For my makeup table I have a 3 way mirror that both sides move, that way i can see all sides (behind when I do my hair). That way your lighting is true to the outside lights.
I wish mine had more storage. Id suggest maybe doing like the picture and having some on top that hold the stuff you use all the time. Mine has drawers that I keep everything else in. To clean it, because mine gets dusty and left over makeup (powder), I use cleaning wipes. Hope this helps!

For everyone that’s wondering -

This is the vanity and stool. I really like them both. The vanity is a nice size and it has two drawers with removable dividers and the middle part comes up and has a mirror and more removable dividers. My only complaint is that the draws come out too easily. There’s nothing to catch them. It’s a perfect set for the price. It comes in black, too.

This the mirror. I’ve had a few light up mirrors, and this one is by far my favorite. You can change the intensity of the lights. The mirror shows every little skin imperfection, which is both wonderful and the stuff of nightmares. I think it comes in black and white also, but the other colors are under separate listings.

This is my first vanity and I couldn't be happier! It's not too big but has TONS of storage and under $200! If you look at the reviews, you can see that some people installed lights. I didn't install lights on mine because it sounded too complicated for me hehe... but definitely don't skip out on the comments because that definitely helped make my decision :)! I WILL WARN YOU, it was a b**** to install and definitely requires 2 people to be efficient! BUT WORTH IT!!! Hope this helps!

this one on amazon looks like what you want, i cant judge the quality but really any desk with drawers will do. big mirror would be amazing, but a lightup zoom in double sided makeup mirror is essential. and maybe a cute tray :)

My apartment is reaaaaallllly small and shared with my boyfriend, so I’ve tried to make the best of the space I have without too much clutter. I think the acrylic organizers are starting to look a bit messy, though :/ Long term goal is to acquire a nail and hang Rilakkuma up on the wall 🐻 And maybe some other wall storage.

I'm saving for this vanity because I need a battlestation! I would love to have somewhere to sit down and relax to get ready every morning. This one is my dream vanity! It's just beautiful. Saving Private Ryan is a great movie.

My wife’s birthday is coming up and I plan on surprising her with this vanity. The problem is, she is used to this Simple Human mirror, which she says has awesome light. The vanity of course has no light and will unfortunately be located in a relatively dark spot in our bedroom. What I would like to do is mount two strips of lights along the sides of the center mirror. The best I can find that is not too wide for the wood, yet (I think) still has decent dimmable light is this soft white light strip from Home Depot. It fits perfectly along the wood, isn’t too gaudy, and puts off either an incredibly bright soft white or a bit more subdued soft white light. But being a guy, I don’t have much experience with this subject. My goal is to hear, “It’s perfect!” and not, “I love it, but…”, so any help anyone can give me would be extremely appreciated. Yess we are the same! I just went all out and bought a ton of high-end makeup after a full Sephora consult, the Sigma professionals brush kit, and a pretty vanity! I am primed and ready. I almost picked up MR today but it was sold out online at Sephora :'(.

I think after the above comment and a few youtube videos, that I have a good idea of what brush to use for what. This coming weekend when my vanity arrives I will be taking my time and trying out my Naked 1 palette to start off! eeeek so so excited!

I think you should keep a cute little stool/seat under there. For a couple reasons. First, if you kept a chair at it, it would have to always be open, which would look sloppy because it is a hideaway and having an open cupboard just looks sloppy. Second, if you don’t keep a chair at it, then you’re having to drag over the chair every time you use it. Third, you’d have to have some separate spot to keep the chair at, which is just taking up floor space unnecessarily. I think the way this is built, it’s meant to keep a seat under there. So you should get a nice one with a fancy cushion. Perhaps even one on wheels to slide in and out easily without scraping on the floor. Though you can also get pads for the bottom of the legs. On second thought, wheels might actually be more likely to scrape the floor, depending on the quality and without a floor mat. Pads are probably the better option. This one looks like it’d go nicely with the rest of the room. Though it would sort of be a shame to have it hidden away most of the time. Bit of a conundrum. Getting a cheaper one doesn’t feel like it does justice to the greatness of this little nook, but getting a fancy one also feels wasteful by having it mostly hidden.

We found it through Amazon. My husband set a price range, and I just browsed until I found one I loved. It's excellent, but I've had problems with the stool. We only had out bed in the bedroom, and the bedspread was white with light green, blue, and brown floral pattern. Good luck with finding the one for you!

Sure thing! this was the mirror I bought. It is a little pricey but it is very large and is had two outlets on the side (that I use for my smaller lighted close up mirror) and the lights have a dimmer which is nice when I want to see how my makeup will look in different lighting

I bought mine in black, and it was shipped by amazon at the time, so it didn't have the ridiculous shipping cost, but it looks like the other two colors are still shipped by amazon.
