Now this is interesting.
I'm in my late twenties, and have been suffering from varying degrees of acne my whole life. At one point I even did a cycle of Roaccutane, which helped for a while, but then the acne just came back again. Recently I've been using topicals like benzoyl peroxide, but I hate how it dries the skin. I also drink lots of milk daily (about a liter or so)...

According to SilverHydra, it's not the actual dairy that causes acne, but the increased insulin secretion (link). And it seems both 1) and 2) have something to do with altering our insulin sensitivity and/or levels... so could it be that all these "treatments" have the same outcome in our bodies, i.e. decreased insulin?
Any thoughts on this? Has anyone tried more than one of the options above? I really like my dairy, so I'm probably going to try 1) and 2) first before giving it up altogether...
Have you done anything different with your diet? Some people have had success with a reduction or elimination of dairy and sugar?

I tried taking the 500mg, but I got really bad headaches. And it was already in another supplement I am taking by Murad. It’s vitamin B5, and I’ve seen other redditors say they get breakouts from B vitamins. 🤷♀️ I break out from anything Biotin, even topically. I was using a shampoo that had Biotin in it and I had to kick it to the curb.

I breakout in my “beard area” of my face. I feel like if I don’t put on a drop of the Ordinary’s niacinimide on my beard area first in my routine I will get clogged pores. I also wash my face and put on TO niacinimide and salicylic acid on my face before I work out.
Have you tried putting eucerin healing skin cream on it? (The red top) I’m convinced it works miracles. Do a patch test first.

It basically just a type of vitamin B. It's not fat soluble and so the consensus is that their are virtually no side effects. A side effect I've noticed is drier skin, but that's good. It means it's working and doing what it's supposed to do, reduce oil production. Some note reduced hair growth or hair loss but this is rare and I haven't experienced this whatsoever. It's sad that it took my so long to find this. There's not much info on it but it's what ended up working for me. This is the type I buy. Hope that helps!

It's a beard supplement, for a thicker and fuller beard but it affects all hair. It's pretty much a multivitamin that contains collagen and minerals. Lacking in vitamin d tho, I take a separate vit d supplement once in awhile.
Panthothenic acid my friend. 4grams a day cleared every last pimple and blackhead from my whole body.

Only vitamins. Been taking Focus Factor for a bit over a month now. And started taking a beard growth vitamin about a week and a half before the rash.....
Also started the keto diet (high fat, low carb) about a month ago, but I've tried to eat as clean as possible while still maintaining the ridiculous diet.

i dunno long term safety of such high dose B5 but it is a water soluble vitamin so your body normally just pisses out the excess so risk of toxicity is very low.. also can't be any worse for the body than accutane or those antibiotics.. so far a year into my B5 treatment and have had zero side effects aside from little stomach discomfort during the first month

Zinc tablets are also supposed to be helpful, but really upset my stomach.
Using the above and nightly running Emu Oil all over my face + my Curology seems to be the trick. If I miss the pill step, then acne everywhere gets worse, if I miss the Emu oil step then I get closed comedones (no. clue. but I did use to get them from the Curology so maybe that...), and if I miss the curology I worry my face will be one big wrinkle.
I also drink Apple Cider Vinegar relatively routinely.

But it's worked for me.
Oooh, I also used to, with GREAT success, just use a salt bar on the place of my body that had acne. I just rubbed my hands over the salt bar, rubbed hands over portion of acne body, repeat. It's rather drying so I don't do on my face anymore, but I was able to go from Minocycline daily to JUST salt barring it up nightly and my acne stayed the same.

Do not take a b complex vitamin as your main source of b5. You need 10 GRAMS+ not mg of b5 for it to work. I would start at 5 grams and work your way up to the 10 gram dose. If you're worried about the dosage, you can try Dr. Dach's protocol of 750 mg of B5 with 250 mg of L Carnitine three times a day. Though, I would take a b complex daily to maintain your body's stores of other b vitamins. After 1 week, my skin wasn't oily like it used to be, but I still had old cysts/acne from before I started the regiment. After 2 weeks, all my old cysts had healed, and I had no new flare ups/break outs. Right now (3 and a half weeks into my treatment), I have zero acne, just discoloration and some scars from previous break outs. Here are the links to what I bought.
