would be a risky move. If you have it hopefully you can deal with the tiny screen, we had to use a stylus on ours, no regrets the day it blew smoke and died.

I went for a bit more expensive Android tablet, looking for longer support times. I picked up a Samsung that was on sale at Costco. It is an excellent option with a 7" screen, big enough for our fat fingers and blurry eyes.

Added a stand and a magnetic power cable and it is easily portable or left sitting as a Sonos status display.

It's a tablet FLOOR stand. I put it on the floor in front of my bike and it has a flexible neck that I bend over the wheel to be closer to my face.

It’s from Amazon:

It’s really lightweight and if you put a book under it’ll be even with the laptop screen.

These types of stands normally go on sale, so just keep an eye out. I got mine for $5 and use it all the time!

Ordered some additional accessories that I already think are must haves.

At the recommendation on another thread, this gooseneck clip https://www.amazon.com/Gooseneck-Tablet-Holder-Lamicall-Stand/dp/B07GQNRQ86

I use one of these and just keep it on a cabinet shelf at about eye level. It does require leaving a cabinet door open though.

I think there is really only one option here: Install a dedicated tablet for the bathroom configured for that one access point.

Sorry for the small gif. No idea how you can make that larger from the source.
