I planned one for my sister and tbh it was the most stressful part of the pre-wedding activities. I didn’t like planning one and I don’t like attending them BUT they’re very popular where I’m from. In my area at least, the entire point of a Jack and Jill is to raise a little cash fund for the couple, so I felt immense pressure to make sure the couple actually made a profit (because I know couples who have gone through the work only to next a couple hundred bucks). Find a big ball for as cheap as possible and sell as many tickets as you can!

Most that I’ve gone to have ticket prices around $25, some then do $40/couple. They all have raffle prizes (usually the type where you tear tickets off and throw them in a bag + a few big ticket items where the tickets cost more). For big ticket items, we did a TV, a lottery tree, 2 frills, and a Yeti cooler. Most small ticket prizes were donated by friends and family. We also had a booze raffle table as part of the small tickets. I highly suggest getting raffle ticket sheets like these - they’re much easier for guests and we got a lot of good feedback on them.

Food wise, go simple buffet from somewhere cheap but good, maybe BBQ or a pizza-joint type place that can do ziti, meatballs, salad, etc. desserts can be cookie trays from Costco. Many J&Js have a cash bar and some include keg beer as part of the ticket price.

Games are another good/fun way to bring money in. I’ve seen Plinko and paying to Pie to the groom or bride. I’m sure there are other ideas out there, too!

Right. We cut everything off and took about 15-20 minutes to collect the chips (just used the cheap plastic ones), then did the raffle.

Our top prize was a new XBox 360.

What we did was everybody got 1000 bucks in chips for a $5 donation, and you could buy up to 4,000 bucks in chips at once. Every raffle ticket cost 500 chips.

Just go out and buy yourself something like this for the tickets.

And then, ideally, those cheap plastic chips.

Do 5, 25, 100 for chip increments. You could even have like 100-200 other color nicer chips sitting on standby in case you want to throw out some 1,000 chips.

Happy early birthday!!
Oh I've wanted one of these forever, and I'm sure you have too! All those tickets laying around with nowhere to put them...

It's a generic ticket.

You can go buy a roll of 2000 of them yourself.

They are often used for raffles and the like.

There's no way to tell you where this came from, but it almost definitely did not come from an arcade or something as a prize ticket. Because you could simply buy a roll of these instead of earning them. A raffle is more controlled because they're only selling a couple hundred tickets typically and therefore the numbers used will only fall into a narrow range.

I put mine in a book similar to this.

Easy to add tickets, and easy to flip through.

[SOLVED]
Extra info: I found them earlier today, and the numbers were ranging from about 900220-900340. I would like to know if they are from an arcade, public transport, or other things and where so I can get more information about them at the site. I'm in Scottsdale if that helps for the location.

EDIT: theres nothing on the back.

What do you do with your football tickets?

Last few years I've been keeping them in this. It's almost perfect- small sleeve for the ticket to go into, and a few lines beside it where I can write down the score and goalscorers. Only downside is the design on the front, can't find anything similar for sports.

What does everyone else do? Keep them somewhere to collect, just chuck them when you're done?

u/KetoSaiba · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

If it is in a physical cinema, hand people a ticket as they go in the door. Hold raffles between matches.

Do you have some ticket stubs lying around from the concerts you've been to? Maybe make them into a collage, or buy him a ticket stub diary (like this one: http://amzn.to/1NEQ0WF) to preserve them.

As for local adventures, hit up Groupon and try to find something unique like a hot air balloon ride or an escape room!

u/blindbug · 3 pointsr/Damnthatsinteresting

A roll of 2000 tickets is about $8... so 10,000 should be worth about $40. A lot of around 10,000 Chucky Cheese tickets goes for about $75 on ebay. You could start there if you wanted.

u/jopnk · -3 pointsr/gratefuldead

please find a different place for the stubs, having them in the frame doesn't look good. I use a stub book, keeps everything orderly and you can add in setlists to accompany the ticket, plus it won't be covering your art

u/JohannesVanDerWhales · 1 pointr/mildlyinteresting

Personally I have a ticket stub book.
