I play the game almost daily, I think it's fun. The movement mechanics and weapons have a satisfying learning curve.

Competitive warmup is your go-to if you're on PC and want to play with a party greater than you and one other member. You can queue 5 people. We're getting ranked crossplay in the coming months.

Unless you host private matches and want to play on a dedicated server or solo queue developer playlist, no. The season pass is terrible value. If you want to play dev list (play new maps early with 2x XP and 20% cr boost) then I reccomend you find someone who has the season pass to host the lobby. You can queue up and play the new maps without having to own the $50 paperweight.

The game should be free to play with a $40-50 season pass that provides extra XP and CR payouts. As it stands, the season pass is basically a ripoff. If you're playing a 10man private match, find someone with season pass and have them host to select maps that are outside of the defaults.

$80 is highway fucking robbery for this game. The cost/benefit model in comparison to other games on PC. $30 is a good maximum to buy this game.

Servers run at 60/30 tick, meaning your client sends 60 updates/sec and server sends 30 updates/sec, which is baffling to me. If you play CS GO and know that 64 tick is fucking awful in comparison to 128tick, you're in for a good time on this 60/30 cheapo bullshit.

As long as you're in the Xbox One neighborhood, I also recommend looking at:

• Sunset Overdrive: Launch trailer. Well-respected developer with a couple decades of stuff under their belts. You can get this one for ten bucks on Amazon.
  
  
• Forza Horizon 2: E3 trailer. I generally don't like racing games, but this one is slick, easy to get into, and is set in an open-world environment that I just like driving around in. Horizon 3 is coming out in a few months. Free demo downloadable here. If you like it, Amazon has it on sale for $35. If you have a GCU account with Best Buy, they will price match Amazon, where it's currently marked down to $35, and bring the price down to $28. This only works with physical copies. XB1 also has Forza 5 and 6, which are more traditional racing games.
  
  
• Then there's the Master Chief Collection, which lets you play Halo 1 through 4 (but not Reach). The first two games have been remastered. It's pretty cool. Multiplayer was pretty buggy at first, and by the time it got fixed, most people had moved on to other things. But the single-player campaigns are a fun ride. Launch trailer.
  
  I personally feel that the PS4 has a better selection of games overall, but if you're ready to try an Xbox, there are some worthy reasons to do so. The console also has support for HBO Now, while the PS4 does not. You can buy the Xbox One S next month, which is a revised version of the console, but it costs $400. There are cheaper versions coming (less storage) but not until December. You you can get a bundle with the regular version now.

It's the only game I own and have over 25 days of matchmaking. Yes you should it's $20 here on amazon brand new, you can't beat that. The arena maybe tough at first but you'll get it, just know it's competitive in ranked. I wouldn't recommend warzone, although I haven't played it since they nerfed the fireteams from 12 to 6. Warzone firefight is a fun casual experience you can play with your feet up. If you don't play the campaign you want miss much story wish but I had fun playing it. The custom games are great with friends, and action sac brings those custom games to matchmaking which is fun too.

With respect to Xbox 360 instruments working on the Xbox One, you are thinking of the Mad Catz Legacy Game Adapter. You can get one here.

Rock Band 4 (physical game disc) for the Xbox One previously came with said adapter but the original Rock Band 4 Band in the Box bundle for the Xbox One did not.

Nowadays, it is wise, as you said to buy Rock Band Rivals. That is an expansion to Rock Band 4 which contains a Rivals competitive mode and Rockudrama, a VH1-like storytelling career mode (separate from the existing Tour Mode already in Rock Band 4). You can purchase a digital copy of Rock Band 4 along with the Rivals expansion on the Xbox store (IIRC $60), or you can purchase different Rock Band Rivals bundles, including one with just a guitar and the game (along with the expansion) or one with a microphone, drum set, and the game (along with the expansion).

