The Galactic Solar War: War of the Planets

War of the Planets is 1st in a Series of Book that will help make up the core of my The Galactic Solar War Universe.

The Store is actural a sequal to a short story I wrote just for family members but as a Bonus I included it with ever Book 1 as a Bonus Chapter.

War of the Planet is the first installment of my Space-Themed Adventure Series.

3000 Earth Years an Alien Force called the Dark Star Army invaded out Solar System. The Core God of each of the planets known as a Core Dragon were called forth to defend their planet from this alien force but by doing so they had to become mortal. The Core Dragon of each of the planet were called into actions to become Heros of their planets. All of that is from the bonus Chapter.

Now for about the main story.

3000 Years later the DSA is back and with out the core dragons the planets are now relaying on the Mortal Decendents of the Dragons to take up the fight as the new Solar Warrior Team to defend the solar system from the twisted leaders of the Dark Star Army. As a twisted as fate is it is just plan dirty for Mercry, Venus, and Mars Hero have join forces with the Dark Star Amy. With Earth's Hero missing, the only ones left to defend the solar system is the heros of the outer planets.

Terms of Enlistment by Marko Kloos. Outstanding debut.

The Remaining series by DJ Molles is post apoc, and the characters are simple, but I found it compelling.

A Galaxy Unknown series by Thomas DePrima is stylistically awkward at the start, but gets better, and it's a great story.

Tammy Salyer's Spectras Arise series (military/heist sci fi) and G.S. Jennsen's Aurora Rising series (alien invasion/military/space opera) both star excellent female characters. Joel Shepherd's Spiral Wars series (military sci fi ) also features a really awesome female character -- she's not technically the protagonist, but she splits "screen time" about 50/50 with the male lead. All three of these series also feature great minor female characters too.

My Ziva Payvan series revolves around a female lead as well.

The sequel to my very [first serial] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B017QQO5PG/) is finally out! (Why did I wait so long? No idea!) Even more ninjas than last time, with tons of dark fantasy action, sword slashing, and buildings catching on fire. Also, noodles and singers singing barely in-tune. If you like your dark fantasy, this is definitely your thing.

Silent Edge: Blown Cover

Harrison waits for his contact in a noodle shop. He's able to keep a watchful eye on the exits and he thinks he's safe there, but the Huet Clan knows what he's done and are willing to set the entire building ablaze to take him down. With innocents still inside

Hope you enjoy!

Spike,

Question do you think this has legs as a movie my great, great grandfather was the first man up San Jan Hill during the Spanish American war (Dock Burton of the 24th infantry). My uncle wrote a book about it do you think this story will be compelling to a wide audience. A buffalo solider he served in the 24th infantry was the first to take the hill against superior Spanish fire and as a reward for him and those men they were sent to a yellow fever camps to die and not given credit for the victory. He survived and lived to be 104 years old. This book tells his story.

What do you think?

This short story is very short but I wrote it for my grandfather and family members who were in military. Its supposed to be inspiring of them. Its an alternate history. If you want to know more message me. Thanks.

I was thinking about this all day for some reason because it felt familiar. It reminded me of a story I read on amazon years ago called [Black Wolf] (https://www.amazon.com/Black-Wolf-World-Novel-Online-ebook/dp/B00JGT28MY)

Not sure if it's the right one but I'm pretty sure the juggernaut scene happens in the second or third book?

u/Zapik · 4 pointsr/StarWars

Del Rey released this paperback in 2015 of the OT. It's the latest version and the size of canon novel paperbacks (Legends ones are shorter by like 1.5 cm).

If you buy the paperback editions of Rogue One or TFA, they will be this size.

If you want the OT and PT to be the same size, you'll either have to buy them one by one or get an older version of the OT second-hand and the PT omnibus.

And B&N has these very nice leather-bound hardcovers of the OT. They've recently published the Legends Han Solo Trilogy in that format too. Vader cover, Artoo cover, Threepio cover, Han Solo.

u/TheJollyVereenGiant · 1 pointr/nfl

Yeah, I can see why you might not want to be reading both canon and Legends at once. But it really is a shame, because you're missing out on some amazing stuff, not to mention the inspiration for a lot of new canon material.

