Looks great! I did this with my E39's style 42's a couple years ago. The process is pretty straightforward if you want to fix curb rash like I did. Pretty much just involves sanding the lip down, putting some bondo over the problem areas, sanding that down, then spraying it again (primer, silver paint, clear coat). I can answer questions you guys may have too, I'm pretty happy with how mine came out

I cut out a circular piece of cardboard to put over the inset part of the wheel (everything but the lip) and then I taped off everything but the very outer lip that was scuffed. I can't find the original DIY that I used but this is the process as I remember it (minus sandpaper details because I don't remember the exact grit), I'm sure if you googled around you could find something more detailed and with pictures.

Not related to your saw purchase, but if you have out of square walls, you might want to cope your joints rather than just 45º cut them. Read this article. it will take a little bit more time to hand cut all of the moldings, but the results will be worth it if you care what they look like.

You will need to buy a coping saw, but they are only around 15 bucks or so. If you're into power tools, you can look at this also.

here is a pic of the moulding it's a bendable rubber style that's paintable that I attached with an air nailer and its been awesome and looks great imo

Assuming you can't cut/drill any joists, I like the idea of creating some faux beams to house everything. You could do a grid pattern, like this or this or this and move the water lines to run with the pvc.

Just make sure the grid is even. It doesn't need to be squares, it can be one rectangle (shown in the last example).

Agreed. Gel Stain is the way to go. I like the EdgeLock Tape by 3M. It sticks well and does a great job of preventing bleed over. It's not cheap but I've tried the cheap stuff several times with less than stellar results.

Maybe some crown molding with a gap from the ceiling. You apply thr light strip to the top of the molding.

The major issues are the gap between the two and also the curvature of the tub base. Whatever goes between will need to be highly flexible and also fill the gap. I'd really appreciate any thoughts here! Thank you!

All you need to do is get some of the edge molding (Something like this) and it will clean that edge up. Just make sure you cut the edging corners properly

You HAVE to rub the surface of the tape with isopropyl alcohol or PLA will not stick. After wiping it and setting the first layer speed to 35% and first layer height down to 80% of the layer height, it sticks every single time.