  There is one more caveat though, and that's with the Legacy Adapter. The Legacy adapter only supports wireless instruments, and for the Xbox One, there currently isn't a way to use wired Xbox 360 instruments for the Xbox One. This includes Guitar Hero controllers like the Gibson Xplorer (Guitar Hero 2), and the Rock Band 1 instruments. However, the ION Drum Rocker and the Mad Catz MIDI Pro Adapter is now compatible with the Xbox One using the following adapter. This is important for really high-level drummers.

  Therefore, if you wish to go the Xbox 360 route, you would have to buy the Legacy Adapter (first link), the Rock Band Rivals game (likely digitally), and then you can buy your 360 instruments. Otherwise, a full band bundle would also work. You can also combine legacy instruments and Xbox One instruments as well, although from experience the latency between them is different so you may run into issues here.

You can buy digital codes for Microsoft's store from third parties, how is this any different or less closed than buying Steam codes from third parties? Steam codes must be used with Steam, and Microsoft codes must be used with Microsoft's store. Both are available from the store or from third parties.

Steamworks games ARE exclusive to the Steam platform. You can buy the key from elsewhere, but they must be used with Steam. You're right, it isn't completely open like PC gamers value so much, but few even know about Steamworks. To release on a platform other than Steam, Steamworks must be stripped out.

Requiring Steam to use Steamworks is. Like you said, they allow games to use other distribution platform's multiplayer APIs such as GoG Galaxy, but don't allow their multiplayer API to be used on other distribution platforms. They still get to sell and make money off games that don't use their API and games that do use their API must be distributed via Steam.

If they are able to convince developers to use Steamworks (which is easy since they're dominant) then they win. Now games will either not be released on other platforms, or if they are, they must be stripped of Steamworks which will make them incompatible with the Steam version, where the majority of the users are and that makes the non-steam version of the game very unappealing. Which is exactly what happened with these two CoD games.

New releases are priced the same in the US. Old games, yeah, I agree it gets ridiculous. But, new releases are the same - with a few exceptions here and there depending on retailer incentives (like AC:U above).

I'm not getting ripped off by paying $0.03 more for Halo or AC:U. I paid the same price you did.

The RB and LB are one part, and that one part is susceptible to breakage. Fortunately it's easy to fix. Buy a part like this and a Torx T8 security screwdriver (a lot of times sellers will include this with the part). There are tons of guides and videos online on how to open the controller and fix this part. It doesn't require a complete disassembly of the controller and is one of the easiest controller repairs for a novice.

[Edit: When you look at the picture of the replacement part, you should see why it's prone to breakage - its the really thin plastic that connects the two bumpers. Funny thing is the original XB1 controllers (with the IR Blaster inside) aren't built this way. They have independent spring assemblies for each bumper, and in my opinion seem better built than what newer controllers have.]

I actually won him an XboxOne for Christmas from a radio raffle that took place in our city. He doesn't own any games for it yet, he bought Ryse but completed it in one day and resold it to the store.

He loves mech games like Armored Core. So I know he will love this. Honestly i'd save this for Father's Day for him.

I post much more user scores than that and point out things like sales and the popularity it's retained (as evidenced by GameFAQS, a site that gets much more traffic than metacritic), and then I get told my evidence isn't good enough for some reason, even though it's more substantial than the evidence belonging to those I'm debating with. I can't win this argument in your eyes because literally anything I do to back myself up is going to disagree with this community's narrative. I could probably come in here with a peer reviewed study and people would still ask for more. Like, I'm done with this. If this doesn't convince you, fuck it, I tried.

inFAMOUS: Second Son just surpassed Titanfall (Xbox One) in Amazon's March Bestseller List

I think this is pretty interesting considering the difference in marketing budgets between the two games and the fact that PS4 and Xbox One are pretty close in sales in the US. inFAMOUS: Second Son is turning out to be a bigger seller than anyone expected.

Still, it's pretty much a given that Titanfall (Xbox One) still outsold inFAMOUS: Second Son thanks to the bundles that basically gave Titanfall for free and in some places was even discounted by $50. That brings the question as to why didn't Sony bundled inFAMOUS in the US just like they did in Europe, specially with the PS4 still selling so much, that would have boosted the sales of the game significantly.