Biggest case of this is Admiral Thrawn. He's getting a standalone novel in a week or two that I can't wait to read. But his first apperance in the 90s Thrawn Trilogy is widely regarded as one of the best Star Wars stories written. A lot of nerds like me wept when they did the "canon-wipe", but rejoiced when they brought Thrawn back in the fold.

u/rtsynk · 1 pointr/litrpg

absolutely

The 100 people in the class become the 'Trailblazers' who go everywhere and make all the decisions (because in a vast universe without instant comms, you send people off on decades long missions with no oversight) and each one ends up running a vast faction spanning multiple systems

I did say it was a slow ramp up, but what was originally episode 24 where they meet the dragon is a key turning point that remains hugely impactful (events from that episode were actually just referenced in the latest book). By that point you should have a better idea if you like the series as a whole.

u/gmrm4n · 1 pointr/Fantasy

Hi. I write Nowhere Island University. It's kind of a military thriller with super hero elements.

EDIT: Oh. Never mind.

u/Swrightwriter · 1 pointr/FreeEBOOKS

You're welcome :) Here's the ebook version of my book. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XFGP2X6 For some reason my paperback version hasn't been linked yet. It's a modern action/adventure that I've been working on for about 10 years on and off.

The Expanse is an amazing sci-fi show too that I can not recommend enough if you like sci-fi.

u/It_Goes_Up_To_11 · 4 pointsr/scifi_bookclub

It could have been Ack-Ack Macaque by Gareth L. Powell.

https://www.amazon.com/Ack-Ack-Macaque-Gareth-L-Powell/dp/1781080607

I picked it up a few months ago too, pretty interesting book. Not that it matters, but I think it's a collection of books in the Ack Ack Macaque series, or at least the one I got was.

u/losticcino · 0 pointsr/printSF

The biggest problem with Reynolds vs what you are used to with the Lost Fleet series, is that the Lost Fleet series is rather quick in its pacing (with action etc.) It is hard to find such a quick book with as much development of the characters and technologies. You could ALSO check out the series, A Galaxy Unknown (http://smile.amazon.com/Galaxy-Unknown-Book-ebook/dp/B001CUQE98/ref=smi_www_rco2_go_smi?_encoding=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0) but IMO while it is entertaining it is only a 6 on a scale where the Lost Fleet series is an 8.

You can also check out Kevin Anderson's Saga of the Seven Suns for something that is as compelling, but it is not as technologically plausible as Lost Fleet and has more more fantastical elements.

u/gonzoforpresident · 1 pointr/printSF

Ack Ack Macaque is definitely a bunch of misfits, although it isn't in space. It's set in an alternate, near future.

u/ShasOFish · 13 pointsr/scifi

Well, there's one canon Zahn book, and too be fair, bringing him back was a very big deal.

u/starcraftre · 16 pointsr/scifi

> Emphasis on lower-cost things like Animated series (where SW shines IMHO)

Clone Wars and Rebels are by far my favorite non-book IP. The recent canon novels have been nothing short of great as well (Tarkin and Thrawn, especially)

u/lamientable · 3 pointsr/LightNovels

D. Rus' Play to Live series has pretty epic battles centered around capturing and protecting player guild castles starting from book 3 on.

If you can ignore the occasional typos, the World at War series contains nice large scale virtual reality battles, but with guns instead of magic. The MC's company/guild does try to earn the top spot from an underdog position though.

The Spineward Sectors series isn't really virtual reality or fantasy, but sci-fi, and the battles are with starships, but from what I recall I would call them large scale where the MC has to try and hold his spot as Admiral.

u/thoumyvision · 4 pointsr/printSF

Caliban's War - James S. A. Corey

u/Watch_The_Expanse · 1 pointr/audible

hmm. I thought there were only 3 total. this is my first star wars series. I'm reading this one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ILZO30S/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_t1_AV0rDbTEBB4ZQ

I also borrowed the audio version from my local library app, Libby.

u/radius55 · 1 pointr/scifi

If you have an e-reader, Amazon has some pretty amazing Indie books available for cheap. A Galaxy Unknown is the first in a series following a young female naval officer as she generally kicks ass. Star Force has a group of very near future humans trapped in a war between two groups of machines. Spirit of Empire isn't quite as believable as the others, but it's one of the most gripping space operas I've ever read. Lastly, Theirs is Not to Reason Why is about what happens when you cross a a Drill Sargent with an Oracle and pack it into a female's body. Then send said body out to destroy anything in the way of saving the universe. If you need any more recommendations, I actually have a list saved on my computer. Private message me and I can email it to you.