Try something stupid like Sunset Overdrive. It's absurdly cheap and it's the kind of game you can just throw in and mess around with for a while. I picked it up a couple weeks back and haven't played it yet but Insomniac is pretty good and my friend said he enjoyed it.

If you don't have the Rise of Iron, you're missing a lot, since people do the Siva Crisis Heroic Strike (and Crucible), list to get Legendary marks five times and one Treasure of the Ages Chest (dismantle for Silver dust) weekly.

If you want to increase your light level first (although most people in strike can help you through), to maximize your time to get the most loot, have all three characters spend 10 minutes a day to do one Public Event successfully completed gold level (and /or daily crucible) for rewards and Legendary marks to buy gear. The key to maximize your light level decrypting, is to rotate decryption of the type of engrams, so all gear you're wearing is highest possible level. I just got the 500 gig model with Gears of War. I picked up Halo 5 from Target today for $45 and ordered Destiny the Taken King off of Amazon for like $31. I got Black Ops 3 around a week ago for $30 when the Microsoft store ran it on sale, but GameStop has it for $40 right now. They also have Batman Arkham Knight for $20 and it comes with a pretty cool action figure for free.

Did you pick up any other games? I spent way too much money, but it should keep me occupied for a while.

I'm not sure if there's any way to fix it without disassembly, but I replaced mine not too long ago and it really wasn't difficult. I used this kit off Amazon (there are lots of others that are cheaper, this is just the one I picked because it had good ratings and came with all the different tools) and this video on YouTube and it took about 10 minutes. It works as good as new.

So Target has done this promotion before where you pre-buy a game and get $20 off a certain title, and, while some say is dishonest, you can probably get some of these titles for cheaper than the $30-40 that they advertise for. While I'm not here to tell you what's right or not, I am here to post game deals, and, well, this is part of it.

Without knowing what the "& more" titles are, I'll start with the ones that Target has listed in the ad. In order to get them cheaper, you ask for one of the games that's listed and tell them that you want to price match to a competitor's price. Target policy is that they have to escort you to the customer service desk to do the promotion where they have to look the price up on one of their iPads. Bring the pre-order card with you as they can check you out at the CS desk. I advise that you also have a few other items with you as this is where it gets kind of grey. Some team members will do the price match and promotion no problem, others won't claiming that you can't combine promotions (which is true according to Target's employee handbook). The issue in question, however, is if price matching is considered a promotion. It does not clearly define price matching as a promotions, so, really, it's up to the regional area if they will do it or not. I've found that having other items doesn't really raise any red flags when I did this promotion back about a year ago (you can then return said items at a later date for a full refund of those items making your final cost the sale sale price). What I'm saying is for example Far Cry 4 for PC on sale is $15 plus tax if you live in Washington like me, not on sale it's $30 (meaning you have to wait for it to go on sale if it's not before you buy). On Amazon it is $13.85 after shipping from users selling it which you don't need to wait for a sale for. Dark Souls 3 on sale for PC is $30, not on sale it's $60. On Amazon you can get it for $31.92 after shipping at any time without needing a sale. Also you actually own the game if you buy it off Amazon and can even resell whereas on PC you're just getting a license that has zero value after purchase.

If we can do pre-orders it would be Watch_Dogs, otherwise probably Dark Souls II. Sucks that the 3DS limit is $30 since the price drop takes so long and new games are $40. My favorite game is...Final Fantasy VII. But I love so many!

Sure! It's not perfect, but it's a pretty fun game. I had a lot of small gripes with it; mainly that it has a lot of "wait here and kill enemies while someone else does a thing"-type missions, and that combat doesn't really have much punch to it, but the colorful world and excellent art direction makes up for any of the game's minor flaws, IMO.

I'd say if you can pick it up for $20 or less (and you can), then you should definitely give it a shot.
